I revisited an old III/VC fix for shadows under pickups/fire as back in 2013 I pretty much was changing values until it works - now with @The Herowe actually understood the issue properly and came with a correct fix (which will not result in any visual difference compared to what we have now, though). Same fix also worked in SA, resulting in "fire shadows" working properly!11 points -

i wonder how the new heists will work for those that haven't completed the original missions from the first casino DLC. since it's really relevant to the story we are going to have in the casino heists. why would you get revenge on the Dugins if you haven't done the missions where they actually buy the casino? Maybe the heists can't be played until these missions are completed? Just a thought11 points -

Wow you guys rly love to argue about the weirdest stuff huh? And the rest of you are obsessing about that green car like Jake Skywalker about his green milk Well ofc that would be great since Casino heist, Pool tables and AirHokey were part of every single speculation before Casino dlc dropped. If they added all of those things that might mean they are actually listening to us for once. Lets assume that's the case and the new content was based around that. What else was frequently requested / what people complained about at that time? I remember: - new weapons (mostly katanas, chainsaws, grenade launcher mk2, my little friend) - better outfits - RC aircrafts - Oppressor nerf - James Bond stuff - Patriot classic - more garage space like always - more hangar space Am I missing something? edit: for now I just hope that those new arcade games are better than the last ones8 points -

Lampadati Pigalle Appreciation Thread
Tanvir135i and 6 others reacted to —TheSquid— for a topic
While your favorite auto manufacturers were busy picking their noses and pumping out boring, fuel efficient econo-boxes in the 70's, Lampadati was busy looking for some toilet paper to wipe up after a hot, steaming financial crisis in the 1960's. Lampadati was in desperate need of liquid assets, so reluctantly they became a subsidiary of a French auto manufacturer. Strangely, their parent company rarely pursued business in the US at all, despite Lampadati's reputation as a trusted Italian performance auto manufacturer. When discussing the Pigalle, it's difficult not to address the elephant in the room: it killed Lampadati. The company exists today, but in the hands of different, less ambitious owners. The Pigalle is how Lampadati lost its soul. A Pigalle advertisement: Long ago, before Coil and Hijak were mere wet dreams, it was Lampadati that people fawned over for their technological prowess—at least under the supervision of the French. Many of the safety features and luxuries you don't think of today were implemented decades ago in Lampadati vehicles; heated rear windows, seat belts, airbags, automatic windshield wipers and anti-fog headlights to name only a few. Nearly all of it can be traced back to the Pigalle in specific. The French were ambitious, and wanted to prove they weren't just good for family cars. They proposed a vehicle that would bring into question the very nature of what an automobile should be. It was meant to be safe and efficient enough to compete with Vulcar, and sporty enough to appeal to people in the market for a Grotti or a Pfister. The idea was proposed as early as 1961, but research and development truly took off in 1968 with the French acquisition of Lampadati. It was agreed that the Italian division would design the guts and the French would design the bodywork. The result was a car with an astonishingly low drag coefficient even by today's standards thanks to its teardrop shape and smooth lines. This also allowed for low fuel consumption and a higher top speed—around 140 mph. Production ran from 1970 to 1975, when Lampadati would again be bought out—this time by a former race car driver. In those five years, the Pigalle managed to light a fire under the ass of every one of its competitors. The car's european production models featured moving headlights to allow drivers to look into corners at night. The windshield wipers were made to automatically sense and adjust to different amounts of rain without any human interaction. The most fascinating inclusion, however, was its hydropneumatic suspension system. By using nitrogen gas and hydraulic fluid, the car's suspension was able to absorb extreme shock and was even capable of jacking itself up in order to remove a wheel. The Pigalle's ride is extremely soft and forgiving. So forgiving, in fact, that it needed to be stiffened due to the extreme body roll when cornering. If you ever have the pleasure of driving one, be thankful for its understeer; at least you're not upside down. Where my Pigalle and I first met: The elements weren't gentle to it... Finally, we've come to what killed the Pigalle and thus, what killed Lampadati: the engine. The Pigalle had a displacement of almost 3,000 cubic centimeters. The overhead cam V8 worked with a five-speed manual or 3-speed automatic—the former of which made around 175 ponies. France and Italy both had horsepower taxes. France and Italy also just happened to be the two countries where the vehicle was most heavily marketed. Despite every technological leap the car made, nothing could save it from its absurd pricing. Even worse was that despite being quick, its contemporaries were significantly faster and cheaper. A Pfister Comet from the same year only cost about three quarters what a Pigalle did, and it would get you around a track in less time. Five years of the Pigalle was enough to cause the French to cut ties with their Italian subsidiary, once again leaving Lampadati in the dumpster. In recent years, they've recovered significantly and are making record sales. Sadly, the only units they're moving now are bland sports-SUV's and underpowered saloons to make losers feel rich and important enough to cut you off in traffic. That's enough rambling from me though. Hopefully you enjoy the fruits of my long, strenuous restoration project. Parts for this thing weren't cheap, and the car itself wasn't either. You can find a pristine unit for around $400,000. I didn't have that kind of money at the time, but I might as well have. I dare you to find replacement headlight wipers. Thanks to DoxerWhite for doing us all a favor and putting out those hex codes. I've done it a couple times and my laptop came very close to being thrown into orbit. I'd rather have a bourbon, but wine's not so bad. Beware of wine-moms in massive SUVs when you're in wine country. Perfectly suited for a drive up in the mountains. In closing, the Pigalle is a strange beast from a forgotten era, and it could use a little love. Many of the simple things you don't notice in a car can be traced right back to this. You thought the future came in the 80's, but it was already behind you in the 60's and 70's. So next time you see a Pigalle—or rather, if you see a Pigalle, smile. Remember what Lampadati died for.7 points -

I rly hope we gonna get some cool unique heist aircrafts in this dlc. Or at least some RC toys or something with new features that expends the gameplay. Especially since the last dlc just gave regular cars and nothing else. Still waiting for AirWolf with rocket boost but there are sooo many different and weird things that they could add... Because story mode is semi realistic. And in GTAonline? Everyone owns bikes and cars with unexplained futuristic hover technology, laser weapons, TERRIBLE unrealistic outfits, orbital cannons and stuff like that. "Present day" my ass... In my eyes gtao is just a side content, imaginary fever dream/TV show/coma you fall into after getting shot for the first time. That would explain why there's technology like its the year 2177. If I would assume that the content from gtaonline is canon that would mean every future GTA game that's set after 2017 would also have to have those flying bikes in the story mode. And that... just doesn't feel like GTA at that point.6 points -

We're less than a week away from the next update and the forums are flying with anticipation. What's this about an arcade? Will there be new guns? Is that a Glock? Is that a Vauxhall? Well, I don't know the answers, but I do know one thing - we're lacking in Porsches something fierce. Does Rockstar just dislike Germany or something? So few Porsches, so few Volkswagens, even kinda shy on the Mercedes-Benz. Though I'm reluctant to ever give any one manufacturer the full spotlight in my posts - variety is the spice of life - there's something of a demand for Porsches around here, and I'm not one to deny demand. As we're getting ever closer to the holidays, it's the best time of year for the wishlist thread, so I've got a Porsche, a Porsche, a Porsche, a Porsche, and a Porsche. Let's get to it, and happy holidays! Porsche 959 The most modern of the list today, the 959 is an extremely exclusive sports car forever stuck in the 1980s. With such a streamlined design and that integrated spoiler, it's definitely a radical design, but I can't say I dislike it. Porsche 912 912? Why not 911? Well, it's mainly because it's easier to point to the short-lived 912 and say "I like this one" than going through the process of specifying which of the dozen 911 models I like the most. So the 912 is fine with me, because I'm lazy. Porsche 917 This might just be the first honest-to-God race car I've ever posted to this thread. After the S80RR appeared back in July, it got me thinking about how few real race cars we have, and even more how few European examples there are. 917 it is. Porsche 550 If you're superstitious or buy into the James Dean cult, you might have some particular thoughts about this car. I'm more reverent of Jimmy Dean, but I do think the 550 is a cornerstone of the Porsche identity in America. It's also pretty cute. Porsche 356 A And finally for the one that started it all. Porsche has come a long way from the cute, low-powered 356 in their seventy years, but I still think it's one of the best. Comet Classic it might not be, but I'd sure enjoy getting a Pfister like this.6 points -

Yes! Then let me also run the sniper without every NPC on the entire map knowing exactly where I'm at the exact moment I pull the trigger. That's driven me insane since 2013. This should be basic stuff. Same with suppressors. I pulled an NPC out of an SUV last night after I watched him mow down another civilian NPC, killing them, then turn and drive towards my direction.. I was where the bikes are in Pac Standard with my MOC, trying different optics... This guy drives into the checkpoint section with that barrier-gate deal, he drives into the side of it, next to the houses, this guy isn't even on the road anymore, at all. He keeps backing up and driving into the wall and he's speaking crazy the entire time, I watch this moron do this like 10 times, being a good samaritan, pure as driven snow, pillar of the commuity, I run up on him, pull him out his car and put about 6 rounds into his face with the suppressed beretta.. not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.. I walk about 20 yards back to the rear of the MOC and now I have stars. If this game exists into 2020, which obviously, we know it is and for many years to come, there should be all around upgrades to NPCs that are more complex than auto aim and bullet sponge. I remember one of the big things heading into release was the smarter cops... but like, that was more than 6 years ago.6 points -
