the map size (including map props and interiors) is roughly 6.5-6.7gb. except that's the size from gta iv version of the map, which is missing a lot of stuff and upgrades to level design present in gta v. you can say what you want about rockstar, but they're not like.... certain other game studios who recycle assets between multiple games with almost zero changes. they have standards and they're gonna uphold them. -gta iv has i think 3 lod levels, gta v has 6. they will need to make these additional lods. that's gonna increase the size by a little bit. -gta iv has no seafloor, gta v has. inb4 nOoNe cArEs aBoUt tHe sEaFlOoR - shut up, there are people that do (i'm one of them lol), and rockstar will have to make one if they want any sort of consistency in the map design. -then there's the fact that they have to upscale the models, another part of making the maps consistent with eachother. a lot of things look really janky if ported directly from iv to v, they're not gonna allow that. if anyone remembers that one screenshot of middle park, the terrain is going to be more complex and realistic. so i assume they will be remastering stuff like traffic lights and props to make them look more hd. -and finally the worst: audio. even if they port every single radio station as-is from iv, that's still gonna take up 5-6gb. let's not forget that they might add new ped models exclusive to lc (doubt many peds from ls will look right in lc) and also associated speech lines, on top of new police scanner lines too. you're literally looking at a 14-20gb download (pretty much an entire copy of gta iv lol) if you want a full, and proper experience. there's no way this is what we're getting in december. i wouldn't rule something like that out when the "standalone version of gta online" is going to be a thing, since then hopefully the engine will have better support (that's another thing, currently the engine is held by a piece of string, an entire lc dlc is going to cause so many ingame issues and double or even triple the current loading times) and r* also won't be pissing sp players off by making them download 10gb+ of online-only data that they'll never get to play on. it's also possible that they're just gonna do the heist on a small portion of the map (so more than half of the things i mentioned above would not be needed) but then i feel like the heist will be way too scripted and restricted and likely have no getaway sequence, so i somehow doubt that's happening.17 points -

The property deeds were found by Bob from the collectible map team, but it turns out they were old findings that possibly date back to day one. So it's not new or anything that suggest it's coming in the next update. It's just another feature on paper that was planned all the way back to 2018. Keep in mind, the game went through a couple of stages that resulted in drastic changes to their plans, starting with an approach to adapt roles, and nowadays with the virus that delayed pretty much everything. In other words, don't take the prices and locations for granted, as they are more of placeholders. Who knows if the Saint Denis mansion mentioned becomes part of a heist than an actual property.12 points -

That's exactly what I ws thinking yesterday in relation to LC, it'd make a great FOMO hook to get people to buy the next gen rererelease. Have the final current gen update involve a Heist in "LC". But in actuality, all we get are a few long shots of a really low rendered LC "map"/prop that gets spawned in for the cutscene as our team arrives by plane, and we get the exterior shot of the single building we'll be Heisting as we pull up in front of it, or skydiving in whatever the method, that tiny bit of city can be all polished up and again, because we won't be playing it, just spawned in as a prop on the main LS overworld, kinda like the Ghost Town from GTA 3., but then once inside it's just your standard fully detailed interior.6 points -

Hmm... that video reminds me of something: That literally never happened. "Every time"? Show us when was the last time that even happened in here. Why you creating fake scenarios? to make your argument sound more legit or something? Not really. Sure, adding a new city would be a crazy and unrealistic amount of work. But LC? its already there, they have it. At least 80% of the work is already done. All the have to do is freshen it up a little bit, replace some textures, trees, billboards, add couple new props etc. and thats it. Even if they ported it without changing a single thing people still would be extremely happy. On top of that: - We had some "laeks" couple years ago that proved that people at R* were working on remaking LC. - its possible that they were working on GTAIV remaster (10y anniversary) but the project got canceled because of the success of GTAO. In that case they would surly want to reuse those assets. - C&D on that Liberty City map mod. In the past R* never send C&Ds after those kind of mods. And people been adding previous maps to the new games since gta 3. Seems like there was a reason behind it. - After all those years everyone got bored of the same old map. Adding LC would surly convince people to buy the game once again (for the 3-4x time?) on the next generation of consoles. - LS is barely holding together, it has some serious performance issues. Not to mention that they are running out of places for new missions. Starting with a new fresh location would fix all of those problems. - If they had in on the back burner for the last couple of years that would explain why most of GTAO updates were so... mediocre and small. Even tho they make billions on that game. - With LC they could keep re-releasing all the old content from the old map for the next couple of years. So they would easily double the profits for 10% of the work they would normally have to do. So keeping all of that in mind, even if it requires a little bit more effort at first, from a business point of view adding LC would be a gold mine for them. We had 7 years worth of updates and all of them added some kind of "new location". But in all those years they never before focused on calling it "an entirely new location". Not even once. R* always chooses the right words when they make those newswire posts. They wouldn't put that there without a reason. So Liberty City still makes sense. But I do agree that a smaller island or a cruise ship is a more likely scenerio. But that still dosn't mean that LC is out of the picture.6 points -

Issues seem to persist on RDO due to the coding that is trying to prevent solo lobbies via firewalls or lower MTU settings like you can in GTO, so once the server ping / quality rate drops below a limit set by Rockstar, you get kicked / disconnected. As with GTAO if you have a low MTU / Ping / quality connection you end up in a Solo lobby by yourself and see the GTAO player list basically vanish. Even if your connection is perfect and the fastest available, it could be a split second drop in your connection that in RDO kick you out to a error message or on GTAO kicks everyone else out of the lobby but you. That's my take on it anyway. I could get more technical but I'm not about to explain it in detail as it's not worth it, ha. Obviously that doesn't stop the instant disconnects when trying to load into a session, that's Rockstars end, as that is most likely an handshake issue between you and Rockstar, so you just get instantly disconnected.6 points -

There’s not gonna be a map expansion, you lot are setting yourselves up for disappointment. Crikey we go through this every time they say “biggest update yet”, first words that come out of people’s mouth is “map expansion!??!” It’ll be a few nondescript buildings changed for property-related reasons, OR it will be a special interior we load in to off-map. At max, it’ll be some special offshore cruise ship or something, and we heist it and its wealthy passengers. Why a cruise ship? Because you can copy-paste a lot of its assets for the various rooms and decks. Minimal work to create a large setpiece.6 points -

It's time for another release! Unfortunately, that good old loss of all hard drive files situation struck again (will I ever learn how to back-up?), so some major features like Trash Dash, drinking, and Loan Sharks are NOT any longer in this release, sorry guys. The last couple of weeks have been a super busy time full of restoring and recreating a large portion of what was lost, as well as adding extra and finishing everything up, but it's finally done! IN THIS RELEASE: Introducing the INSTALLER. No longer are the ways of tricky manual installation! This bad boy conveniently puts the entire modification at your hands in just a few clicks. There are three methods of installation all explained for you: FULL. STANDARD. ADVANCED. Standard providing the entire base of the mod with the exception of map/script removals (examples: stadium + their missions). Full providing the *full* / more accurate experience; it removes the stadium, North Beach and the missions associated. This does not affect the ability to achieve 100%. Advanced providing all the extra stuff! This installation set provides you with the ability to choose from the different development radars & players, plus all the aesthetically to your opinion worse, better, and not-so-stable features. How does the installer work? Firstly, the installer looks out for a gta-vc.exe (meaning, an installed copy), otherwise it will NOT INSTALL. This is NOT to be dumped into a random folder, otherwise it won't work as intended. Secondly, STEAM COPIES ARE SUPPORTED. The installer comes with its own downgrader, courtesy of @ThirteenAG, which during installation injects itself into your game to support the modification. Thirdly, during installation the installer dumps the gta3.img files into a TEMP folder & uses Fastman's IMG Console via script to automatically inject all these files into your IMG. So be careful, any already installed mods may be overwritten! Forthly, the TEMP folder the installer makes for adding/replacing files in gta3.img unfortunately does NOT get deleted, either delete it or take it as opportunity to use it for easy access to any files you may want! Finally, depending on your Advanced choices, at the end of installation Hackman's SFX Manager will boot up to automatically inject GTA3 sounds into sfx.SDT before closing and ending installation. Also introducing the UPDATER. This is a very simple updater, nothing fancy! There are no automated alerts or anything, this is all simply a manual check on your part. Just for convenience/laziness should you not want to check the topic! Click the Check for Updates button and it will alert you to whether there is one. If there is, at your choice it will download the latest version for you! SCREENSHOTS This is not much of a major visual update, so there's not much to show. Map-wise this version mostly includes new minor map changes, some improvements over old edits, and fixing up a few things of what were missing. For new features however, there's a few things to showcase: The HUD has now been recreated by @Fire_Head! Featuring all the previous changes like the blue, pink & purple text and icons in the top right, the yellow timer, red circle crosshair, bolder GTA3 rampage colours, blue objective markers, auto-aiming M60 and different weapon pickup colours, but now with the new additions of a smaller ammo count, green objective text and no glow on adrenaline/health/rampage pickups to make it really feel nice and finished. Also included are things such as the All Cars are Helicopters cheat (activated by WEDONTNEEDROADS), with a VCB.asi merging all previously separate ASIs together. No more scripts folder bloating! BETA VEHICLES. Up to *39* of them! All greatly and painstakingly recreated by @Son Of Big Boss. These vehicles are the most accurate models you're gonna get, especially with their beta carcols and PS2 reflections these bad boys spice up the world like nothing else. You can keep track of any and all new beta vehicles right in his topic here. There is now a GTA3 Assets pack found under Advanced Installation, featuring GTA3 weapons (Grenade, Rocket Launcher, Spaz Shotgun, Uzi) & GTA3 sounds (sports car doors, vehicle collisions & footsteps) with help from @Matt1010 & a GTA3 Cabbie with further optional variants with help from @Son Of Big Boss. There are now what is nearly the last of the remaining beta pedestrians finished, these are a few of them, others not shown are HFOST & BMYPI, alternates for BMYRI & WMYRI, with revisions to WFYG1 & WMYRI. As shown in the last progress post, places like Washington's Well Stacked Pizza & the Inside Track Betting store both have people behind their counters, with the pizza store offering health regen & a side-mission like the rest. CHECKLIST See all the new stuffs in this release below! This is only a (decently sized) minor release, so unfortunately it isn't much, but hopefully it's enough for now! That looks so much better then the stupid chrome roads! -------- My 2 cents about the whole "we're getting a new city" vs "we're getting an interior for a shed somewhere", is to just stop wasting each-other's time, this whole side of the discussion seems to have become about wish-listing rather then speculation, the moment to actually start speculating about this is when we've gotten the small dlc thats roughly a week away, remember how both the casino and the arcades got 'construction props' added in the dlc before their release? 99.99999999999% sure the same will happen here, wait for next week's minor dlc then start hunting for new 'construction props', once we find some we will know what actually gets added/changed. If you want to prepare for this then before the dlc releases drive past all locations you think it might be, and memorize/screenshot any 'construction props' that place currently has, see a difference after the small dlc releases? mention it here so we have something to actually speculate about!5 points -

Well this event week also ends on "rdro's day" and rdro only added some new clothing this week. So I guess they could release 2 newswire posts today. But yeah, thoursday or friday are way more likely. But still I was hoping for a little tease today with two new pictures and some details + a trailer on thoursday or friday. They don't even have to do that. They could simply play a pre-rendered video with a LC skyline and a plane landing on the airport. Showing us how the city would look like on next gen. With casino dlc they played a pre-rendered promo trailer so we know they can do that.5 points -

So, no actual evidence then? Why should anyone believe your "first and second hand observation" over more authoritative sources of information? Mumble mumble, Hitchen's Razor, mumble mumble. It's an assumption, definitely, but I'd hardly call it a safe one. This a false dichotomy; nothing about the statement "police escalate tensions" precludes other parties from doing so. I never made the assertion that "protesters" (though I would draw a distinction between "protesters" and "rioters") don't also escalate tensions, but heavy-handed police and federal law enforcement responses absolutely have done so. Are you suggesting they haven't? The issue is more your desire to present all protest of a particular political affiliation as violent on the basis of "first and second hand observation" (ha), and without any empirical evidence to support this assertion, and basically dismiss any aggressive response to it as "people getting what's coming to them". Which yes, I daresay would lead most normal, sane, rational or reasonable persons to think you don't support the right of people of a political affiliation to partake in peaceful protest. Do all employed Americans drive now? That's a development I wasn't aware of. Here I was thinking that people use mass transit or even- god forbid- walk to work, especially in the major cities where most of these protests are taking place. Anyway, you didn't use the word "partake", you used the word "attend". It's possible to attend a protest without partaking in it; I mean, that's what law enforcement, reporters, paramedics et cetera are doing...should we assume from your comments that these people are also playing stupid games and thus deserve basically whatever happens to them? I see you have absolutely nothing by way of an explanation as to why you suddenly decided to swap from talking about transmission rates and start talking about death rates. You might have a point here if you could point to large numbers of state, local and territorial health departments drastically changing their reporting rates and methodologies in such a way that would account for a massive increase in reported cases, but in the absence of this all you're doing is dismissing evidence offhand as "verifiably false" (lul) because it doesn't fit your arguments. If the CDC data is "verifiably false", what's the data set on which you draw your conclusions about infection rates? What is the data set which verifies the CDC figures as "false", any why have you not cited it rather than just vaguely alluding to its existence? Yes, he did. He was addressing your comment- which you seem to have forgotten you ever made- talking specifically about spread- IE infection rates. Look, I'll draw you another picture given you seem pathologically incapable of scrolling up: That's pretty unequivocal. I know it's really inconvenient for your arguments that you're not able to misrepresent other people's comments but he's responding specifically and categorically to your post about infection rates using a source that only talks about infection rates so it's very hard to assume he means something else entirely. I see people talking about the lawmen role as if it is exclusively the lawmen. They introduced two ways of playing the naturalist role in this update which I think hints at the next role doing the same. The naturalist either does conservation and study of animals or you hunt and kill them for profit. So I imagine the next role would be Lawmen/Outlaw and be more based on your karma, giving more of a reason for honor to matter in online. So like how Harriet sprays you after killing animals, for the lawmen you wouldn't be able to work that end of the role unless your honor was in the good range. I'm sure someone has said this already but it just seems very obvious thats what is gonna happen now that we're seeing the naturalist kinda be two roles in one in some ways.5 points -

I want some more integration with the previously added content for the upcoming heist. It does feel nice to use a 54-card suit for the exfil or to use Chester's ass for some meaty weapons to blast away with at the texans... But imagine if we could for example... - after completing Doomsday's 3 Acts as a host, get access to stealth tech and juggernaut suits to use for the heist / call up Cliffford clones for backup. - after completing enough Smugglers Run sales, get access to aircraft to use for a getaway. - after completing all of Lamar's missions, get access to Benny and reduce potential upgrade costs for getaway vehicles by half. - after completing all of Gunrunning Mobile Operations, use the cargo plane for either infiltration or exfiltration. And so on, and so on. I feel like if they combed through the old stuff, they could find plenty of ways to make us play it in order for some new experiences. Give us a nudge, so to say, towards content some might have forgotten about, and in case of Epic Games newbies, haven't even learned about yet.5 points -

We're mostly gonna take a look at the new weapons, sounds, map improvements, player and especially vehicles.
