It's not a hard pill to swallow that developers would fix bugs unrelated to money like the Open Wheel spoilers not making a difference during races, but monetization is as important for them, so that takes higher priority too, which isn't surprising. If you want to adjust that "prioritization", you would have to convince them to change the monetization approach aka Mission: Impossible.

Okay let's play this game. Overworked/overly stressed developers. This problem still falls on Rockstar. So much to do, bigger issues to fix, etc so not everything can be fixed and then never does. This lack of organization still falls on Rockstar. No matter which way you spin it, it all basically boils completely down to either incompetence (which is a broad collection of issues) and laziness. That's it. Again, these are easy fixes. If I can do it, if a bunch of randoms who don't have much knowledge in video game development can do it, then they can do it. If they found the time and actually paid attention to some of the complaints and details, rather than just the bigger picture, then they could fix it. But they choose not to. They probably go by the "bigger problems/priorities" logic, and of course that is incompetence because once you go down that rabbit hole, many things will never get fixed and you have a bugged game and people will find that their complaints will never be addressed and the game will feel broken. Which leads to people caring more about QOL fixes than actual content updates (boy, doesn't that sound familiar?) because it would make the game better. But they rarely happen. So some, like me, just said f*ck it and got a good PC/laptop, bought the game (I got it via Epic Games for free bc I wasn't going to pay this company another dime) and then fixed the sh*t ourselves. And through that process, I realized it really was that easy. And that there was absolutely no excuse for any of that bullsh*t. So there you have it. It hasn't got anything to do with "lack of imagination" it has everything to do with cutting the bullsh*t and telling it like it is. And unless they're paying you, there is no need to defend their actions.

I love military stuff too, but I still hope we just get normal, every-day wage-war vehicles (technicals, army trucks, Humvee and the armed Dinghy from the teaser, for example), y'know, stuff that's actually used in today's warfare, and not a "hoverbike" strapped to a f*cking jet engine equipped with a JATO boost and god-tier missiles. Keep military to military, please Rockstar. Machine guns and explosions, yes. Lock-on missiles and unavoidable orbital cannon strikes, no.

I don't think most of the devs are working today? or a particular studio like Rockstar NYC? I hardly think we are getting anything today. The focus for now most likely lays on RDO, then fast forward to the week after is when we may receive a new piece of info.

Anyway, I'm really hoping R* don't screw the car collectors and think that by giving those 2 old garages slots last DLC as 'enough for now' we need something good, I'm hoping as the casino is showing construction props, we get a couple more floors there at least. Or ideally, a mansion that holds 50 PV's, lol. C'mon R*, make me smile!

Bruh, why you always picking fights? GTA is not some ancient indecipherable spell, just code. I don't think calling it incompetence is fair, but they simply don't prioritize small bugs, since pretty much always there's something more important. I'd say that stuff will be fixed on the ps4 enhanced stuff, where part of the dev team is focused.

RDO Next Updates Speculation & General Chat (Part I)

I've seen this happen many times before in online games. It's the "the game doesn't make enough money, lets nerf things to force people to spend more money" move. It's a horrible sign for the games health, and it fits right in line with the poor level of support the game has had this year. RDO's on it's deathbed.

Do you have any actual rebuttals or are you just gonna try and refute my reasonings as "f*cking bullsh*t" because you don't like them? I have no time arguing with people who have no basic understanding of how things work with business or technology or coding. If you want to calm down, maybe take everything from an unbiased approach, we can then have a conversation. But if you want to play this game, then this is too off-topic and I want no further part of it. Alright? Good.

I think a more appropriate word would be 'complacency'. Rockstar rarely does anything good for their fans because they don't have to. Why bother making sure your customers get a more enjoyable experience when instead, you can slowly break a game down and the money will still come your way in rows of dump trucks regardless?

RDO Next Updates Speculation & General Chat (Part I)

It's not. MMO's or games in a similar mould, like RDO, have a community made up of a few groups of players but you can simply describe them as the casuals and the hardcore vets. The hardcore vets in any game typically always end up rich and having more resources than the devs can keep up with but the developers accept this because they are the core of the community and keep the game active and an active playerbase is good because it means they have a dependable amount of daily and monthly average users (DAU/MAU) and an active playerbase looks attractive to incoming players. So because of that they put up with them not really having to spend money cause they earn enough while playing because there's benefits to keeping them around. However. When the game isn't bringing in enough new players to build the playerbase and thus the profits, the developer (or typically the suits) then target the remaining players, aka the hardcore veterans. They do this by nerfing long standing methods to make money, grind exp and things of that type. This is to force them into the games monetisation - buying currency, boosts, etc. They're the only players they have left and the suits needs money, so they willingly and knowingly do stuff that will piss off players in order to squeeze as much money out of the game as possible. Now look at RDO, in the games second year we are getting one and a half roles while GTAO is getting a map expansion and has a next-gen remaster confirmed and an exclusive marketing deal with PlayStation. Meanwhile RDO is getting a $5 version thrown out via a low effort Newswire post, no information on a next-gen version, no information on character transfers, no marketing deals and no huge end of year update. Red Dead Online is on it's deathbed.

The irony, that R* announces nerfing dailies on the date RDO launched 2 years ago. The same date R* started to get backlash for its ridiculous in game pricing in 2018. They are not even self aware. Terrible decision. They don't care about their community. Rockstar forgot that communication, listening and respecting community, upholding a positive image is important. EA learned that the hard way with Battlefront 2.

    GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 5]

I'd be surprised if you keep anything tangible at all - assets, money, exp or appearance. I expect they'll be doing a complete redo of mechanics, progression and all that stuff, and an all-new character creator which will probably mean current GTAO characters aren't compatible. If your character transfers then my guess is that it'll be some Saints Row 2-esque thing where you get messed up by someone you crossed and you lose all your stuff and you get physically messed up needing plastic surgery or something.

A few days ago you said that you didn’t expect everyone to lap up everything Rockstar puts out like obedient dogs, but your response to every criticism seems to amount to “nuh uh” or “you’re not a developer.” Have you considered that it might be a problem if you need to use your imagination to rationalize your explanations because the other ones make you uncomfortable? Rockstar employs artists, but it isn’t run by them. They have a bottom line and negligence towards glitches is just a part of how they turn a profit. The tendency toward brand loyalty in gaming is absolutely unfathomable to me. Even car enthusiasts don’t defend their preferred faceless corporations quite like gamers.

Oh and if really don't quite get just how low a priority RDO is, we have a brand new update coming out next week and all we've had is one screenshot and some very vague info. We also have a standalone version out next week or so and unless you follow them on Twitter or visit their official website, you wouldn't know. Well I did say that stuff like you mentioned falls on Rockstar. The industry does have problems as a whole but it didn't always used to be this way. Especially with Rockstar. They cared about attention to detail, and though there were still bugs... there weren't so many that were hard to not notice or ignore, or product-breaking (Faction for example). The ones doing this stuff, yeah they have deadlines and stuff and they aren't paid for attention to detail like you said. But could you say that about their older games? Money is everything with Rockstar these days, and they don't care about anything that won't directly hinder their income. Another user used a better word, complacency. That is accurate in my opinion. But I do feel like it is still incompetence "well we don't need to do this this and that because it will still sell, we don't need to fix that, who cares" I mean... that's just stupid. And it won't directly hinder your income but your loyal customers will notice and it will gradually over time turn some of them away like myself. If they cared more, they would made more money. Really. They can get by making a lot of money doing a slap job because they've made it. If they were any other company, I don't think so... I call it incompetence because just because you know how to make money doesn't mean you're good at what you're doing. This goes for any company. They let the bean counters decide where to cut corners to maximize their profits and don't care about doing a good job. They just care about making a profit. And that is incompetence to me if that's your only goal, nothing else. They've succeeded in making cash, did they succeed in making a quality product? And then, where is quality control? Who misses all of these bugs. When it comes to money, why are there always so many glitches to where it is easy to take advantage and get money without grinding? So they can't even get it together where it counts for them either.

Well... I'mma move this onto I really hope we get some interesting picks for the cars this update. I have some scenarios about the whole vehicle situation: There could be a lot of cars that we were going to get. I feel that we were supposed to get a bunch this summer, but because of COVID and America's cop situation, they had to delay and give us some filler stuff. All of the cars in the MPSUM update were of particularly high quality (in terms of variety and exterior styling; performance, sounds and interiors... that's another story). I'm pretty sure they were part of something bigger. Couple that with whatever they've been developing since then and now, and it could be a lot. They could have just scrapped the other summer cars (bad idea) but still had a lot to do and tailor to this update. In that case, it could still be a lot. Probably diamond & casino or diamond & casino heist level. After Hours could happen, and this big hyped update could focus totally on the new location and heists and totally drop the ball when it comes to car selection. This is unlikely, but it could happen. I'mma go with #2, but #1 could be possible. Just don't wanna set myself up for disappointment (although really... I got plenty of cars to play with these days). And ofc something I'd like to see: Cognoscenti II anyone?

Yeah this too, people don't realize it's that simple. I have changed so much, believe me it takes a lot for the game to say "corrupt game data." You would have to make a pretty big mistake or really not have the slightest clue what you're doing... and if a noob like me can do it I'm sure anyone can. I've completely redone handling.metas, carcols, carvariations, vehicles.meta., deleted some handling flags, etc. Everything is relatively easily configurable once you figure out what all of the values mean and do. You can really make a car handle, completely, 100% completely how you want it to. Make it ride how you want, change the lights, the way it spawns, where it spawns, the lighting coronas... sh*t then you can go into zmodeler, a pretty sh*tty buggy 3d program, and go and further fix some sh*t Rockstar forgot to do in seconds (add badges, add colorable interior, calipers, etc). It's really that simple. Almost any time you heard my complain about some of the things Rockstar does, or really most people, it's because it IS an easy fix. And a very questionable oversight on their part. A lot of the things people commonly complain about involved the simplest adjustment. That's what makes them look even worse in my eyes. Because they're paying people to do these things, and some random with no real experience in the game industry can come in and fix it within seconds or a couple of minutes at most.

On the anniversary of RDO, Rockstar announces that its dailies streak will reset when you reach the 28th. I have 102 days, currently, I logged in every single day so as not to lose. It's impossible to support this game anymore, it's clear what they want it's not what their players want. I'm done with this game, for good. Amazing singleplayer, but one of the worst multiplayers I've ever tried to experience.

I don't think the current event or the duration of it matters that much to them. It's most likely just a matter of casting the spotlight on RDO for a short while, before shifting it towards GTAO. As for the second week of December, there is a massive red flag, which is the release of CP2077 on December 10th. When would Rockstar announce more details relies solely on whether they acknowledge that or simply tend to ignore it.

Some small things that may help, IMO. For boredom: Choose one territory and make it your personal duty to clean up the criminal element in that area. For me it was Big Valley and the Great Plains - I am on a mission from God, to wipe out the Skinner Brothers (they also have the best loot). Fugitives in those areas, use the Skinners as muscle. For rank: Try using slit point bullets. You will receive extra XP points for using and hand crafting the rounds.

Honestly, this and the script kiddies problem are the reasons why I will always say that if you have a PC then you are doing a disservice to yourself by playing this broken mess of a game and be a subject to Rockstar's willingness to patch things or not, instead of playing FiveM. If you're on console like me then well, theres nothing to be done about it except spam their suggestions and feedback and hope they fix their mess, but if you're on PC? Download FiveM right away and forget that this sh*tshow of a game still exists and will be rereleased once again on next gen consoles because the devs wants more and more money.
