I'll go further, they don't need to be a red blip, and in addition to your excellent suggestions as soon as someone pulls the trigger on a Defensive mode player they lose auto aim for a full in game day, the player they shot can now auto aim them while remaining in Defensive mode and they get an instant $20 bounty, making them eligible for being a player bounty target. Also, if they shoot a player who is totally defenceless, such as at a campfire, while fishing or while skinning an animal they loose access to all weapons for an in game day in addition to all of the above. Seriously

Every word of that is true, and yet I can't help but feel that Rockstar and Take Two betrayed the potential of their own game. It can be a remarkable experience on a good day with the right friends. It can also be the most miserable gaming experience you'll ever have. It disappoints me that they allow the latter scenario to exist just so they can rake in bucks. Especially when a hypothetical less-miserable version of the game would still be massively profitable.

That was the larger theme, of the single player game. And it wasn't hidden, Arthur makes that point many times during the game. Well if the complaint is related to the number of players and the reasons why one would think the lobbies broken over another because of that, than the discussion did not trail too far from the topic at hand. I personally do not think the lobbies are broken in any way, rather to me they work as they should have in the first place. Just because you feel they are broken because of loneliness on the server doesn't mean that is how others should feel, and they don't. Not trying to be rude, but the topic hasn't strayed far from the basic meat of the original post. I have only met a few true griefers in this game, and would have preferred not having to have to deal with the stress of those dealings. I call them griefers because it seems as though they were using exploits to change the game. And I do not know about many other players, but I rarely play with people other than my family, and even I have met other players through other means online to play along with me. You can also join a posse that is open to hang with other lonely players, is that what you are looking for? Pvp play is a little harder to get accomplished with like minded players if you don't know that's what they are gunning for, that's why other players see pvp players in such a negative way sometimes. They feel like the pvp player is forcing them into playing "their" game instead of the one they really want to play. I'm not trying to seem like I'm a toxic person. In honesty I'm rather friendly (and weird), but I'm also kind of shy when it comes to online games. I just prefer to hang with my friends and play the basic meat of the game. I personally would not consider you a griefer because you are retaliating against actions done against you. I believe everyone deserves a chance at revenge. But I would prefer not to be a moving target for someone who just wants to shoot at someone else if I am in defensive, and that's when I usually get attacked, when I am literally asking other players to leave me be. There's nothing against players wanting to start a gunfight with other players, but some don't want to see the obvious indications that players want to be left alone. And that's where people start getting mad.

I would see it as a large standalone DLC made in the same engine, sort of like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

GTA Online lets us go mountain biking/diving/swimming/golfing/tennis/darts/arm-wrestling/skydiving, customize and collect vehicles/guns/clothes, relax on a yacht, own businesses/bunkers/nightclubs, race cars/bikes/planes/boats, splurge on fake casino games, hyst banks/casinos/military research labs/prisons, roleplay as mafia/bikers/gangs/military/construction/police/fire/ems, deal drugs, steal cars, rampage in tanks/helicopters/jets, ETC...

that crappy online mode is the only reason V keeps breaking records and stays in the top 20 selling games week after week, as soon as they split the .exes V will plummet in sales, well, after the next gen sales die off anyway, while Online will continue to be in the top 20 selling games until VI comes out. also that crappy online mode is literally the only game like it, no other online game exists that contains even a fraction of the possibilities GTaO has. it has it's faults but it's still an entirely unique experience.

I've heard this from some other players, too, but it has not been my experience nor the experience of my friends that actually left the game, blaming griefing as the main reason. Without solo lobbies, I'd have left this game long ago. It's obvious from comments that some of us manage to avoid disruptive players while other players' experiences are more like the "When Justice Is Served" thread on this board. For the life of me, I can't figure out how it's happening, but it apparently is. Heck, someone in one of the "new" low population lobbies tried to pop me as I was fast traveling. I wasn't sure if I was going to come out of fast travel and be greeted with a death screen. That, along with a few other pluses, will keep me glitching solos for as long as I can.

I think I usually just lasso a wandering npc off of their horse, wait til their dot turns red and then trample them. Be careful if they're in pairs as the second rider will likely open fire.

And red blip players should have all ability cards and tonic use disabled in free roam, wider range of auto aim on them and a large hitbox.

Everything you said is not wrong....but I dont like to play old content, even if its "remaked". I want to play new games. And if GTA6 is setted in Vice City, its not automatically a remake of GTA:Vice CIty....you should know the difference

I think this nails it. What happened for GTA IV was a decade and a half ago, almost. It's unlikely, almost impossible we'll have an announcement with a trailer coming months later.

Same with children. We have teenage urchins living on Saint-Denis in SP but that's about it. Arthur cant kill them so why not add them? Just have our character shake their head when we try and fire at them to make us feel bad. Same with children Jacks age.

Have you noticed that there are only fully grown adult animals in RDR2/RDO, I wonder why R* didn’t have younger versions of animals, just thought about earlier... for the realism aspect in the game where are all these animals coming from heh! I mean even if we couldn’t kill the younger animals as may some players wouldn’t enjoy killing them like the adults etc. Even if they could be killed, players have the choice not to kill them anyway! Of course it’s not that big of a deal, anyway, but maybe it will come in the future if a Farming / Animal Breeding Roles Role where we breed most of the animals in the game or something.

RDR1 was released over 10 years ago... and not everyone had the change to play it. Its like saying you don't see a reason to remake Vice City with RDR2 level of graphics just cause you played it before in 2002 lol. And if they were to remake RDR1 ofc they would add a loooot of new content and new missions to it. They would probably use the whole map of RDR2, not only the New Austin part. We would probably get more missions with Sadie and Charles for example. So in a way you could get the same amount of content you would normally get with a new SP dlc + rdr1 storyline on top of it. edit: and here's the kicker, if something like that dosn't interests you at all, simply don't buy it. Problem solved. Its not like they would force you to do it.

It's called conversation. You say lobbies are still broken but don't elaborate. For me, lobbies have been working pretty darn well.

I always got a chuckle when I hear that rolled out as a reason' for constant random chaos/griefing in free roam lobbies. They seem to forget that the 'real Wild West' could never operate like that for one simple reason: No respawns. Any uppity Outlaw or gunslinger who got trigger-happy would soon end up on the wrong side of a shootout with lawmen, another outlaw, or a posse thrown together to put a stop to any 'reign of terror...and that would be that. Unlike GTA or Red Dead, you can't just gallop a mile or two away from the scene of a crime and have society conveniently forget the whole "shot up a saloon and stole a stagecoach" thing. They'll keep hunting you until your dead. I'm sure most 'outlaws' probably wanted to live long lives, rich on whatever ill-gotten loot they obtained. So they had to behave themselves and act 'civilized' most of the time...or else. Real life tends to be self-correcting in terms of instilling 'civilized' behavior in most of the people most of the time. Perma-death is not something to be trifled with. If griefers or fly-by-PvP'ers agreed to operate in "Hardcore" mode, whereby when they died they lost all character progression and had to start from scratch...well then *that* would be a bit more like the 'real' wild west. Would they agree to it? I'm sure plenty would. That would be an interesting server environment. You'd know pretty quick who the real bad-azzes were if they could live life violently and still survive.
