100% this ^ It's tragic that no matter what side of the fence you're on, the game needs to be broken one way or the other to please some of the players while pissing off the others. Weather it's 'us' that want lobbies small so we can have the fuller PvE experience once promised and sold to us because R* refuse to listen and add choices/options for that playstyle. Or 'them' that need the game to stop spawning the tasks/events intended so they've got more players to 'interact' with or because there's too many random encounters to avoid when all you have to do is ride on past anything that does pop up, lol. Either playstyle, both are actively campaigning to have the game broken somehow which is absolutely pathetic and only enables R* to keep on f*cking it all up. The game is over 2 years old and They've said they have lobby choices as a back up. How long or far in does it need to be before they actually use their intended back up considering the game is still so broken. More than 2 years has to be taking the piss now???!!! It's embarrassing to be honest. Embarrassing from us players fighting over which way we'd rather the game be broken and embarrassing from a developer that refuses to listen and actively say they are. We see many other developers looking to embrace as many of their fans as possible with features added or good communication and all we get from R* is complacency, a smokescreen called feedback, and no matter how you play, a compromised game. We really do need the clowns for these bozo's.10 points -

You're putting words in other's mouths by claiming they want the game to play their way and no other. That's not what anyone has been saying all this time. In fact, most people have said or agreed they would like the game to satisfy everyone. That's how I feel also. For example, how many times has the topic of invite/solo lobbies been bought up? That would make everyone happy and it's such a simple solution. Those who complain have reason to complain and have every right to do so. This online game is garbage and the complaints aren't about "little" things. If you think they are little things, I'd hate to see just how bad a product would have to be for you to feel the need to complain. You were complaining about small lobbies because of lack of "interaction" even though the game was finally working as it should, so a working game doesn't seem to matter to you and that's fine, for you. It does matter to most people though. If a working game is their way, fine, I say let them have their way. I'm right there with them. If you don't complain that's your choice but if everyone stayed quiet these companies would never do anything to make their product better, especially those companies that have no competition. Complaints fly into just about every business on Earth every day. That's how you get action. So don't knock people who do make their voices heard in an effort to make the game better for everyone including those who don't complain. This game actually played quite well with lobbies of 32 people before they introduced roles. That first major update is when things starting going downhill as far as performance. It has gotten progressively worse and as of today I still don't see any sign that it will begin to get better. So I guess people will keep complaining and R* will keep ignoring. So keep on knocking the complainers while giving R* a complete pass.9 points -

Imagine spending so much time in a virtual strip club that you complain about some random ass cone in front of it... Btw, aren't you the guy who keeps suggesting sexy outfits, sex trafficking, f*cking other players etc? Whats with you and f*cking in video games? I will never understand the appeal of watching some poligon tits... Just go watch some pr0n ffc. I would want to scan you with my terrorbyte scanner to see how much time you spend on that in the game but the number would be so high it would probably crash my game... Nah, I get theres a huge hype for Cyberpunk but keep in mind the specs. Like I can turn RDR2 on high settings but I still would need to upgrade my PC to play cyberpunk. And GTA V is an old ass game that was given to people for free. Literally everyone can play it, even on pretty outdated hardware. Not to mention that GTA and CP are pretty different games. I guess Rockstar is most likely gonna follow suit and pull out the Halloween bonuses tomorrow, which won't be surprising since RDO and many games are already celebrating it. I've finally played RDR2 for the first time
Liberty-TG and 5 others reacted to Niobium for a topic
hello everyone, when red dead redemption 2 was announced, i skipped the hype train entirely. i was so disappointed with GTA V that i did not have any more faith in rockstar's ability to make quality single player games. 2 years later, i heard that RDR2 is actually good. so out of curiousity, i decided to give it a chance, and i found it to be a massive improvement upon GTA V. things i liked: -the euphoria physics engine is top notch in this game. it was one of my favorite things in IV, so i was extremely disappointed to see it get downgraded in V. but this game makes euphoria physics the way it should be. NPCs stumble around when they get shot, arthur stumbles and rolls when bailing out of a moving horse or carriage, and the gore takes combat to a whole other level. the only thing that sucks is that getting drunk makes you walk slow like in GTA V, instead of stumble around like in IV. -the shooting in this game is excellent. shooting was another thing that i was disappointed with in GTA V, because the shooting lacked impact and did not feel powerful. but in RDR2, shooting is one of the funnest things to do in the game. bullets feel very impactful, whether you are sniping accurately with a rolling block rifle or blasting fools up close with a shotgun. they do not feel like plastic toy guns like they did in GTA V. lot of people criticize the shooting because you just press L2 and R2 repeatedly, but i don't mind this. -the story is so good. admittedly it starts out really slow with some filler, but it eventually picks up. seeing the gang go from happy, celebrating and singing songs around the campfire to hating everyone around each other, not talking to each other and not trusting anyone was really good development. dutch's character development has fascinated me the most, seeing his descent into madness. there are a lot of parallels between dutch and billy grey. both are leaders of an outlaw gang that has a rebellious lifestyle. both are charismatic leaders who like to give big speeches. and both become more insane, violent and selfish as they start to lead the gang to its downfall. also, arthur has won me over as one of my favorite rockstar protagonists. i thought it would be hard for me to connect with him because i knew he was doomed to die, what with this being a prequel and all. but his sickness has transformed him into a man with nothing to lose, determined to give john the life he never had. seeing him pass away while watching the sun rise, knowing that he was successful in keeping john's family safe was so bittersweet. arthur is up there with john, niko, and johnny for me. things i didn't like: -the honor system. it is so inconsistent. one moment i will be losing honor for helping a prisoner escape from a police carriage, another moment i will gain honor for helping a prisoner by shooting his cuffs. wtf? also, there are times where i would accidentally hit someone with my horse (without even killing them) and i will still lose honor. that's dumb. also, honor makes little difference in the story. the only major difference is whether you die peacefully, or micah brutally kills you and then you get to see either a deer (which means you're a good guy! :D) or a wolf (which means you're bad! >:C). the deer/wolf is just so cheesy. also, i thought it was so contrived that micah finishes the job and kills you just because you had an arbitrarily low number. they should have picked one ending and sticked with it. i preferred the sun rise death scene personally. anyway, i thought the honor system should have been scrapped. i didn't care for it in RDR1, and i certainly don't care for it in this game. -the rest of their systems. for example, the weight system. i have literally no idea how it works. i kept cooking steaks and game meat in the campfire and eating them, and the stats would still say that i'm underweight. was i underweight because of the tuberculosis? i have no clue. also, i had to read online guides to figure out how cores work. the game doesn't explain sh*t -online. i tried it for 30 minutes and i could not find a single player in free roam. the lobbies were all empty. i stopped playing it and never touched it again. if i wanted to play alone, i'd play single player. -the missions are too linear and scripted. i feel this video explains it pretty well. you will often fail missions for going slightly out of bounds, or trying a different approach. it's ridiculous. the linear mission design was the one thing i hated about GTA V that got transferred over to RDR2. there are times when i would be successful in my stealth, but then a scripted event happens which forces me to get detected. oh you decide to rob a bank by quietly and quickly lockpicking all the safes instead of blowing the f*cker up? ohp too bad, you got detected by lawmen in a scripted cutscene and now you're being forced to escape the cops, robbing your satisfaction of getting away scot-free. it's such a shame because GTA IV was very open in its mission design. in the mission politics for example, you could barge in guns blazing in the airport and blow up the chopper, escaping with the exit stubbs provided you. or you could set up an ambush as the convoy exits the airport, and how you set up the ambush is up to you. or if you were skilled, you could snipe the target while he is still in the chopper. the game doesn't give a sh*t as long as you kill the guy. that's the beauty of mission freedom. (i can't remember if RDR1 had this kind of mission freedom, since it's been so long since i've played the game and i don't have a console available atm.) -crunch. conclusion: this is quite an amazing game, and it restored some of my faith in rockstar. however, i do not think that it is a masterpiece like everyone says it is. the linear mission design drags it down for me, as i prefer the mission freedom that IV offers. but RDR2 DOES come close to being a masterpiece in my eyes, and i can completely understand if anyone gives this game a 10/10. for me, i will give this game a 9/10, which is still a very high score. anyway, thanks for reading my incoherent review6 points -
