Gambling isn't allowed in that country so they'll never add the casi...they changed the building? Oh well, we won't get to rob the cas.... There never gonna make a cops-n-cro...you found what Fun? There won't be a map expansion...

Nah, just a wild guess. The way I see it, we aren't likely to hear anything new until we draw closer to release and I suspect the marketing campaign will start a few weeks prior to release and will be the biggest and most intense of GTAO updates standards. I would love to see them announcing it early, but the info may dry up over time, whereas concentrating all the info into the few weeks before release would build up the anticipation and flame up the speculation.

I suspected the mood here would worsen during dry weeks and lack of drip-feed, but I can see the discussion around the new location ongoing for months to come. Hard to imagine what it would be like if we didn't receive early notice of it.

There is a reason the next gen versions are being called "expanded". What is coming this winter is just a taste of what is to come on Ps5/XBox Series X. That is how they will get all our money...again.

Not affected, didn't glitch. I'd be more on R*'s side if they took god mode glitchers, orbital cannon abusers etc just as seriously as they did with those who glitch money. And not being funny, but I have zero sympathy for R* considering the amount of bullsh*t game bugs that has cost me millions in lost deliveries, without even including losing my cargo to griefers. So yeah, I agree cheaters and money glitchers need to be punished, but we need consistency here.

I'd love a map expansion of course. But if it doesn't happen, this thread is gonna be so much fun to read given some have already set their hearts on it now.

Okay so I'm really over the moon right now, turned up in a lobby of 5 people and so far I've got 2 treasure maps. One was from an ambush while I was riding to see Hamish and the other I was doing a mail run from Angus and came across a treasure hunter, approached her to see if I could buy it off her but started shooting at me then when I was doing the final stop I came across the Katata Elk...So blasted that with a shotgun to get it's pelt haha. But as I've said in a previous post I love low lobbies cause this never happens to me when it's near full not to mention i'd probably would of been griefed half way doing those things.

By now, I'm confident this is intentional and not just another screw up by R*. If it was a screw up, I'm sure it would have been fixed by now. I don't know why they are doing this, but hopefully this means we might get IO lobbies after all...

I took a long walk through Saint Denis this evening. Lots of NPC's around, no lag, no morons shooting up the town, just me and a whole bunch of NPC life. Last time I enjoyed the sight of this city was when I played story mode. Found a beggar on a sidewalk, gave him 25ct a few times, until he gave me a perfect rat carcass. Never seen one in game before. These low pop lobbies are a total different experience from what we used to have in Online.

I can not speak, for anyone else. Speaking for myself, you might have a point. What I wanted, from RDR2O and GTAO; was an experience similar to story mode, with a custom made character. Solo sessions, get me close to that desire. The last week, has been an amazing experience. Sipping on bourbon, roaming the frontier, engaging NPCs, finding legendary animals, treasure maps, collectibles and stumbling upon sh*t, I didn't even know, was in the game. Amazing gameplay.

A few observations regarding the Broughy1322 reset. The PS4 version is Broughy's main account, so this will hit him at his core because it's the character he has built up for role playing since 2013 and it would have been the account he transferred to next gen. His XB1 and PC accounts are there to reach out to gamers across all platforms, but are not his 'invested' accounts. His PS4 character is still playable and he's got all his shark card money intact, but all his stats and progression have gone. He fully admits to doing the glitch. Also, he was involved in duping in some way in the past, so he might have been flagged by Rockstar when they had licence to wipe/reset after the necessary EULA/ToS incubation period; however, I don't think he received a formal warning (like many of us did), so it's a bit frustrating to see someone get targeted in this way when they're not a known cheater. In some ways, many of us have to be thankful for having been involved in glitches in the past and having received these warnings because we knew instinctively not to get involved in a glitch as easy as the apartment one, whereas Broughy seemingly wasn't aware of this. Obviously, he should have been more aware of the potential perils of glitching on console and the experiences of other people around him, but you can't be aware of everything and I'm not going to judge him for it either, especially as so many of my regular crew have been affected. From what I've seen, Rockstar want to make an example of people and establish some sort of hierarchy: it's their game, not ours, so they'll do what they want, and they didn't reset people who only did the glitch moderately because people genuinely could have traded in multiple apartments and banked the cash without thinking too much about it, but many people clearly did it hundreds of times and were fully aware of what they were doing, which surprised me because they really should have known better, but instead got greedy. At least Broughy admits to what he did, which is honorable, and he'll be alright in the long run because he's got donations popping up on his screen right as he's streaming, but he'll have his work cut out now to buy into Rockstar's vision of GTA online in the future and will become an ever bigger detractor, and I know Rockstar have called him out and punished him for this in the past. My gut feeling is that you don't bite the hand that feeds you (too much), which is my experience as a fella in his fifties. Even if GTA online is nothing more than a game to you; if you play it all the time, you should learn to nurture it and respect Rockstar's warnings or the game might not be same next time you log on. If you're invested in the game to make a living, then it may become a constant battle with Rockstar if you don't pay them enough dues (in their eyes).

Broughy1322's arguments pretty much nails down this whole situation. He also was NOT aware about the account adjustments after the Lester plane glitch and casino chips exploit. Everybody that played the game for over 7 years knew that any type of glitching/exploiting GTA$ in-game without using external tools is fair game. Until it wasn't anymore. As Broughy1332 pointed out, a very large number of players would have avoided the property pricing glitch entirelly if there was a quick official response on social media, specially anyone that has invested years on a single character or are not used to glitching/exploiting GTA$. The worst part on starting a new character is remembering that you need rank 100 to buy 100% armor on cars again and rank 63 to purchase all customization options on a few vehicles On the other hand, the game environment is a lot healthier now. Amirite? gets blown up by a god mode glitcher using an Oppressor mk2

If you don't want to engage a random encounter, I dunno maybe just ignore it: ride on by. As for me, I love having more to do. It's less boring, and there's more opportunity to make money and gold. Yay!

I've pretty much fininshed the tuning parts for the Buccaneer but I'm going to show all of it when the video review comes out, but since paintjobs aren't done yet it won't be recorded yet. Yeah thats the "joy" of playing gta online on PC. The constant worry of "did the bot f*ck up and ban me", "did some stupid cheater in the lobby get me flagged". And R* is not making ig better with their stupid policy. Well stuff like that is 99,9% safe for the simple reason that you personally not doing anything aside from playing a regular heist. Granted I too dont rejoin when I get an invite from the same person just for safety reasons but you are technicly not doing anything illegal since you are just playing a mission you got invited to in a normal fashion.

I hardly think so...like they didn't need to put the words "new location" when everyone can make the simple assumption that "new heist = new location", like duh. So, i really think it will be a new location that is not in the current map. If wasn't the case, why R* would make a statement that made players get hopes for, in fact, a new location, just for in the end not be the case and make R* get a backlash that could cost then their reputation and game sellings?

People are gonna be seething when they announce that the update will in fact be set on a new island but will only be accessible during the heist finale. They're going to tease it with the heist and only next gen players will have full free roam access to the island. I will bet money on this. I do think it's intentional too. On my 'has everything' main character, bootlegger free roam encounters spawn left, right and center. On my simpleton second character, none of those spawn. Other encounters, strangers and so, do spawn. So, I think the game has too much trouble loading, or not loading, events per player individually and has even more trouble merging players with different roles into 1 working open world. I remember running into a few moonshiner roadblocks on my simpleton character before, but those probably spawned because there was a moonshiner player near mine. Clearing it would be of no good for my character, since there is no mash price to reduct. With low populated lobbies, the game has far less trouble loading events and can probably use their system resources to load the normal basic open world events again. Just a wild guess, but putting 1 + 1 together does make 2 in this case....

No. Next gen GTAO is not free. It's free for the first 3 months on Playstation if you have PS Plus. Then you have to buy it. It is not a free upgrade, it's going to be a new game just like the jump from Ps3 to Ps4. x2 convenience store robberies is one of the best things they could do.

Imagine wasting VC on gtao instead of making GTA VI-ce city lol. Also theres no possible way they would waste their time to remake a 3d universe map in hd universe just for sum free dlc. Too much work. How about that time when they tried to block SP mods? There was a huge backlash and they quickly changed their mind. And baiting people like that would be a terrible PR move and their PR department knows it... Theres no way its gonna be just yet another building and thats it. Literally everyone is expecting a map expansion of some kind. lol no. They had sh*tton of other anniversaries over the years and they never addressed any of them. Also its way to early for any kind of info about the next dlc. And they market rly well. They ALWAYS use the right words and they know exactly what they should and shouldn't say. I could also say something about quoting you "tO rEmEmBeR tO lAuGh wHeN yOu aRe pRoVeN wRoNg" but lets be honest here... I won't care enough to even remember what you said. But I do agree with one thing, you should never be hopeful when it comes to gtao. Doesn't mean we can't speculate about what would make the most sense from a business point of view.

I wanted something like that in 2014/15. It's been too long now. Sure, it'd be nice, but I'd rather they just move on and have a new game. Adding SF/LV is a pipe dream, even for a hypothetical 'what if' question.

Driving around LS lately with the upcoming "new location" in mind, I've really payed attention to the city and the state it's in. The Mile High Club is obviously the eye-catcher, but there's quite a lot of construction sites and neglected areas about in and outside of the city. Regardless if the new location is a map expansion, the Mile High Club, or whatever, I hope they give LS a facelift at some point. If they finish the MHC, they really should finish the other construction sites as well. Finish them and maybe expand the city a bit, add new construction sites or whatever in the city outskirts. It doesn't have to be much, but what little they did with the Diamond Casino and all the arcades really helped out in refreshing LS if you ask me. It wouldn't hurt to see the city leave 2013 and evolve and expand a bit further towards 2020. Not when everything else in the game is more or less up to date with the present day.

I'm mentally prepared for this new location being just a new building in LS. I can't imagine how many people will get disapointed if that's the case. xD

I don't even know where this nobody came from but there's plenty of arguments with sufficient reasoning, logic, and speculation as to why there is a high chance of receiving Liberty City as a possible map expansion one day. Literally no one should be listening to anything he says. I've (along with some others) listed multiple points to explain my reasoning as to why it is possible in multiple areas of this forum. I'll list them again all in one place if he wants to see an argument... -Houser's, Sarwar, and Benzies mentioned multiple times in 2012,2013 that they wanted to see a Grand Theft Auto game which included all they're previously made cities ; “Of course at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas,” Benzies said. https://www.ign.com/articles/2012/12/14/rockstar-wants-to-put-all-grand-theft-auto-cities-in-one-game -To the people saying 'entirely new location means adding a small island because it has to be something new to GTA.' With the learning that Rockstar was working on a CNC, that means they were listening. Now they go and mention New Location, Big Update, Next Chapter in GTA Online... To the people that say, 'iT wOuLd TaKe ToO lOnG' are right and wrong, it would take a long time to redo/revamp Liberty from scratch like San Fierro and Las Venturas. BUT, LC is already a basic blueprint for what needs to be done which cuts down on the time for work. Based on some things we've learned about an employee's portfolio about 3/4 years ago, there is a legit, updated Middle Park image. It is unknown if this was just a freelance project the employee was messing with or actual development so it leads to speculation that something has been worked on in Liberty City in the past so what stops them from working on it between then and now? They have development teams all over the world and have had 7 years to work on things. Its not that hard to see they have the ability to do this guys. -GTA Online has been announced for Next Gen as a stand-alone title from GTA. This leads to my main theory that the current developers are continuing what was originally intended by the Houser's and former Rockstar President Leslie Benzies by adding all the previous cities into one platform, Online, which will definitely take a long time to implement. As I said before, LC is the other HD era city so naturally that would be the first one added while the team is developing content for GTA 6. That would give the new player base who never had GTA 4 a 'new' area to explore and the old player base a memory to explore, while R* is milking the 7 year old game for more Shark Cards. Once GTA 6 is complete, which is more likely to be a larger Vice City, Caribbean Island, Gulf Coast inclusion with a mix of swamps, islands, and beaches, will then be added to the Online title along with updated San Fierro and Venturas at a much later time. -For the ones saying the server cannot handle the two maps together; we simply go to Los Santos International, purchase a plane ticket for whichever insufferable price tag they put on it, and go to a loading cutscene, load into the Liberty City server, and land at Francis International in Dukes. We spend enough time in the clouds already, spending a little more time being stuck in a plane in the clouds won't hurt. The intro to GTA Online is exactly us in a cutscene landing at LSIA so they could reuse that and make a new one for Liberty. They've also done this flying between airports in GTA San Andreas so it could be worked out for this. -There are plenty of unused characters from GTA 4 that are still alive which could be used as contacts for missions mixed in with contacts from 5 Online and entirely new contacts. Tony could reference Luis for nightclub work in LC, Agent 14 can have an old New York bomb shelter and set us up with Armando and Henrique for Gunrunning. Packie is a potential member of our Crews if we rescue him so he could reference places to hyst with Lester; the diamond district in New York (Liberty) is rich with places to rob full of Gold, Diamonds, Cash, and Jewelry. The museum in Middle Park also has some antiquities that would profit big from a hyst. Yusuf Amir could be interesting to work with...this needs not saying, he already had us hyst a subway car, who knows what else he could want. -*(This is purely SPECULATION)* For the Niko Bellic people, Lester has already mentioned Niko Bellic saying he went dark, who else went dark at one time? Micheal Townley De Santa who came back to the hyst business with Trevor. If Packie returned with our crew to Liberty, maybe he could convince Niko to hyst with him for one last time? -There are plenty of apartments to be added in Liberty City to choose from high end with amazing views of Middle Park, Star Junction, Statue of Hapiness, Broker Bridge, mansions in Alderny, and low end apartments all over the place. Plenty of car park garages and warehouses for CEO businesses, a hangar at Francis International, there was a casino in Alderny...The Firefly Island park could be a working park now with Ferris Wheel, Rollercoaster, QUB3D, and Fun's Go karts. -Bowling -Adding Liberty City would definitely boost Shark Card sales and give people a reason to want to repurchase GTA Online on Next Gen, I'm sorry, a small, unimportant island off the coast of Los Santos with one hyst is not really a good resell point. (Sorry Piro don't hate me please! lol) GTA is 7 years old now and still kicking strong despite the server issues and idiots on oppressors. Rockstar wants to keep that up but they need something BIG. GTA 4 Liberty City is honestly not that big of a map compared to 5 but its not small either. Its the perfect concept to keep people happy and buying Sharks. This is all speculation but would be the best, logical option for Rockstar to increase their profits and continue keeping people on their game. The thing is, some players here actually like the "on edge" thing. Read some of the comments. Personally, I'm not looking for that and I'm still playing in solo lobbies to avoid knuckleheads (I have a LD delivery to do this afternoon). I still play CoD and Battlefield (yup, I said it) and I get all of the PvP action I need there--plus I feel it's handled much better (or maybe it's just that I like the weapons...). I never viewed RDO as a PvP experience after reading the early promotional material. When I got here and found out the Rockstar's advertising was misleading, I jumped at the chance when glitched solo lobbies were found and have been using them most of the time since.

Pass complete almost, I'll do the last rank with a few dailies/random stuff tomorrow. Game's been bloody perfect for me, about time I got some excellent enjoyment out of it too. More of the same please, R*! I feel ya @IamCourtney. It would be great to see R* deliver so no one has to compromise but R* themselves and offer everyone the game they keep promising. I'm just hoping it holds out longer and longer as is so R* get untold sh*t if they screw things up again.

What an ironic username for that comment there won’t be a map expansion. It’ll be the same game we currently have with 4K and 60fps capability on consoles, combined with increased ped and traffic density. Most of the new cars from Online will be added to SP and to MP traffic, and there’ll maybe be a handful of new sidemissions in SP. That’s it. Expecting anything more is setting yourself up for disappointment.

Yeah, 2x crates no doubt. Also, to each their own, but Dawn Raid is f*ckin lit yo. Would love to see a 3x on it.

That is unreal. My complaint is why don't the animals start slowing down once they have a few rounds of sedative in them? You can fire six rounds straight into the side of a normal antelope and the darn thing takes off like a bullet and is hard to track? And don't get me started on those gators! I will not leave an animal, even a digital one, to possibly drown in the water (shhh) so I have to go out after them and try to lasso them back onto land. Usually it hurts. Why do these animals get that energy?

Before GTA VI, would people like a GTA: Episodes from Los Santos and GTA North Yankton? These would be 100% single player games. Or better yet GTA: Episodes from San Andreas, complete with San Fierro and Las Venturas added. When GTA VI comes out we could have GTA: Episodes from Vice City as single player DLC. Just a thought/dream.
