Was messing around a bit yesterday chipping away at my backlog of clothes and masks, and found out that we can have the Cluckin' Bell mask as a separate item, i thought it was only available as part of that arena war outfit? Either way this got me thinking about the re-re-release, what about fast-food chains? They added a bunch of masks and clothes related to fast food chains in the last few DLC's, could it be a hint at fast food making a return? I mean on one hand theres no real reason for them to do so, on the other hand, why not? there wasn't any real reason to make the previous additions (like nightclubs & casino & arcades) either, and it might be something they want to try in an effort to 'bridge the gap' between GTA:O and RDO a bit? Not that i think R* would introduce mandatory eating like RDO, but if they can get people used to the idea in GTA it might help 'lower the bar of entry' for players to also play RDO? Some marketing logic like that sounds plausible to me. Either way at the very least i think its interesting how they added quite a bunch of references to fast food chains in the last few DLC, and i would really like if they re-introduce fast-food, so here's some quick fire speculation/wish-listing about it: Would be cool if we get actually functional: - 'Burger Shot' - 'Cluckin Bell' - 'Well Stacked Pizza' or 'Pizza This...' - 'Vendors' (the food stands already in the game) If they wanted to go a few steps further: - 'Taco Bomb' - 'Punk Noodles' - 'Rusty Browns Ring Donuts' or 'Jims Sticky Ring' or 'King Ring' If they wouldn't mind having doubles (read: places that sell the same stuff) - 'Up-n-Atom Burger' (buying a menu here should unlock a livery for up-n-atomizer or a minor upgrade or something like that, a little 'toy' you get related to that weapon) - 'Lucky Plucker' Not only would this 'enrich the world' (read: 'make it feel more alive') but they could do more with it besides the stores just being an elaborate health-pickup, random idea's below: - Perfect excuse to add a bunch of fun vehicles (delivery scooters, new food vans, etc) - You can buy a fast food store and use it as a front for drug trafficking (small time passive income / maybe 2 levels of 'nightclub warehouse'?) - Add the classic fast food missions because why not, use the new vehicles to do this. - Deliver the cargo from passive income in same vehicles as food, no cargo icon. (so you'll occasionally see people driving these vehicles but have no idea if they are moving food or cargo) - Add 'fast food wars' freemode events. (really just gangwars/alienwars but with fast food outfits, give the pvp players something to do in freemode) - These places could sell you new snacks and drinks for your inventory (besides simply offering health regen by ordering different food in the store they could sell like little to-go packages & actual snacks) - Interaction menu option to have a pizza / large meal delivered by drone, 1000 bucks with some 5-10min cooldown, pick it up & you get full health & armor, do some jobs / win some wars to get the price down to something less stupid, cooldown timer stays the same so it cant be abused - More roleplay stuff (just let people buy all the employee outfits & earlier mentioned vehicles) - Sponsoring in Arena war / race gamemodes or a future dlc (you use their logo's on your ride, they pay you x amount and a bonus when u win, have certain amount of wins you get better sponsor deals)

And we'll end up being a sparrow... I want a paranormal Sherlock Holmes style mystery surrounding one of the abandoned locations. Like what happened to Pleasance? There is a ghost on the Bayou who has an entire story but nothing tangible to bring her story to fruition. Maybe we can meet a younger Seth, stealing from the dead? I wanna meet a shaman and possibly seek out spirits that wander the world, there are so many legends to go off of. The Wendigo, the Raven Mocker, Sasquatch? There are the legends in the swamps, the Nigh Folk, you can have that soothsayer from Story Mode appear. How about a creepy mission involving looking for the lost little girl in that poster at Van Horn? So much to work with, and such a lack of creativity.

Yes it is. If you're harassing another player who is minding their own business, that is griefing. If you continue to pull someone off their horse more than once and ram into them with your horse trying to knock them out of defensive mode, that is griefing. You trying to justify that behaviour says it all really...

Things you do that nobody else does in RDO.

It's funny, I mute the music in a majority of games I play for feeling too artificial and overbearing to the action at hand. If you narrow it down to similar open-world roleplaying games then RDO stands alone in having the music on, it just feels organic and complimentary in a way I rarely find elsewhere.

This car already exists, it's the Stromberg. The dumb Oppressor needs to be nerfed, though. They can add all the stuff they want, but in the end, the whole ecosystem is rickety and built on an unstable foundation. All you need to know about how sh*tty that vehicle is, is that every time somebody gets butthurt in a lobby, the first thing they do is call for their Mk II and try to get a cheap and easy kill. Then the person they killed gets THEIR Mk II, and the lobby just turns into that. It's stupid.

Not sure whether you'd class it as a military vehicle, more just an armored SUV, but the Nightshark. I'm on the side of either heavily nerfing or removing the MK2 from the game, but until that occurs, the aforementioned works. Getting back to my original point - its perfectly fine for people to desire more cars, I've no issue with that. There's also no argument to made for denying more balanced military hardware in the game, or at least upgrading what we currently have (Buzzard, Annihilator et al) to be more capable in today's landscape of flying bikes and hover cars. I'd also like to see a range of new non-OP modern fighter jets, helis, humvees etc - none of which should be capable of making life miserable for other players.

I just came across a random encounter in Big Valley - a hunter NPC! I walked with him, steathily through the woods, as he stopped occasionally, picked something up from the floor and remarked; "Mmm.. smells like dinner" "These droppings are fresh" and before I knew it, he fired upon a nearby grizzly and shrieked when it ran after him haha. I'm loving these low populated lobbies and the random encounters that are allowed to flourish because of them.

I’ve been saying it for years now, but we really are due for a Rhino Mk.II. The Nightshark and Insurgent are both more tanky than the actual tanks. I don’t need a tank simulator, but as it stands tanks are legitimately useless. The Nightshark and Insurgent are faster, they take more missiles, they allow you to use sticky bombs and weapons in your inventory and also offer nearly full protection for the driver. The Rhino and Khanjali having explosive rounds just doesn’t make up for everything stacked against them.

I really hope we get mansions with this next update. Preferably, I would enjoy a large indoor, customizable living space, that s underground. They could mimic the outdoors in this inside facility with fake skies, etc. Heists are fun and all, but get old after awhile... especially when you own everything you want in game. Whats the point of logging in to grind money when money isn't an issue. The nightshark is great for moving from one piece of property to the other.... but wish it could at least deal damage to the MK2.

I find hard to think of any balanced, military hardware capable to balance/surpass the Oppressor Mk II as it is. If such thing exists, I'm pretty sure it will become just another griefing tool. The workarounds and mental gymnastics we all do about playing this game post-broomstick are a bit sad and funny on equal parts. It's like re-designing an entire Ferrari because your Humvee seats wont fit: you just have to fix the seats, not the rest of the car.

Crossing east to west (or vice versa) over Great Plains is notorious for ridiculously circuitous road routes where the cross-country option is mostly safe and much quicker but has a some sudden and hard to see bluffs and boulders that are just enough to wreck a wagon if you aren't reading your terrain properly on the minimap.

    Shark Cards Vs. Grinding

No, people who say stuff like that and think everything would suddenly change can't grasp how financially secure Rockstar is and how vast the community is. To begin with, the effects of "not buying shark cards" won't just show up within a day, it will take months or even years. Heck, you may even need to weaponize a global pandemic for that to happen, which blows away such argument. It's even worse if you suddenly decide to do that 7 years later, all the while Rockstar economy kept booming all these years. At this point, by the time you notice any sort of effect, the next GTA title would've been released, causing the next "Big Bang" in terms of revenue. For such a massive community, the minority, of whom we consider to be people who bought a shark card, most likely represent a great percentage of people, not only that, but it's still to this day that the game keeps retaining its place among the top ten games, which mean a ton of new players join in every year, the kind of players who risk buying a shark card. Also, at such rate, who knows if this could raise as an alternative of people buying a shark card. And, it was only recently that the game was offered for free on Epic launcher, which would mean Epic must've paid quite a ton of money to secure such deal. So, you are better off saving the wasted breath and hope that something will change within Rockstar, for them to alter the state of the game.

    Mafia: The Trilogy

I just spent about 5 hours on this game so far (Just finished Omerta on Medium difficulty). So far, it's a pretty solid game, and it's a real bang for its buck especially for $40. Driving and shooting feels more or less like Mafia 3, and that's not a bad thing considering the cars and gunplay just feel really weighty and fluid, which is always a plus. That said, I'd have to agree with Vavra's statement that the red exploding barrels thingy feels like a cheap and cliched gameplay feature. Spec Ops: The Line could pull this type of creative, intuitive environmental weapon mechanic with the use of sand and glass, so I don't see why this game couldn't follow suit. This version of Lost Heaven has certainly been a joy to drive around, and it's definitely much more period-authentic than the original. The layout of the city and countryside, the radio, decor, fashion, accents and cars are all a nice touch, and definitely add to the overall the 30s Chicagoan, Great Depression atmosphere of this game. I think listening to a old-timey broadcast of a baseball game between the Empire Bay and Lost Heaven teams while tailing Frank in Omerta was really memorable. That said, while I can understand why things like trams, trains, diners, bars and gas stations aren't available for use in the game, it would have been a nicer touch to enhance the replay value and immersion, considering Free Ride is available as a gameplay option. Glitches and bugs are relatively minor, though definitely not as bad as Mafia 3. When they do happen, however, they are generally very humorous, though they can sometimes break the immersion, especially whenever there is a transition between gameplay to cutscene, and vice versa. I hope the day 1 patch fixes most of these issues. Speaking of cutscenes, they're just beautiful, both in cinematography and acting. The acting is as great as RDR2 and Mafia 3, and features a lot of the nuanced elements that I felt were absent in the original. Mocap is LA Noire tier in my opinion, and you can kind of pick out all of the subtle facial cues on all the characters throughout the storyline, which is kind of cool. Love the attention to detail there. Casting isn't too bad, I can understand why OG fans don't like it, but so far, I've actually enjoyed it a lot more than the original. Andrew Bongiorno did a great job as Tommy (though after watching his Lancer commercial I can't stop picturing Tommy with an Aussie accent). Here's some screenshots I've taken so far. Really highlights the amount of effort they put in to create this distinct visual style that sets it apart from Mafia 3, despite its similar gameplay. Radio songs are pretty good, a nice selection of jazz and easy listening tunes by the likes of Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and Django Reinhardt. That said I wished more Big Band songs were in this game and it's a shame that The Mills Brothers weren't included here. Original score is fantastic, and holds a candle up to the original. Seeing the effort and process of scoring the music gave me a greater appreciation for it as well. As for story, more or less the same as the original game, but executed a lot better. A lot of the plot holes from the original are resolved here and there is plenty of character development for most of the characters, namely the relationship between Sam, Paulie and Tommy, between Tommy and Sarah as well as between Morello and Salieri, though I'm sure a lot of people caught that from the previews already. Tommy is definitely more headstrong and ruthless and seems to be more cut out for mob life in this, but I don't think that's a bad thing, though I do understand it was precisely Tommy's vulnerability and morality in the original which made Mafia: City of Lost Heaven a unique game. I also like the collectibles featured in the game, as well as the general sense of continuity between all three games, especially the establishment of the close relationship between Lost Heaven and Empire Bay. All in all, I think Hangar 13 did a fantastic job on this remake, and props to all of the team and the VAs (especially Jeremy Luke) for going out of their way and overcoming their hardships to make a great game especially during this difficult period, and it's just a shame that this game feels like its generally overshadowed by titans like Cyberpunk and Watch Dogs Legion and that a certain sect of the fanbase can't really accept this game as part of the series. It's a vast improvement over Mafia 3 in terms of quality, and it's easily it an 8/10 in my book. Can't wait to see what kind of DLCs they have in mind for this, if there are any.

    Cyberpunk 2077

I'm going to be less strict on my self-imposed embargo for some Cyberpunk news. I've been checking out www.nightcity.love and I saw this screen. Takes me back to 2004 when I had this free magazine from a local DVD rental store that did a preview on San Andreas. In it was a screenshot of the spaghetti junction. I couldn't believe that San Andreas' map could be so big that it would warrant a spaghetti junction. When I saw this screen.. I got the same excitement.... Can't wait to drive down this freeway... Can't wait to explore this grimey neighbourhood. Something really alluring about really dank, crime-infested areas in videogames..

    GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 4]

RDR2 got announced 2 weeks after Mafia III released. I'm playing Mafia definitive edition right now. Feels like 2016 again. Mafia and a new Watch Dogs.

The new Gauntlet gets minus points since C* slammed the wedge on the wrong car. It doesn't suit with Gauntlet's proportions and it makes such a weak sound for a muscle car to begin with. They could have at least used the new Beater Dukes as a basis if overpricing was the goal.

Things You Didn't Know About RDR:O

This is one of the reasons I miss more ppl in the lobbies, everytime a guy try to lasso me I use the laugh emote, most of them get angry and attack me opening the oportunity to kill them at least two times without losing the defensive :).

Things you do that nobody else does in RDO.

Yep, men and their "shortcuts". My husband is not allowed to ride my babies for that reason, usually, unless it is a dire emergency.
