I have seen this with some of my in-game friends. They play this game to escape their sh*tty real life, but it doesn't work that way. The more they played, the more depressed they got. For those who think this game cures depression: it doesn't, only causes more. Take a break, play something else or go outside.

I agree take a break or walk away. That's what I did. This game didn't help my depression.

This, and just do something you actually LIKE to do, whether it's in this game or another.

I would love to have like some more 1940's cars, like an old Cadillac or Buick, like the Broadway. They could take some inspiration from LA Noire. I was kinda disappointed when I saw the Hermes was bagged down. I felt that should have been a Benny option instead of that being the standard. Old luxury cars are a thing of beauty and adding a few old Mercedes, Dusenburgs, Cadillacs, would be cool. I still say the Chino should have been a four door like the Lincoln Continental. There should have been an option to put the red police light on the dashboard of the Cheetah Classic like the VC Vice Cheetah And I still want my four door V8 Polaris from VC and the Oceanic from SA

I think the obstacle or the issue at hand, is how it should be approached from a design perspective, like how to make a mansion truly feels like its yours. Cause you know, the curtilage of a mansion should be big and vast enough. And that put us in a similar situation as when we were discussing the casino roof, like how could they provide us with a safe space and the popular assumption was some sort of protective bubble encompassing it, only to turns out it's just an exposed open-space area, which wasn't much of a big deal, mainly due to how the casino is technically a global space. However, I can hardly see them pulling it off with mansions in the same way, cause you don't wanna see two dudes battling it out in your front yard when you walk out of your palazzo to freshen up a little bit. It could work out in a new place, assuming the entirely new location is an island or a new city, with some sort of restrictive measures or something like that. Or, it could operate in the same way as the casino, a residence of the highest class marked with five stars with S on it, that could allow other players to enjoy the scenery, while offering you ample space to experience your own personal entertainment.

Hey, folks. This thread is in danger of being a repeat moan about recent account resets, so apologies in advance if it comes across as another B&M. I am having problems with my mindset over the last couple of weeks and would like to ask for your collective help and opinions. Two weeks ago, many of my online friends had their accounts wiped and reset by Rockstar, sending them back to zero. However, two weeks on, most of them are back to 'normal' and have raked in fifties of millions. I am fine with this because they are my online friends and I want them to have all of the vehicles and properties that they need to play the game the way I do, but the cheating has gone overboard on console and other players who were not involved in previous glitches are doing so as well. The reset has had the effect of making people more determined than ever before to generate as much glitched cash as possible, which is disturbing. I know this could come across as me being peevish or jealous, or maybe even contradictory to my previous opinions (feel free to say so) but the amount of cheating makes the game seem more and more worthless to me now. Doing simple things like Headhunter or a Business Battles for small change feels pointless. Literally, I have more cash than I can realistically spend (sorry for the boast), but seeing everyone generate a million or more in minutes and then repeat that over and over again, doing speed runs and competing with each other in the process, makes anything associated with the grind seem pathetic. I have no incentive to sell my bunker or nightclub or grind yet more cash, and I wanted to reach out to people on these forums and ask their opinion about this? I feel like it could be time to take a significant break from this game and only play it on specific days and maybe disconnect from certain people, or maybe just relax and accept the game as economically broken and corrupt? Whatever your thoughts, in-game glitching has gotten much worse since the account resets.

I think you're right. GTA online (at least on console) is focused on making money, which means that most people grind or glitch all the time depending on their financial situation. Having fun and doing what you want means that you quickly fall behind, which is what happens when you spend all your time in creator, for example: you come out of it and you have no cash. The same goes for racing lobbies: you finish the playlist and have only a small amount cash. This leaves people with few options: buy shark cards or go for a starter pack? Sure, that's a good option at first, but not for regular players who just want to log on and play. It's an endless conundrum: I care about this game because I've been playing it for 20 years, and I also have many friends in various crews, but I don't think I should play any of Rockstar's games any more because they're so economically imbalanced.

I know this might not be the answer you're looking for but imo you have absolutely no reason to complain about people making easy money since some of the cash you have more of than you can spend comes from some of the same activities as they do now It shouldn't come as a surprise people went this route now either, can't imagine a large % of the players that got a reset actually would want to start from scratch in this grindy game without any possibilities of boosting their income like this, this is all on R* for making the game the grindy mess it is now. For everyone saying it's easier than ever to make money, try starting from scratch with a new character and log how many hours it takes you to get set with all properties and businesses you need to make all that "easy" money

It probably has, but it also depends who you're playing with. For me, nothing really changed, because nobody I regularly play with did the glitch. (I also would have told them not to do it, if they had found out about it.) If they had done the glitch though, got reset, and are now glitching heist finales non-stop, then yeah, I'd probably not play the game until the December DLC. Or maybe once a week. I don't think this game is worth it as a solo experience. I think it's the other way around. Depression leads to video game addiction. GTA Online is designed to be addictive, but it doesn't affect everyone who plays it, therefore it can't be the sole cause.

I have long since abandoned GTA for 'playing it the way Rockstar intend' because I have little to no interest (and little to no talent!) in pandering to what used to be a drive-em-up with occasional shootouts, and accepting it as a Battle Royale against glitching players, aimbot NPCs, and action pieces that even Michael Bay would consider "A bit excessive". I log on occasionally, never load into a publicly-open lobby, and just drive around or have some airborne fun. And then I step away and do something new or more enjoyable. GTA is a game first and foremost. It's not a lifestyle or a drug to become addicted to.

I would like to see a role based on melee combat, enhanced, with more weapon types, features, clothes and facepaints.

Bounty Hunting is as close to Lawman as I have any interest in getting, I wanna be a real freaking Outlaw already.

I don't know if it's ever been mentioned before, but has anyone ever noticed Karen Daniels (Michelle) has a ton of voice lines? It seems she and Trevor would've met at one point, as she has lines for in case Trevor dies, including some referring to him as "The tool"

It's why I didn't gel with my attempts to crew up. I do admire the positives it can bring, but I much prefer to play my game of it and add up players that are similar. I love co-op and team play of course, but I love my alone time too. I tend to gel best with players that are pretty independent and in a less committed way so no one gets miffed, frustrated, bored, compromised (like this by doing more glitching for example), or left out in situations like glitching or grinding or just doing anything they don't fancy while we each understand we'll all be back together again soon enough, sometimes a bigger group of us, other times we pair up alone or whatever takes our fancy. Take this week for example, I'll likely lose a couple buddies temporarily that'll want to maximise the bunker, I'll get back in touch with a few that wanna boost diamond loot from the casino, and it just changes about all the time given the weekly bonuses and what we fancy at the same time. Was bad enough that I did grind for the Go-Go Blista, and though I tried the one glitch (the lost van), it's why I don't glitch cash or grind any either, it's boring. Take cash out of it, I can't just do the same activity all the time regardless, I have to mix it up, lol. And as I enjoy GTA, money will come like it always has. I've played long enough to know it's easy if you ignore the money aspect and just play for fun. On call can be awesome. If I do fancy some co-op and friends aren't available for any reason, on call I go. That or when I've had a busy spell and fancy a break, off I go too. My mates are the same and we know we'll hook up again soon enough. I prefer adding folk of similar mind and that are at home playing a bit of whatever but content alone too if I'm not or they're not in the mood for anything specific. No one gets grumpy, no one feels compelled to join in on activities they dislike or are bored of, you know? I'd take a break or go it alone for a bit and let them figure it out for themselves for a spell. You didn't get wiped as you read your warning and opted not to glitch further, if they don't understand that you can help here and there but not full time, it'd be a shame, but you need to assert your limits on this somewhat as it'll hurt your game of it more and more. Potentially leading to fallout as friends become more expectant of you helping too. But outside of you and your group, forget about others and how many there are glitching or grinding. I give it no thought and its never affected my game and won't, unless I want it to like I showed above where I tried a small grind or a little glitch. To me, in general glitchin' and grindin' just don't exist in my GTA:O, I tune out if any buddies talk of any, and skip over posts here that highlight any too. I'm sitting on $164m and change, hundreds of unlockables like this week's Kill Bill outfit and more, all the toys I built up along the way too and I love being in this position and enjoy helping players hit co-op goals, but I still just like to play my game all too much. My main goal currently us $175m, then I'll rethink that probably to $200m, lol. (Though I would like a good stash for next gen just in case the worst happens and lobby choice go from the game and it becomes more like RDRO - I never, ever ever ever, want to rely on public businesses, lol). When ya jump on next, hide 'offline' and just mix it up and have some alone time. Smash some noobs on races, the arena or DMs, add up a complete noob that's stuck on a Fleeca or something and teach them to not rely on glitches as best as, or chip away at a few awards or other goals you might fancy. It helps to play your game for you at least a little.

From personal experience when I took a break from GTA online I was also not here the 2 or so year(s) either. That seemed to enhance my pleasure once I finally got back into GTA online. I've never understood how some people claim to hate GTA and or Rockstar but are always in the GTA online section of this forum complaining about this or that, or seems to just be negative or nasty to those who actually enjoy this game or even dare I say it buy shark cards. I apologize if I seem to be singling you out OP because that wasn't my intention. As far as the game feeling 'worthless' well that's subjective because I never saw anyone say this back in November of 2013 during the billionaire bounty days. People , myself included, saw those times as the most fun and enjoyable because everyone, for a short time at least, was playing the game how they wanted to or what was fun for them, even though there was basically nothing in the game of any substance. So my advice would be that if you choose to break from GTA online you'd also choose to break from the GTA online section of this forum. That's what I did and GTA online has never been better since I came back.

"Trump's stance" has seen him denigrate the value of service for those captured in the line of duty. It's something he's done repeatedly over the years. Much of this has been directed at a political opponent, but comments like "I like people who weren't captured" are general. I mean pro-Trump outlets like Fox News also confirmed the validity of the story that The Atlantic ran. If it's solely a hack job without a wink of truth, why have outlets that are normally glowing in their praise of Trump run with it? A man with prior history for insulting veterans, who also has a reputation stretching back decades for generally being unpleasant, petulant disrespectful, does some petulant and disrespectful things. While we're at page 400, guess i'll make a second post (I guess you're lucky). To everybody wishing for the USS Lexington (I'm with you) Well i finally saw The Hunt for Red October... I already wanted the RAMIUS as a personal submarine... But now I NEED ONE... The big problem with gta was the excessive militarisation and futuristic bullsh*t... But now that we went through it, why not playing the much cooler card of the respected war veteran ? Remember that we saved the f*cking world in that stupid doomsday heist. We should be able to buy an aircraft carrier (reskin of the USS Lexington) AND A SUBMARINE ! (reskin of the Ramius submarine) Our character is now very respected and seen almost like a legend among the government (the aicraft carrier and submarine should be accessible only from rank 100+) Having different types of honorific military clothes and uniforms would be great to represent our seniority in the game. Note that not showing any flag would be better. This way we could fill in the blanks to our liking and pretend we are from the country we want. Let me add that french "képis" and russian "chapkas" / "ouchankas" would be wonderful to have in the game. The traditional french képi used in the french army : The famous chapka / ouchanka of the russian army : Two military salute animations would also be really cool. It could function like this : Military salute animation Simple tap = simple salute (can be done while walking) Double tap = our character does an animation where he stands at attention and salute Double tap and holding = our character does an animation where he stands at attention and salute as long as we keep holding the button Military stand animation A variation of the "Military salute" animation could also be made. It would be the same but without the hand gesture. Simply standing formely. A new walking animation could also be made as an option, involving a much more straight and formal walk. UNIFORMS (Each ranks comes in multiple color variations) Rank 100 unlocks a basic soldier outfit with no decoration. Rank 200 unlocks a slightly more refined outfit with a few decorations. The big stuff. 1 THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER "When a yacht is not enough and a submarine is too subtle to content your inner dictatorship fantaisies" Essentially a weaponized yacht that has practicality to it... While your yacht would amaze the peasents onshore, your aircraft carrier would scare the unwanted curiouses offshore... Just like the yachts, the aircraft carrier could come in three distinctive body variations (not interfering with gameplay but just for badass look) Names could be : 1 : Lexington 2 : Dreadnought 3 : Shinano What could it do... ? 1 Not technically an ability but customizing it to look like any country's ship would be great. Along the obvious possibility to choose for the color of the exterior AND the interior SEPARATELY. The name of the ship is also the player's choice. 2 It could serve as a multi purpose garage. One 10 spots garage for sea vehicles and one 10 spots garage for small and medium size air vehicles. The "boat" garage would finaly let us customize the color of our submarines and boats. The "plane garage" would work in a same way as the hangars. 3 New missions working in a similar way to the Terrorbyte ones but this time involving naval interception and destruction of enemy military equipment. The payouts should be between 50 000 $ and 60 000 $ With a reasonable cooldown similar to the one on the Terrorbyte but a bit longer. 4 The possibility to navigate around the map like the yachts (this time it costs 50 000 $) 5 With a massive anti air defense system, this monster will pulverize anything coming too close. Note that the range of the anti air defense system of the ship should be represented by some type of red circle surrounding the vessel on the map. When activated, unwanted players have 10 seconds to depart until then they will be hunted by army npc soldiers and planes on the ship and any unwanted plane with a player onboard will explode instently. (An instant death to anyone staying until the alert ends, thus informing that the ship will enter combat mode and be hostile to other players) 2 I PRESENT YOU... THE BALLISTIC MISSILE SUBMARINE RED OCTOBER (of course from the same director of Die Hard and Predator, this movie was doomed to kick my ass and it did flawlessly) Working like an underwater aircraft carrier. While everything would be fine and dandy up here... This beast could serve as a real mega bonga terminal nerve center, far away from the costs... Just like the yachts, the submarine could come in three distinctive body variations (only for look) Names could be : 1 : Leviathan 2 : Nautilus 3 : Bloody October What could it do... ? 1 Same as the aircraft carrier. Customization options to look more or less like a russian submarine would be great. Along the possibility to choose for the color of the exterior and the interior separately once again. The name of the submarine is up to the player. 2 It could serve as an underwater garage for sea vehicles allowing up to 5 garage spots. (You can only use the vehicles when the submarine is in "emerged mode". More on that later) 3 The possibility to buy supply for every businesses from the submarine. 4 The possibility to choose if the submarine is showing at the top of the sea or to dive underwater. "Emerged mode" and "Submerged mode" (Making it work just like a yacht but with two positions with a simple animation making it rise or drop into the abyss) Note that moving the submarine costs 100 000 $. 5 While in submerged mode, it could have a research team that scans the abyss for wrecks and so on to provide a daily payment just like the arcade. (The daily payment would be 2500 $ but the submarine could fill up to 500 000 $ thus dwarfing the 50 000 $ limitation of the arcade) 6 When in emerged mode, a special animation can be played in the main control room. You can look into the snorkel to see what's going on outside and around the submarine. And that's all ! ... Later folks !

I don't get how we are broken out of prison, then are told by the person who broke us out to help out the local sherifs. I never realised this till now but it's kinda weird.
