Isn't it sad that we have to play in solo sessions for a multiplayer game? Like the state of online is just that bad that grinders are forced into private lobbies just so they don't get griefed by all the tools added to the game by R*.

I did perform the exploit/glitch a considerable amount of times after it spread on social media like wildfire. Lost 7 years of progress (1600 hours on PC) on a character I had since the Xbox 360 days + dozens of rare/hard to obtain vehicles (Rip Lost Slamvan ) Never would have done it if: The game wasn't a grindy mess R* issued a statement minutes after everyone started to talk about it R* lived up to their past principles of not taking drastic measures against in-game exploits/glitch users Seriously, most companies would have issued a statement on social media before any "first time offender" considers abusing an exploit that literally only hurts Take Two's Shark Card revenue and Strauss Zelnick's offshore bank account. Also I totally disagree that "first time offenders" should get a hard reset instead of an account rollback. Never seem any other company take such measures against an easy to replicate exploit. I could name one recent exception but it's not exactly microtransaction related. Regarding that article, that one they posted to make sure support staff interns can just copy and paste vague and lame excuses regarding "HeAlThY gAmE eNvIrOnMeNt", literally any person that mass purchases Shark Cards would fall in the same category, except ya know... those players bring revenue. Wouldn't even surprise me if they start negotiating account rollbacks with Shark Card purchases. Either way, what's done is done, not gonna bother doing 7 years of grind all over again when FiveM exists on PC + trying to get my hands on an insured Lost Slamvan on GtaOnline. On the bright side, at least from now on I won't feel pressured anymore to run Act 2 finales only during whole weekends when from now on I can't even be certain if they will "eventually" start taking actions against accounts that manipulate cloud saves to gain "illegitimate GTA$" quickly. To be honest, I'm not pissed about losing all my progress. I am however angry that TakeTwo/R* decides all the sudden to twist vague ToS/EULA statements for their own benefit and then retroactively apply penalties on first time offenders. Pretty sure that's borderline illegal but it's not like you have much of a chance against a corporate legal department in America.

Rockstar has brought the glitching epidemic upon itself.. Honestly, I sympathize with the people who got reset. Here's why. When this game came out, it was fun. Sure you had to grind a bit to afford stuff, but it wasn't a grinding/ delivery boy simulator. Cars and vehicles were not insanely expensive. Fast forward 7 years later and look where we are? Cars can cost several million dollars. It can take hours to grind just for one vehicle. People have jobs. Longtime fans of this series have kids and families and careers. They do not have the time grind day in and day out. People have lives. Sure you can buy a shark card, but those are ripoffs anymore as well. 8 million for a $100? Are you kidding me? Rockstar and T2 have made hundreds of millions, if not over a billion, in Shark Card revenue over the last 7 years. And that's not enough apparently, considering the way they operate their business! T2 has been consumed by greed. This game is designed to irritate and railroad you into buying shark cards. And, the shark card money they give you for the amount you fork over isn't worth sh*t. So yeah, I sympathize with the people who got reset because Rockstar and T2 greed have made my sympathize. This game shouldn't feel like a 2nd job and yet it does. So anytime someone finds an exploit or a glitch that earns them money, my hats off to them. Rockstar has only themselves to blame. The economy they have built encourages it. I hope when they reopen the character transfer tool for the PS5 and XBX, they get rammed up the ass again with people bringing over hundreds of millions in illicit money, just like what had happened with last gen to current gen. I have no sympathy for Rockstar.

Hey so, the 7 Year Anniversary's of both GTA V and GTA Online will occur on a Thursday. So... while there's still time to prep, Rockstar, could you please do something big on one of those days... give us a tease, a massive event week.. something real special to make up for the altered plans for Summer this year... on top of the crap experience we've all had. After all, it's the VII year anniversary of V and with VI nowhere on the horizon...

I see your point and I won't debate that, but I should add that the grinding on last gen was 10x more bearable than what it is today. Nonsense like 1.3 millions for a peasant 1st gen VW Golf wouldn't fly back then, specially when the game was still new and making the headlines of gaming websites(even though it was a broken mess).

So they ruined this game again?? and for what? God forbid players have fun. Why do they think a broken game is better than a game firing on all cylinders? Just so players fight with one another? How utterly stupid of the management of RDO. Those in charge should be fired for this, unless the decision comes down from the very top. Why should execs want 23-person lobbies that break the majority of the game mechanics, just so there's frustration and conflict? It makes no sense. Maybe if they see enough players leaving because of it, and bitching and moaning, they'll go back to the utopia of smaller sessions. I guess I'm off to explore other games again, damn it. I'll keep an eye on the forum to see if it ever gets reverted again to small lobbies for a fun game. If not, there are lots of other things to do, and plenty of other games to play. Really sad though, when it's working perfectly it's easily the best game of its kind out there.

GREED, that's the most appropriate word I can think of. But before talking about greed, let's consider Rockstar's buggy code that allowed people to glitch in the first place. Now, I'm not a complete dimwit and I appreciate that if you find an illegal way of making money not originally programmed into the game, you should avoid it and maybe even report it, not exploit it, but it still doesn't excuse Rockstar for releasing code that's not fully bug tested and then getting majorly shirty at people who find glitches. Rockstar made a programming mistake, and their approach to that was to punish people at an overly extreme level. I mean, are Rockstar not partly complicit in all of this by publishing shoddy code in an official DLC? Which leads me back to the heading of GREED. Do you think that Rockstar are that callous to punish gamers for exploiting their own coding mistakes? I think not; this is a purely corporate-driven tactic from T2 to smash cheaters on the rocks in an attempt to generate more shark card revenue, which also sends out a clear message to people who are thinking about cheating in the future. But greed is a two-headed serpent that doesn't apply to T2 alone, but to gamers as well. For relatively new players, the temptation to glitch is understandable, but for experienced gamers, seven years into the game with literally hundreds of vehicles and dozens of properties and multiple totally legit ways of making in-game cash, including the experience to do so, it's a crazy thing to do. You're back to square one and now have to grind/glitch harder than ever before just to play with your friends and keep your chin up in public. For many of us, enough is never enough.

First I'd like to say that this glitch - much like LEster's Plane and Casino Chip Glitch - was extremely easy for Rockstar to detect and participating in it would be just foolish. However I can't agree with character resets. They are counter-productive and only creates more cheating. Had I been the giver of punishment I'd just remove all money gotten through the glitch. And if you wouldn't have enough money on hand and bank because you spent it on car bonds thinking you were smart, surprise, you'd end up with negative money. And add a month of a temp ban or something. Again, character reset is just stupid.

(Wasn't sure if you meant card buyers only or those of us that bought the game too, lol). Sure, I'm not a player that regularly contributes financially like recurring card buyers, but I am still counted when it comes to R*/T2 using their quarterly player counts to further advertise the game after all.

    What's wrong with the lobbies?

Looks like it. I tried several times and loaded in crowded lobbies every time. Went to Valentine and noticed frame rates are lower again too. When I arrived in Valentine in low pop lobbies, the town was full of NPC's, chickens in the streets and several wagons riding around. When I got there a few minutes ago....., 3 NPC's in the whole town of which 1 was walking around and 2 at the saloon at the side and that's it. The town is dead again. f*ck THOSE ROCKSTAR DICKS!

Where is your "home" in RDO?

The area around Emerald Ranch mainly. Wide open rolling hills on a bright sunny day are so pleasant. It's also pretty central, my shack is just up the road, my camp is usually closer to Valentine which isn't far, lots of collectibles nearby, several treasure map trees to check. If I had to pick a town, it would be Blackwater, though. Reminds me a lot of where my dad was from, a cozy fishing village, we'd always visit my grandparents on long weekends every year. It's all about the atmosphere.

But the Adder costs 1 million and while it is a model of a hypercar, it's arguably less useful than the Club because it was never viable for racing. How many contact missions did you have to play to earn 1 million on last gen? Nowadays the casino heist pays a lot of money (when done right) and isn't as grindy as doing crates, for example. What little I know about it is that the free property from the CESP was only needed for one of the many workarounds after Rockstar started trying to patch the glitch. But it wasn't a requirement. I believe it's not technically possible for players to have negative money, else Rockstar would have certainly tried this approach already. The glitch went on for days, so they would have had to roll back a lot of player progress. But even if the rollback were only a few hours, the complaints would have been a hundred times bigger, and justifiably so, because why punish everyone over the actions of a few who should have known what they are doing isn't legit. Wiping those found to have participated in the glitch through a script (which likely caused false positives) *is* the lazy approach.

It would be the clearest of indicators that R* value the ideology of their vision over the stability of the game and the experience that would please the majority of players. Unless R* can make the game work as it does today with 20+ players in a lobby, they can't "fix" it without looking foolish.

No it didn't affect me in the slightest because I didn't do the glitch thankfully. I do have a great amount of sympathy for some of the players that got banned though. I don't know every individual player but I do know it can be extremely hard to make money sometimes in this very very toxic game. I truly feel sorry for the newer players because this sh*t can be overwhelming and draining times. I don't necessarily agree with people doing glitches but I do understand why they do them. I think the punishment should have been a money wipe but again this isn't my game it's Rockstars game and they're going to do whatever the hell they want unfortunately. Now I have to drag the sh*t out of Rockstar real quick. Again I know it's their game and I know they're going to do whatever the hell they want with it but it's funny this company refuses to keep the same energy when it comes to people who use actual harmful glitches such as godmode and that orbital cannon spam and whole bunch of other sh*t I probably don't know about still. On top of that they constantly promote griefers, try-hards and a whole bunch of other toxic things yet have the audacity to say in one of their newswire that they're trying to keep a healthy gaming environment. When I read that I'm just over here looking like the Gul of this company. Ya know I've been playing GTAO since day 1 back in 2013 (2 days before my bday lol) and I've really enjoyed certain moments in this game I really have but after this situation where they clearly have double standard when it's comes to certain things, on top of the degenerate toxicity I can confidently say that I will never touch another Rockstar title again. Hell the only reason I'm even still hanging on to this game even just a little bit is because I'm waiting for the release of cyberpunk 2077. Once that's out I plan to just delete my character and everything. This game started out so damn great and they've just taken it on a 7 year journey of turning it into pure cow manure sh*t.

    GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 4]

It totally makes sense that GTA 6 is early in development. Red Dead Redemption 2 used so much of their resources it’s impossible they were in the background just making GTA 6 when RDR2 was using their resources. Now RDR2 is over with and they’re making GTA 6. One thing however that I find to be pretty hilarious is when people suggest Rockstar won’t make GTA 6. Jason already confirmed it’s in development. I am not the biggest fan of GTA 5 coming to the PS5 (it’s a great game but Rockstar should’ve just put out a smaller title in my view, though it makes perfect sense financially.) but that’s how game development works now. Games are now bigger and more detailed and as technology improves it only makes game development take longer as the details add up. Rockstar not making GTA 6 would be like Disney buying Star Wars only to rerelease the franchise for years over. GTA Online makes a lot of money, yes, but so will GTA 6 and it’s own Online mode. Rockstar never making GTA 6 and instead releasing Online updates forever wouldn’t make sense financially because sooner or later the game will become too outdated and people will lose interest, and thus profits would plummet. I am worried about GTA 6 for numerous reasons, but I’m also cautiously optimistic. Having a GTA game for the next gen hardware is exciting just thinking about it. A lot of long-term people at Rockstar are leaving but it has been revealed many of them were pretty problematic and actively prevented the implementation of better game mechanics. I’m sure there is a corporate influence over Rockstar and internal conflict and frustration but we got Red Dead Redemption 2-one of the greatest single player experiences of this generation-only nearly two years ago. With GTA 6 possibly being a “moderately-sized” release perhaps some of the RDR2 magic may be lost but GTA 6 regardless of its scope will have a huge advantage over all previous Rockstar games in its (most likely) being developed for hardware that is far beyond what both GTA 5 and RDR2 were developed for. I saw somewhere people comment how Rockstar now only has shark card folks. No more single player DLC is frustrating but the fact is people seem to forget RDR2 was a thing. I’m sure there’s internal conflict at Rockstar but I’m sure there are a decent number of passionate developers who want to create the best games they can despite having to appeal to a corporate parent company. It’s honestly disrespectful to developers at Rockstar to lump them all in as being shark card people when the devs can’t even control that. Again not to mention quite a few of these “beloved” long-term people at Rockstar were not very prudent people according to insider information Jason revealed. GTA 6 will usher in a new era of Rockstar that I’m both very excited and somewhat worried about. I think how GTA 6 turns out will determine what future games will be like. Seeing how I still like to play GTA 5 every now and then and am still amazed at the details I think GTA 6 will at the very least be a fairly good game, even if it has a low emphasis on single player and isn’t much bigger or even smaller than GTA 5, because GTA 5 is still a fairly large game even for today’s standards. I’ve been really enjoying the ride to GTA 6 so far. Here’s to 2021 and an announcement late that year!

I find it pretty ironic seeing all the people on this forum holding such hatred and disdain for glitchers and cheaters when they're ultimately using the exact same strategy as Shark Card buyers, except they're doing it much more intelligently. Instead of falling right into Rockstar's trap, they're actively fighting against it. Which is why R* is hitting them back so hard, because they're doing exactly what they despise. Everyone here should instead be angry at Shark Card consumers, they're the reason why we're in this situation to begin with. No one buying shark cards? No MK II Oppressors, no orbital cannon, no bunker research fees, no aimbot AI, no horrendous payouts for half the features and most importantly, no 7 year old dumpster fire of a game barely capable of running above 20 fps and taped together so thinly that every update allows half the player base to get billions for doing basically nothing. Instead, we'd have had a GTA V story DLC, a game that much needed it. Probably the same for Red Dead Redemption II and we'd most likely be getting a new GTA within the next 12-18 months. But here we are with a remastered remaster on the way. If you've ever purchased a shark card, from my point of view, you have forfeited your right to critique either GTA Online, Rockstar or even glitchers. You have helped in creating the greedy, lazy monster that this company has become. P.S: And if you hate glitchers because you think all they do is abuse orbital cannons and get in the way of your money making endeavors, just get a solo public session. It's not complicated and I've grinded hundreds of millions alone.

Not gonna lie. I tried 10 times to see if I was just unlucky or if the lobbies are merged again. In 8 out of 10 lobbies, there was at least 3 pink or red posses active. In the previous low pop lobby days, and I have hopped a bunch to get LA's to spawn, not 1 name pink or red. The first high pop lobby I landed in welcomed me with the X killed Y message on screen. I quickly checked the lobby and noticed I wasn't in a low pop lobby anymore. f*ck! Haven't tried logging in an 11th time. I don't want to return to the empty world, barren of free roam encounters.

Rockstar knew those players most certainly used the glitched money they obtained to buying everything in the game they could want. Meaning just a money wipe would not be quite an effective punishment as the players would still get out ahead from buying what they could before it was taken. I am no programmer but I think Rockstar would find it impossible to distinguish what things the player bought legitimately from what things they bought using glitched money on an individual case by case basis and decided to just go for the nuclear option and nuke everything. Honestly the players should have known better. Rockstar has done wipes before in response to serious money exploits and not hard to imagine them doing it again. I was a little afraid myself cause I got 100 million in my account from legitimate grinding and feared Rockstar would look at that and assume I glitched to get it all, and thankfully I was not one of the innocent people caught in the net and have not lost anything. Precisely. I made ridiculous amounts of money doing the Diamond Casino heists. Averaging about 1.4 million as a host each run. Thanks to Diamond Casino, goals are much more achievable than they were in the past.
