The B*tch & Moan Thread (Part 3)

Up until now I have ignored the casino heist. So this week my crew and I thought we'd give it a shot. We were doing the setup mission where you steal the untraceable weapons. I want to know who at Rockstar thought up this ridiculous mission. What were these developers smoking when they programmed this? Here is my list of issues with this mission: #1 - ignore our entire inventory of weapons and go steal untraceable weapons....that are located on a military base! WTF?! #2 - steal the weapons by stealing the military vehicle they are stored in...a vehicle that is obviously low jacked because every cop on the map seems to know where you are with this thing #3 - when you die, you respawn in the middle of this cluster of cops and you spawn with no weapon in your hand The entire premise of this mission is to steal weapons that can't be traced back to you or Lester and yet you are stealing them from a high security facility and then you're in a 4 star police chase for 30 minutes. That completely contradicts the premise of the mission. It would have made more sense to steal weapons from the Ballas or Lost MC not from Zancudo, where you have to kill military personnel in full view of everyone.9 points -

Honestly if you view most games individually, they seems a lot better than you think. Now I admit GTA V as a game overall, is better as jack of all trades but reason games like W_Ds, Sleeping Dogs, Mafia and Just Cause will be preferred by others is because they are specialized games. W_Ds has the hacking mechanic edge, Mafia has the narrative edge, Just Cause has the chaos edge etc etc. I don't think there is anything memorable about V other than its scale and the three protagonist switch. Furthermore GTA V fails to be consistent because it doesn't quite set a standard for itself, it doesn't really have an idea what to do gameplay-wise or narratively. I argued how new dev team isn't very creative, they look at previous team's work and tried to mimic it like how other developers does but the thing is, other game developers do have an idea how to implement that tactic, Rockstar is out of its area of expertise. It's also asking more than it can chew by relying heavily on scripted narrative style in a series that was supposed to be about sandbox open-world gameplay. When you do that, you gotta make sure the narrative is on a whole new level and not half-assed like V's is. And interesting enough, Mafia games have a stronger narrative but even they don't shove it down your throat like V or RDR2 did. It's a mark of confidence which Rockstar lacks sadly. They no longer want you to appreciate things on your own terms, they just grab you by head and make you look at their work saying, "MAN ISN'T THIS GREAT? DIDN'T WE MAKE THE BEST GAME HUH?!" yea yea, just lemme play the game already? No? Okay.....7 points -

It amazes me that a game can have an almost universal wants list that is almost in perfect order no matter what player you talk to and R* can be like "lol f*ck you, no." Never before have I seen a studio that outright refuses to listen to its players and just trundle on according to The Grand Design. Even studios like EA and whoever makes Call of Duty listen and implement what their players want but not R*, even studios like Rare with Sea of Thieves and Hello Games with No Man's Sky went back to basics and listened to what the fans want. There is a perfect list of what the players want and they refuse to listen to it, we want Properties and more Outlaw/Cowboy stuff in the Outlaw/Cowboy games but R* is like "lol no f*ck you, be a boar"6 points -

I don't think my feedback should qualify as a 'bitch and moan' but I'd like to see them remake player models in GTA Online, I don't think anyone wants to see 4K sandpaper skin on PS5, do they? When jumping back on GTAO after playing RDO, I just can't get over how bad the character models are. Even the walk animations seem stiff and awkward now too. NPCs still have waayy nicer clothing than us, thankfully Rockstar learnt that lesson because in RDO they give us the same clothing NPCs wear, and I am incredibly appreciative of that. With all that said I literally think the only thing they will 'enhance' in the next-gen version is the resolution and performance5 points -

I fit one of those labels, but which one? They have that in the original game, running down the horse thief and returning the animal back to it's owner. I actually enjoyed those little random encounters. So we may or may not be looking for an actual rustler job? I can see where that kind of addition will add a lot to the game, but I love the idea of being able to steal a whole herd of cattle or horses with a posse and running them to the nearest corrals for a good pay day. Or protecting that herd from rustlers should you wish to take the honorable route.5 points -

I like contact missions, they make good target practice for my Savage and Hunter. God, between this and the 1899/1907 versions of NPCs, etc. it sounds like you could still travel to Blackwater and New Austin as Arthur, and they just locked it off to give you a reason to play till the end. This stuff could absolutely be modded back in and still be lore-friendly. I understand Blackwater being in lockdown for the whole story, but there’s no reason for the invisible sniper and infinite bounty hunters. You should be able to sneak around just like any other town, and obviously one of these lines could play. As well as sneaking by and escaping to New Austin.4 points -

I don't have a very good answer to video game addiction. All I know if that if you're an addict who plays GTA online, but has since stopped playing it, you'll be addicted to something else instead. I personally try to put off the cravings as long as possible, i.e.; I don't play video games immediately after getting up, but try to organize other things first: take a shower, clean up, eat breakfast, go to work... and if you don't have any work, do something else first instead. The best thing to do is to accept the addiction, but try and prioritize more important things first. I don't know about you guys, but after turning the addiction on, turning it off again can a major challenge. In the past, I have felt so disappointed at not having more control and for not being able to walk away when I'm no longer having fun, so that's why I advise putting it off as long as possible because you know it will get you in the end.3 points -

As far as small QoL changes go, I'd love to see a Sea Race Series as well as an Air Race Series, which for some reason Rockstar gives zero sh*ts about even though they could be quite fun if people knew of their existence. It wouldn't take much for them to add these rotations similarly to the ones for land races (and consequently adding them on the Quick Job app for quick access). I'd also love something similar to be done with Deathmatches, LTS and above all Capture.3 points -

Nah. GTAO is still GTA V's multiplayer. And technically GTAO has 'evolved' since launch hasn't it? We've had Heists, Businesses, Doomsday Heist, Diamond Casino Heist and all the other updates. Some people keep bringing up possible map expansions like LC (especially with the new Heist coming in December) but that would be a LOT of work (remaking entire parts of the map because the last time we saw the city it was 2008 and don't forget the radio stations) and with the resources of the online team undoubtedly being less than the main team working on the next big thing (in this case VI) and the fact that it'd probably hinder the performance of the game it's kind of impossible. A small island has been teased a few times by people on here as the "new location" of the next update and it's certainly x10 more plausible than adding an entire new city to the game. At the end of the day no matter how much content you add to it it's still going to be the same game. Same assets, same animations, same gameplay mechanics, same map, same everything. The PS5/Series X versions will basically be the PC version made available for those consoles.3 points -

hitman absolution. most hitman veterans can't stand that game. however, i really enjoyed it. and i say this as someone who is- or was, a diehard fan of the series.... until IOI made that stupid HITMAN 3 epic exclusive announcement it has so many mechanics that serve as the basis for HITMAN 2016. smooth controls, picking up and throwing any object and using it as a weapon, throwing objects at people's heads, being able to hide yourself and bodies in closets AND boxes, challenge system, hell even things that "casual" players don't notice like bullet distractions. also the game was pretty polished, at least more polished than HITMAN 2 anyway. and the disguise system and level design was really not that bad. yes the disguise system was harsh and some levels were linear, but that was also the case in hitman 2: silent assassin and blood money fanboys just overlook this fact. the disguise system is really not that bad. just keep your distance from others wearing the same clothes and only use instinct when you need to pass through them. also, not all the the levels are linear. some levels are the traditional assassination sandbox levels like chinatown i and ii, streets of hope, vixen club, etc. those levels are quite good. the levels that actually are linear are still okay. only thing about the game that sucked was the story, but honestly, not that many hitman games have good stories in them so yeah3 points -
