TL/DR warning but its good. I don't even know where this nobody came from but there's plenty of arguments with sufficient reasoning, logic, and speculation as to why there is a high chance of receiving Liberty City as a possible map expansion one day. Literally no one should be listening to anything he says. I've (along with some others) listed multiple points to explain my reasoning as to why it is possible in multiple areas of this forum. I'll list them again all in one place if he wants to see an argument... -Houser's, Sarwar, and Benzies mentioned multiple times in 2012,2013 that they wanted to see a Grand Theft Auto game which included all they're previously made cities ; “Of course at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas,” Benzies said. https://www.ign.com/articles/2012/12/14/rockstar-wants-to-put-all-grand-theft-auto-cities-in-one-game -To the people saying 'entirely new location means adding a small island because it has to be something new to GTA.' The Newswire Post said "... and the biggest ever update for GTA Online, featuring our latest take on Heists in an entirely new location." In my opinion, For GTA Online means entirely new location to GTA Online, not a new location from nothing before in the GTA Universe. (LC would be an entirely new location for hysts in GTA Online. MY opinion!). -Liberty City is one of those things like Cops-N-Crooks, a lot of people have asked and begged, and would like to see it. With the learning that Rockstar was working on a CNC, that means they were listening. Now they go and mention New Location, Big Update, Next Chapter in GTA Online... This language sounds like Map Expansion Language and I would say 7 years later is a good time to add an expansion on a game that is still one of the most played games daily. "until the next major GTA Online update hits later this year: the next chapter in the GTA Online story and an all-new take on Heists." https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/61666/Los-Santos-Summer-Special-in-GTA-Online Next Chapter in the Story sounds like new place to me, not a small island on the coast of Los Santos. (Sorry Piro) -Liberty City is the only other HD era city. To the people that say, 'iT wOuLd TaKe ToO lOnG' are right and wrong, it would take a long time to redo/revamp Liberty from scratch like San Fierro and Las Venturas. BUT, LC is already a basic blueprint for what needs to be done which cuts down on the time for work. Based on some things we've learned about an employee's portfolio about 3/4 years ago, there is a legit, updated Middle Park image. It is unknown if this was just a freelance project the employee was messing with or actual development so it leads to speculation that something has been worked on in Liberty City in the past so what stops them from working on it between then and now? They have development teams all over the world and have had 7 years to work on things. Its not that hard to see they have the ability to do this guys. -GTA Online has been announced for Next Gen as a stand-alone title from GTA. This leads to my main theory that the current developers are continuing what was originally intended by the Houser's and former Rockstar President Leslie Benzies by adding all the previous cities into one platform, Online, which will definitely take a long time to implement. As I said before, LC is the other HD era city so naturally that would be the first one added while the team is developing content for GTA 6. That would give the new player base who never had GTA 4 a 'new' area to explore and the old player base a memory to explore, while R* is milking the 7 year old game for more Shark Cards. Once GTA 6 is complete, which is more likely to be a larger Vice City, Caribbean Island, Gulf Coast inclusion with a mix of swamps, islands, and beaches, will then be added to the Online title along with updated San Fierro and Venturas at a much later time. -For the ones saying the server cannot handle the two maps together; we simply go to Los Santos International, purchase a plane ticket for whichever insufferable price tag they put on it, and go to a loading cutscene, load into the Liberty City server, and land at Francis International in Dukes. We spend enough time in the clouds already, spending a little more time being stuck in a plane in the clouds won't hurt. The intro to GTA Online is exactly us in a cutscene landing at LSIA so they could reuse that and make a new one for Liberty. They've also done this flying between airports in GTA San Andreas so it could be worked out for this. -There are plenty of unused characters from GTA 4 that are still alive which could be used as contacts for missions mixed in with contacts from 5 Online and entirely new contacts. Tony could reference Luis for nightclub work in LC, Agent 14 can have an old New York bomb shelter and set us up with Armando and Henrique for Gunrunning. Packie is a potential member of our Crews if we rescue him so he could reference places to hyst with Lester; the diamond district in New York (Liberty) is rich with places to rob full of Gold, Diamonds, Cash, and Jewelry. The museum in Middle Park also has some antiquities that would profit big from a hyst. Yusuf Amir could be interesting to work with...this needs not saying, he already had us hyst a subway car, who knows what else he could want. -*(This is purely SPECULATION)* For the Niko Bellic people, Lester has already mentioned Niko Bellic saying he went dark, who else went dark at one time? Micheal Townley De Santa who came back to the hyst business with Trevor. If Packie returned with our crew to Liberty, maybe he could convince Niko to hyst with him for one last time? -There are plenty of apartments to be added in Liberty City to choose from high end with amazing views of Middle Park, Star Junction, Statue of Hapiness, Broker Bridge, mansions in Alderny, and low end apartments all over the place. Plenty of car park garages and warehouses for CEO businesses, a hangar at Francis International, there was a casino in Alderny...The Firefly Island park could be a working park now with Ferris Wheel, Rollercoaster, QUB3D, and Fun's Go karts. -Bowling -Adding Liberty City would definitely boost Shark Card sales and give people a reason to want to repurchase GTA Online on Next Gen, I'm sorry, a small, unimportant island off the coast of Los Santos with one hyst is not really a good resell point. (Sorry Piro don't hate me please! lol) GTA is 7 years old now and still kicking strong despite the server issues and idiots on oppressors. Rockstar wants to keep that up but they need something BIG. GTA 4 Liberty City is honestly not that big of a map compared to 5 but its not small either. Its the perfect concept to keep people happy and buying Sharks. This is all speculation but would be the best, logical option for Rockstar to increase their profits and continue keeping people on their game. I may edit later to include other points if I can think of anything else or grammar/errors. Please discuss and if you have anything else to add or criticize, lets hear it. Edit 1: I'm quoting what Swegta said, not arguing with keggre just for clarification, it sounded like I was talking directly to keggre16 points -

Having meditated about this subject, I'm kind of torn tbh. In one hand, I agree that R* resetting whole accounts because of a money glitch is kind of excessive, even when something like a money wipe or even an account rollback would have been more appropiate punishments and even more when knowing R*'s wonky anticheat system a few legit players will always get hit in the crossfire inevitably. In the other hand, while I understand why so many players would risk their accounts by glitching, I also agree that they have no one but themselves to blame for getting reset, not because they may deserve it or not (I think that most of them don't, at least first time offenders), but because R* had set a precedent for taking drastic actions against glitchers with previous widespread glitches like the Lester plane glitch or the Casino chip glitch. While I can't say anything new that hasn't been said on this thread already, I wish that R* didn't had such a blatant double standard and also was just as capable of punishing players who exploit glitches that are arguably more harmful than a money glitch. To offer an example, the crew I'm in (and several other grinding crews on PS4) has been targeted by a certain individual (which I will not name to not give him any publicity) and a few of his friends with things like godmode jets, Speedos and even a ridiculous glitch in which you could been killed inside a building somehow, it went past "just playing the game as intended" and turned into blatant griefing and harassment. The mods of my crew even tried to report him and his friends to R* and Sony, linking messages of them with unpleasant messages and YouTube links with videos blatantly showing all the glitches they were abusing, all to no avail from either R* or Sony, which was totally ridiculous and shows where their priorities truly are $$$. So yeah, if they're going to account reset money glitchers from now on, they should also account reset all these dickheads too.13 points -

I didn't say you were wrong, I said the theme was different, the main focus wasn't the Open Wheel races, but the new yacht missions. The trailer and everything was water-themed or naval-themed, the OWR races were a side focus. Plus, that was a no brainer, not sure why you are making a big deal of it. I would have appreciated it if you were Bebay, the most professional newswire researcher and analyzer, but he would have seen it wayy sooner.10 points -

What's wrong with the lobbies?
beachfan12 and 8 others reacted to Lonely-Martin for a topic
The only aspect can I agree you can't do so easily is disrupt sales. But as I see that as developer sanctioned griefing anyway, I feel it's good people can sell without having someone roll up with explosives and top trump cards and destroy them with so much ease, lol. It's hardly competitive gameplay IMHO. But as to how the game is intended to play, we've had near 2 years of camps, shacks, animals, and activities just not spawning or bugging out, after that long it's obvious the game is struggling so if it means forfeiting a little sanctioned griefing to get the game to spawn it's content, which is what's intended too, it's a fair trade off in my view. The rest though is easy to do. For example, you could start a thread here offering your services to help sell or posse up and join anyone that wants to get help or the interaction that you'd like to have. And there's plenty of modes to do the PvP pap of course, co-op on call too. Of course, the easy and obvious solution to satisfy all playstyles is to offer both, the broken freemode of this last 2 years for those seeking interaction want and forego the animal/job spawns etc in favour of allowing more players to interact with or fight, and lobby options for those of us that want to roleplay and enjoy the world spawning animals, activities and our assets too. For a game advertised to suit all playstyles, it's a no brainer really. Just a shame some of those that want 'interaction' so much are keen to support R* not adding choices, lol. But R* have shown they won't do that and that we all have to accept their compromises as they're being cheap about this after GTA:O showed them it still is so profitable.9 points -

You're absolutely right. It's not hard to avoid other players, but I was aware that having a 0.00 KD at rank 750 is unusual. Really, this was intended as a humorous repudiation of an ultimately meaningless statistic. That's why I tailored the title in the way that I did-- to try to trick people into thinking that this thread was going to be one thing, and have it turn out to be the opposite. But if people want to give me kind word, what am I going to do? Not politely thank them or at least give them a like? I'm Canadian. The cops would show up.8 points -

This seems to be the only legitimate point they can muster for full public lobbies, yet that game play is completely ruined by explosive ammo, as you said. A few lame trader interactions aren't worth playing in completely broken lobbies. Yep that's about it isn't it? You can tell by the non answer you got to your question. We all have to deal with a broken game so some mush brains can emote each other, shoot up towns, and fire explosive arrows at each others deliveries. Wow. Amazing game play...7 points -

Or maybe, just maybe, it might have something to do with absolutely idiotic design decisions by Rockstar when it comes to creating several-layer-deep sequences of button presses for the simplest things? I'm sure there's a lot of people who enjoyed their latest spark of divine genius, when they try to get on a horse after using their advanced camera, only to be met with 20 seconds of f*cking social club loading, all while their LAs are getting away from them. As for the whole 'player interaction' - come on guys, it's 2020. We've heard it in World of Warcraft, and by now everybody rolls eyes at the notion of the so-called 'world pvp'; everybody knows how 'invaders 4 lyfe' in soulsborne games reacted when FromSoft gave hosts/co-op players some advantages; whenever there's a way for asynchronous pvp that doesn't imply both parties' volun-f*cking-tary opting-in for the activity, there's this certain crowd that would try and justify being sh*tty people with the usual 'but the game allows it so it's fine' excuses. Yes, World of Warcraft allows some guy to stand at the graveyard in STV with his level 120 rogue, repeatedly killing that level 37 mage when he revives; yes, he can call it 'world pvp'; no, it isn't an actually respectable form of pvp, and yes, he is an absolute garbage human for doing this. But he's an even more garbage human when he tries to pretend that he wants this asynchronous 'player interaction' just to fart rainbows and /wave at that level 37 mage, and not being able to do that is what he is so sad about, if for some reason it goes away. Same thing with Soulsborne games. The excuse 'just play offline' when someone complains about invaders being able to utilize late-game one-shotting builds bypassing any matchmaking formulas works only until they are getting f*cked in turn by weird scaling of summoned phantom friends that the hosts use. It's always the same. The only thing this crowd truly wants is a free pass of jumping first on someone before that someone is able to properly defend themselves. That's why you'll never see that 'known world pvp guy' have any meaningful arena/battleground achievements in WoW; that's why you'll never see these 'us cool invader guys' participate in Pontiff bonfire fightclubs or actually play in the Arena. And GTAO/RDO are no f*cking different. The only thing you can do in Free Roam that you can't do otherwise is grief and emote at strangers. Everything else, you can do by putting yourself on-call, utilizing the 'posse up' button in the menu, using the various PvP modes, finding communities online, including this forum. You can do everything you imply you want from 24-player sessions already, and the only thing that is missing is your ability to do so without the other party's consent.7 points -

Actually, the reason my friends cheated is because they got greedy and felt like they couldn't be touched on console, believing that Rockstar would do nothing more than take away their cash, which could then be recuperated through vehicle 'bonds'. I don't think they feel aggrieved at Rockstar for not paying them while in Creator, or for not allowing their bunkers/nightclubs to accrue whilst doing so, but rather it's my own observation at how harshly I think they were treated. It's a difficult situation because I could also have been caught up in that glitch, maybe in a chat party one night and then choosing to ignore the obvious warning signs and gut feelings, which is what happened to some of this group who were perhaps egged on by others. I'm sorry that my sympathy for them rankles you, but what else am I supposed to feel? Pleased? There is no need for someone like you to get upset at someone like me for feeling sorry for their friends. They got their accounts wiped, surely that should be enough for you.7 points -

But to be clear, there is no direct way to make .NET code to be injected to GTA or any un-managed process. So GTASDK.NET boots .NET environment over GTA and load the .NET dlls to alter game behavior... Hey.. Enough big brain talk, make it clear for me! GTASDK.NET allows your .NET dlls to be injected in the game and call game functions and change values of the variables like if the game was made in .NET.. Wait.. Is this another .NET Script Hook? No, Script hooks loads .NET dlls to the game as GTASDK.NET does but the diffrence that Script Hooks only provides functions that calls game native (scm) opcodes which is limited, but GTASDK.NET provides a safe .NET interface to actual game functions and classes. in more simple words, It's like DK's Plugin-SDK but for C# So what I can do using it? Beside being able to call game functions, You have .NET environment over the game! this means you can unleash your .NET power: show child-windows using WinForms, or add some fancy libraries like SharpDX for drawing some graphics or NAudio for playing some sounds? What's wrong with the lobbies?
beachfan12 and 5 others reacted to StyxTx for a topic
That's exactly it. The game actually functions and supplies so many various things to do in the small lobbies. The nonfunctioning lobbies were limited on the things you could do so people got bored and decided to screw with other players (rather than find some other game to play). I don't play the game to interact with others, except for the friends I have. I do play to have a fun time but it's no fun with all the features that don't work. That's what I've wondered all along. If you steal the goods and sell them, fine. But no one gains anything from destroying the wagon so people who do that just do it to be jerks or are kids. Personally, I don't want to play with either.6 points -

That's kind of the issue: if others could steal the products and deliver them for the same payout, then it's reasonable, like business battles in GTA, but just destroying them? That is simply asinine. The goods/shine should be made invulnerable to other players. NPCs could still shoot and disable the wagon, but players could only steal it. If I didn't only do these sales for dailies I'd seriously consider letting someone who's a much lower level steal them since I don't really need the money. I'd expect that robbing NPC trains/banks/etc. would alleviate much of the temptation to steal from other players except for the griefers, who just enjoy sh*tting on others.6 points -

Yeah they're perfect, I forgot how great it could be. Yeah they mean griefing. The only people who want full public lobbies in this game are the types to sprint around shooting anything that moves and calling each other names like "tryhard". At the start I thought RDO could turn out to be some kind of MMO so I opposed private lobbies, but it's clear now that's not the direction they're going. Small friend/invite freeroam lobbies are the only way to go, while adding more large group activities to join from those lobbies.6 points -

That isn’t the point. Regardless of whether people “hated” it it’s still a dumb, sweeping generalisation. You really think every person who’s a fan of GTA IV “hated” it before GTA V was a figment of the imagination? Of course not. Even still people are allowed to change their minds. There are many games I’ve disliked, but coming to them later on have given me a new appreciation for them. In the GTA series itself as many people would know who know me I was never a big fan of San Andreas or GTA V, but when I went back to them I appreciated them much more than I would’ve have say 3-4 years ago. Anyway in any case if someone hated GTA IV and only started to praise it because they didn’t like GTA V who cares. It’s their prerogative and they’re not hurting anyone are they?6 points -

The Red Dead Online B*tch & Moan Thread
Rev. Gnash and 5 others reacted to Patrickadizzle for a topic
Hello all. I just recovered my account to post ITT. I've only been playing RDO on PC for about ~7 days now, didn't play SP much at all and I'm rank 32 now so everything has been super fresh to me and I think I'm at a good place now to be able to post my biggest complaints on the core game play mechanics so far. I bought a bunch of Gold Bars and the outlaw pass to start with so I could unlock all the roles and get the full experience (too old to grind video games these days) and overall I've had a really great experience. I can't believe I slept on this game! I played the SP up to chapter 2 when the game first game out but for some reason it did not draw me in the way it is doing now. I'm also extremely impressed with how well the game runs on my 3600/5700. ~80 FPS on mostly ultra/high @240hz = GORGEOUS game. Just buttery smooth and very easy on the eyes. But, since this is a bitch and moan thread, I'm going to post the things that have really stood out to me that I think R* should address PVP badly needs a no tonic/no ability card/same guns mode with option to create free aim only lobbies as well I understand full well how R* operates and how to them the dollar is king, so everything is incentivized towards buying gold bars, I get it and I accept it, but there has to be a mode where there is none of these things are in play and it's just pure PvP combat. I feel this would help boost the overall player count because it wouldn't be so brutal on new players and overall be a more fun experience to have a pure skill based PvP mode. Right now I don't even bother with PvP not because the gun play isn't fun, it's great fun, but because it's just incredibly unbalanced all the time. There is no teamwork, everyone is just running around like chickens with their heads cut off. PiB is fun against NPC's but it's stupid for PvP, same with slippery bastard. My first few hours playing PvP was just a slaughter. It wasn't fun. Once I figured out the meta and acquired the stuff I needed to 'get good', I did alright. Look it's okay, but it's still just not as fun as it could be IMO. It's just really cheesy. R* wants to grow the game, well fix the PvP and make it accessible to people who don't have time/inclination to grind/purchase the necessary items to not get destroyed every game. Slow down Day/Night time cycle This is more personal preference and I'm sure some will disagree... I don't have to tell you guys, this game is absolutely stunning visually and there is nothing more disappointing to me than not being able to enjoy a sunset or a sunrise before it's over in 15 seconds. I understand the need to condense time in relation to distance traveled and such, but I would really appreciate it if the day/night time cycle didn't fly by so quickly. Going out for a hunt in the morning and by the time you get to your spot, the sun is rising again, or going into a shop to browse the catalog or playing poker and having days go by, it's just immersion breaking and really arcadey. Can't fish from a boat Okay this one is minor but I had to throw it in because it completely blew me away when I realized they wouldn't let you fish from a boat... Seriously!? From what I've read you were able to do this in SP, but for some reason you cannot in MP? Why!? Okay, maybe saving for a future role (Fisherman?) but seriously why would you remove even the basic ability to fish from a boat. This really bothered me I'm not going to lie. Guns degrade way too quickly So I bought some of the leather wraps for my sawed off shotguns hoping that would help the problem but it really didn't. Basically after any firefight where I used most of my ammo (which is alot of them) my guns would be at close to half condition. I have no problem with the gun oil/cleaning feature, I actually enjoy it, gun oil is cheap and plentiful, but I think it's completely unrealistic how quickly they dirty and how frequently you have to clean them to keep them working as intended. It becomes tedious after awhile. No in game text chat I'm sure some may disagree with this as well but the game feels so empty and lonely not being able to talk to others. I try voice chat others and rarely ever get a reply. I understand why they left it out, but I think it's sad not even being able to say hello to someone through text for a MP game. IMO The emotes are just god awful.. Way too clunky and cheesy and take too many keystrokes to pull off, locking you into an animation you can't get out of until it completes.... They really are not a good way to communicate at all. Please give people on option to use text chat if they want to, if it bothers them they can turn it off just like they do with voice chat. The story missions are way too easy and as such, nobody ever works together The biggest complaint I have about doing the matchmaking story missions is that the enemies and objectives are so easy, and because of that, there is zero teamwork because everybody is just sprinting ahead trying to John Wayne the entire mission by themselves. I think if you made the enemies a lot harder and forced people to work together, it would be much more rewarding. Taking one or two drags/sips of a cigarette/cigar/whiskey and immediately tossing it WTF. This one bothered me the most next to not being able to fish out of a boat. I'm currently loving this game for the immersion factor it gives me, I spend 50% of my time just fishing or walking around/hunting and taking it all in, but stuff like this just instantly puts a bad taste in my mouth and disconnects me from the game entirely. How can you let me walk around camp and eat my stew as I please, but I can't take my time and do the same with a cigarette or bottle of bourbon while enjoying the beautiful scenery you built for us. Just shameful. Stuff like this really bothers me because it's so simple and shouldn't even be a thing, but for some reason, it is. I seriously don't get it. The big game content that we all want, I can wait patiently for that, the small stuff though is a special kind of frustrating because you know it's likely not going to get changed at all, if ever. There is a lot more but this post has already gotten far too long and I apologize if I've said anything that has been harped about a million times over already. This game really does has a stupid amount of potential and it's saddening to me that so much of the small immersion breaking details seem to get overlooked. I'm aware of the hopeful future updates such as lawman, more outlaw content with train/bank heists, being able to purchase properties and such in the future, all which would be very awesome and are badly needed, but there are also ALOT of small things that are currently in game and need to be addressed and that really shouldn't require that much man hours to fix. Again, love this game and I'm definitely going to stick around but yeah, some of the core gameplay decisions really have me shaking my head and wondering what were they thinking. So many things they could let us do and totally have the capability to do so, but for some reason they just don't let us... Really hoping R* keeps going with this game and doesn't milk it slowly, there is so much potential here this game could last forever.6 points -

This is my experience too in crowded lobbies, except for interaction with other players, in my case, negative. The ones I ran into had the tendency to shoot everything that moves 9 out of 10 times. Not bad enough to close the app for, though. I didn't run into other players much, but that isn't the point why I prefer the low pop lobbies. We now have a live and busy world to reside in, which isn't the case with a crowded lobby. I play this game for the ambience, the environment and not to run into 1898 CoD losers.5 points -

Rockstar: "We are committed to maintain a healthy game environment for all players." Money glitcher that just got reset loads into GtaOnline server: gets blown up by an Opressor mk2, Orbital Canon, God Mode glitchers, griefers or a modder simply boots you offline or crashes your game with one button press. Seriously... I'm convinced that God Mode glitchers/exploiters will never get resets/bans/suspensions since they boost Shark Card purchases by ruining CEO/Biker sales.5 points -

Nice! Like others, I came in thinking this was your typical boast thread from some hardcore PvP nut or even a griefer, lol. Funny stuff. I too find less joy in PvP in general (not just GTA but in gaming overall really). I can enjoy a bit of the arena or other car based adversary modes but aside accidents, haven't killed anyone in freemode for quite some time. I don't get how quickly some were to say your account looked suspicious though. Since that casino heist arrived, I'm confident I've made more that 100m from it by now, lol. Mix in loads of VIP, Terrorbyte missions, and for those keen, plenty of solo public businesses and it's easy to make millions over time. Especially if the player isn't wasting time with PvP they dislike more too. GG, OP.5 points -
