[November 13, 2019] Stability Fixes – PC Graphics & Performance Fixes Added an additional launch argument (-cpuLoadRebalancing) to rebalance workload on the CPU cores and avoid hitting an edge-case in certain NVIDIA graphics card drivers that causes significant stalls on 4-core and 6-core CPUs For more information, please see this support page: https://support.rockstargames.com/articles/360038940333 Added improvements for performance and stability on graphics cards with 4GB of VRAM or less when using Vulkan Fixed an issue that resulted in audio stuttering and sound drops on some CPUs when using Vulkan Fixed an issue that resulted in graphics problems when using Fullscreen mode on systems with multiple displays Fixed an issue that resulted in the game becoming stuck in Windowed Borderless mode instead of Fullscreen mode if the game lost focus or certain graphics settings were changed under DirectX 12 Fixed issues that resulted in the incorrect detection of devices and problems switching between SDR and HDR modes. menu and returning to the Landing Page Fixed an issue that resulted in a crash when playing Story Mode while offline Fixed crashes and stability issues that resulted in the error “Red Dead Redemption 2 exited unexpectedly” during gameplay Fixed an issue with attempting to join another player’s Red Dead Online session with a different control scheme or lock-on type that resulted in networking i think the peyote plants were removed because tryhard dipsh*ts were abusing glitches to use sticky bombs as an animal. i've also seen others interact with seats or even other peyote plants, for example, which obviously distorts the f*ck out of the animal because the anims weren't rigged for them. maybe they just pulled them back until the next update where the issues are gonna be fixed. or maybe they released it too early and are waiting until the peyote gasser is released because loool peyote car and peyote plant getit???? it just feels weird that they would notify everyone ingame that the peyote plants are "now available" and then remove them some time later. it's like announcing that the benefactor krieger is now available on legendarymotorsport.com only to remove it a week later. if the plants were halloween content, wouldn't they be removed with the other halloween content, and not today? but if they did remove them because time-limited content, then yeah that f*cking sucks. no fun allowed i guess.9 points -

The reason the CPU core workaround is a command line is because Rockstar is circumventing an NVIDIA issue that THEY have to fix. Its probably not a final fix as it's incomplete and therefore won't be added as a default. To the game and those with problems should use the command line. Even Rockstar said this wasn't yet a definite fix as NVIDIA has to do something too. This is one of Rockstars most technical patches yet and I really appreciate that. However, they did what I feared because of all the complaints about how demanding the graphics are - downgraded the games detection algorithm to put you under lower and faster settings. Don't do that, the game is just demanding and people have to get used to it.8 points -

Well this patch fixed all the issues I had with Vulkan. and the -cpuLoadRebalance helps a lot since I am running a i5 9600k. Well I am getting constant 60fps and a smooth frametime even in Saint Denis with Custom Settings(Ultra/High and a few on Medium), I'm on a 1080ti. But I think there's still a lot of room to improve in regards to the Nvidia Drivers, Nvidia has been slacking.7 points -

Feels a bit better on Vulkan. Still testing... Also, performance may feel worse because the game WILL trigger an update to your settings.xml. Everything gets reset. Max FPS reported is due to screen transitions. Therefore isn't exactly reliable. Still getting awful stutters without cpuLoadRebalancing. LOWEST SETTINGS, 720p, 0.5x as to remove GPU bottlenecks and maximize framerate. Vulkan: (SCALE IS TIGHT, BEWARE) cpuLoadRebalancing improved my average framerate and the minimums. Definitely recommended if you were having the hard stutters or perhaps any stutter at all. DX12: Patch Comparison: (SCALE IS TIGHT, BEWARE) _ cpuLoadRebalancing comparison: (SCALE IS TIGHT, BEWARE) sh*tty Half-Assed Conclusion: So far I see that VK is definitely the API of the choice. UNLESS stutters are a problem. -cpuLoadRebalancing does help. BONUS GRAPH: Work In Progress-ish, I'm running out of time since I have to do IRL stuff. @Spider-Vice How do you feel about these results? Please comment on them, I am literally out of time. Maybe test too please LMAO...7 points -

Arrows to Athens and 5 others reacted to Volganor for a topic
Plus Double Rewards on Gunrunning Sell Missions & Mobile Operations Missions, Discounts on Weaponry and more Over the past few years, the boundless creativity of the GTA Online Community has produced a near-limitless number of incredible Jobs and Races - from the innovative Fork It - Deep Sea to the legendary Super Stunt Sky. Today's update to GTA Online opens up the ability for players to build their very own wave-based Survival Modes in the Survival Creator - with options to place props and spawn points, control enemy combat proficiency, vehicle spawns and much, much more. Players can also architect their own throne rooms in the brand-new King of the Hill Creator, placing props and capture points (choose from stationary areas, item pickups such as briefcases or even driveable vehicles) with the freedom to build either team-based or free-for-all variants. Publish your original King of the Hill and Survival Jobs via Social Club for the whole community to discover, play and share. For those looking to quickly jump into a rolling playlist of Rockstar King of the Hill or Survival modes, simply navigate your way to their respective Series icons on the map to pull down Double Rewards all week long. Stockpiling and offloading weaponry on the black market is a risky business. Think about it: when was the last time someone shook your hand and introduced themselves as a retired arms dealer? For aspiring warlords trying to earn a living afoul of the law, lop 25% off the cost of Gunrunning Supplies this week and take advantage of a 50% boost in Gunrunning Research Speed. Once your stock is all piled up, don't let it sit - earn Double Rewards on Gunrunning Sell Missions through November 20. Drop by the lobby of The Diamond Casino & Resort to give the Lucky Wheel a spin for the opportunity to win GTA$, RP, clothing and more. This week's top prize is the Ocelot Stromberg, a submersible two-seater with more than a few tricks up its sleeve. It's the perfect ride for long drives on the beach, short rides off the end of the pier and deep dives into the murky depths of the Pacific. Once you're done spinning the Lucky Wheel, stop by the Casino Store to peruse the latest in fashion, from trendy streetwear brands like Blagueurs to chi-chi, dry clean only formalwear. And make sure you check out the selection of artworks from Josh Löwe, Cléo Planque and other artists before they're canceled for making offhanded controversial statements to the press. After all: nothing boosts the value of art like infamy. In addition to the black market, there are plenty of totally legal, above-board ways to get your hands on heavy weaponry in Los Santos. All this week, players can take advantage of discounts on a range of armaments, armor, military vehicles and properties, including: Bunkers, Renovations & Add-ons – 40% off Gunrunning Business Upgrades – 40% off Mobile Operations Center, Upgrades & Add-ons – 40% off Imponte Deluxo – 25% off TM-02 Khanjali – 35% off HVY Chernobog – 35% off HVY Barrage – 35% off BF Dune FAV – 35% off Karin Technical Aqua – 35% off HVY Insurgent – 35% off HVY Nightshark – 35% off HVY APC – 35% off Vom Feuer Anti-Aircraft Trailer – 35% off Bravado Half-Track – 35% off Weapon and Vehicle Workshops – 40% off Shotguns – 50% off SMGs – 50% off Assault Rifles – 50% off Heavy Weapons – 50% off Sniper Rifles – 50% off Throwable Weapons – 50% off All Ammo – 40% off Body Armor – 40% off Twitch Prime members who linked their Twitch and Rockstar Games Social Club accounts can buy the Lago Zancudo Bunker and Fort Zancudo Hangar 3499 for a complete rebate on the base property after purchase, as well as an extra 10% off all of the vehicle and amenity discounts listed above and 80% off the Coil Cyclone hypercar and Truffade Nero, for good measure. Mapping Red Dead Redemption 2! Landmark Analysis Thread
mads1153 and 5 others reacted to Jutland for a topic
I vaguely recall reading on this forum somewhere, soon-ish after the game came out, that someone had worked out the SW-NE axis of the main map to be only 11.6 km. That means the map is about 32 km square, roughly, or about 12 square miles. That might fit better with DuPzOr’s calculation for Guarma? The map feels much bigger of course, but that’s partly due to optical tricks, such as the use of colour perspective. Artists in the renaissance discovered that the further away a landscape feature is, the colder and bluer it looks. So they painted foreground hills in nice warm colours like rich green and orange, middle ground features in brown, and distant features like horizon mountains in grey/blue. It gives an illusion of huge depth. Rockstar use colour grading in more or less the same way, so the software actually gives a hill a slightly colder colour when it’s far away than when it’s close up. There are a few other tricks like that which give the illusion of immense scale.6 points -

Rockstar updated the background script yesterday with fixes to the Survival Creator. They removed the restrictions that prevented modders from having early access to the Survival Creator and King of the Hill Creator. All of this suggest we are very likely to get the Survival Creator tomorrow. They also added the Flash GT to the Casino Podium List. Keep in mind, there's a function in the background script that solve the insurance bug with the casino podium vehicle, both S80RR and Flash GT aren't part of this function. I tweeted the order of the upcoming podium vehicles, but I could be totally wrong, tomorrow's podium vehicle is supposed to be the Stromberg, but it could be anything. Rockstar may scrap the order and release the Flash GT or S80RR, but since both of them aren't part of the insurance fix function, anyone who win them will experience the insurance loss bug, that's why I didn't mention them, of course Rockstar can update the script anytime and make them part of the insurance fix function. Or maybe Rockstar didn't include them because a new update would have been released by the time we get to spin the wheel to win either Flash GT or S80RR. If this is the case, we might get the new update on December 3rd or December 5th.5 points -
