SA & LCS Vehicle Camera Port - r6
ArmanCan and 18 others reacted to erorcun for a topic
SA & LCS Vehicle Camera Hi! I've ported the San Andreas vehicle camera to III... I don't think I need any further explanation to write here. Mods confirmed to be compatible ClassicAXIS (if you turn off vehicle camera from .ini file) First Person Mod by GeniuSZ III Aircraft (you can enjoy exact same SA camera while flying aircrafts!) GInput Controls Exact same as SA; except the binding(generally RMB) that disables mouse steering/flying and enables mouse to move camera for a moment. I'm open to suggestions for which key I should use for that. Is it really exact same SA camera, technically? Except collision detecting, yes. (There is also one more case for III, it doesn't have zoom values per vehicle types, so I emulated the VC / SA / LCS system.) SA collision detecting was incompatible with III / VC, so I've used the one from LCS. Also I've fixed the LCS bug that makes you see the inside of car if you really want it. Screens VC; III; With III Aircraft; https://streamable.com/exihn In car; https://imgur.com/a/mTWjnPD (Cam. clipping through car-road is fixed) Re:LCS; Downloads Currently only for 1.0 exes of III and VC; r6 Latest release Now you can use LCSCarCam.asi on III/VC or SACarCam.asi on Re:LCS! It detects whether you use Re:LCS and changes things according to that. That's why I changed the title to SA & LCS car camera. All these times I've thought zoom values wasn't for III/VC camera system, so I had adjusted them. But it turned out some crappy mod on my SA was manipulating how I see the things (specifically FOV on 4:3 and 16:9 was same). Now I've corrected the zoom values, which will make the view zoomed out a bit on widescreen. But you can correct it via debug menu. (This is also how it's been on PS2/PSP, since their FOV is untouched unlike our games with widescreen fixes.) I've added debug menu support, there are 5 options but I won't tell them here hehe. Fixed: Camera was clipping through bike model when you're on bike. Fixed for LCSCarCam: Alpha angle(up-down) was restricted on firetruck unlike LCS. Fixed: Original SA/LCS bug, you could still move camera up-down in drive-by (and it was buggy). Download: https://github.com/erorcun/SACarCam/releases/tag/r6 Old releases Source code: https://github.com/erorcun/SACarCam Thanks to All re3 contributors, especially The Hero(aap) to help me learn reverse engineering. Noskillx for intensive testing, he really helped me and found a lot of bugs before releasing it.19 points -

I personally would not be surprised if Rockstar had handed out early copies to known modders, not saying I 100% believe it but yea. GTA modding has obviously always been a huge thing obviously but in Take-Two's eyes it gives them nothing but this year in particular GTA modding through roleplay servers has given them a sh*t ton of attention on Twitch, where they've never had any attention what so ever for any of their games outside of launch day. It's also likely given them quite a good number of sales as those servers need a legit (Steam) copy of GTA V to play. It might finally be a case of Take-Two realising there's some financial upsides to modding. In fact the moment RDR2 PC was confirmed we saw the people behind the GTA V custom server platform the RP servers use, FiveM, announce the RDR2 equivalent. The people behind the most popular RP servers on Twitch, from players to developers, also talked about how excited they are for it. We also had the voice actors for Arthur Morgan and Michael from GTA V both mention modding in their tweets about RDR2 PC the day it was announced. In an interview with Rockstar about RDO and how it's leaning into roleplay through the new Roles, they also briefly mentioned that they thought what the GTA roleplayers were doing was amazing too. This is just all speculation on my part and lets be honest we all wouldn't be surprised if Take-Two do in fact still hate modding, but we'll see, it would be amazing to see Take-Two/Rockstar publicly endorse this stuff.13 points -

Yeah, GTA V water was beautiful in X360/PS3 in 2013. The water had refractions, volumetric lights and it did a job 6 years ago. IMO RDR2 water is uglier than in GTA V, because of blurry screen space reflections. Just remember my and CP words and wait for an article like this or two weeks more. I don't want to share more leaks. I just want to tell you that R* did an excellent job to optimize the game to run it on very different configs. PS4 files don't have most of the graphics settings which I and CP wrote earlier.11 points -

Of course, because in a real PC version: 1. there's a new tab in settings menu named "graphics", it's under "controls", like CP has just written. 2. there's a QUIT option in main menu. It appears under SETTINGS. 3. A layout of graphics menu looks like: normal settings like texture quality, shadows quality etc, then there are advanced settings and finally at the bottom of the menu there are resolution settings, vsync and so on.8 points -

Yes, I believe it could be the December DLC, because you know the code I found was included with the casino update, it wasn't there before the update. It may turn out to be a new mode that function like free roam or it could be custom free roam session like @HamwithCheese said. As to how it would function, it will be something like when you start up the game, there will be an option that would launch the mode, this will transfer you to a session that look like free roam but it's different than the regular free roam, the rules would be different there, CEO or MC President may not be a thing. It could have its own roles with businesses and such. Or it could be something like this Some kind of gang territory mode like Cops n Crooks. I don't think it would be like you launch a mission and then you become a cop, I believe it's more like free roam but you are always a cop or a criminal. When you do something as a criminal, the cops are informed of what you have done thus they chase you and try to arrest you. It is something that affect your overall experience, not just a mission where you go there, do this and that, then go back ..etc8 points -

Hiring a lawyer
DeltaV20 and 5 others reacted to Zello for a topic
Now this depends entirely on the character R* creates and if they have a criminal empire to run. If they're a hired gun or just not interested in running a criminal empire then they don't really need to hire a lawyer. Having a lawyer can be very useful for criminals especially if you run an illegal criminal empire. They could help you find ways to launder your money, feed you information, and keep your organization out of legal trouble. Lawyers could tell you about potential witnesses that could testify in court or jurors. Witnesses intimidation and jury tampering and the case is thrown out of court keeping our protagonist free. To other things say one of the members of your organization gets picked up arrested. Your lawyer gets them out with a slap on the wrist. Or in free roam if you get busted instead of losing all your weapons if you got a good lawyer you keep your weapons and the drugs you had stashed in the trunk of your car. It would also be a nice callback to this6 points -

The optimization isn’t that bad. The game looks even nice on low graphics quality, except for textures that are very blurry and draw distance of trees, because leaves disappear in the distance. Unfortunately, there seems to be lack of raytracing options, controlling vignette, chromatic abberation or even clouds quality. There’s about thirty graphics options. Grass shadows quality, grass draw distance, two options for ambient occlusion, I don’t know what is the difference between them. Temporal AA finally seems to work, because TXAA in GTA V didn’t work properly. An interesting option is async compute. Supported APIs are dx11, dx12 and vulkan. Can’t wait to check it on my PC. Which API is the best.6 points -

I think a Naval update would be cool. We could own the aircraft carrier where we can use the flight deck to store fighter jets and fighter planes. The carrier can have anti-air missiles to like the yacht to give players a safe zone around their ship so they don't get griefed. We can get modified dingy's with mounted .50 Cal and optional miniguns. We can store our submarines so we don't have to call Pegasus every time. They can bring back the Vortex, the actual Vortex, not the craptastic bike we got in GTAO, but this epic hover boat. They could even make a bigger version to carry multiple people.6 points -

It's been a while since my last update. I know it's probably way too late for some of you. Seeing as there's that interactive map regularly updating. I've been ultra-busy, but I started it, so I had to finish this. I also decided to tailor this map for offline use. Say you don't have fast internet, well it's all there in front of you, downloaded. No messing around. Save your data for the game it's self. Or if you're really old skool, print it out and have it as a physical map! Here's a preview of the map: *Update Notes* - added tarot card icons for each type as requested. - fixed colors which made it hard for colorblind people to differentiate cycles as requested. - added all cave interiors to the map to make it clear where the locations are, as requested. - added cycle schedule, each cycle for each day of the week Version 2.1 *Update* - fixed Madam Nazar location - fixed a couple of spelling errors - Added reset times for multiple time zones Download the High-res image here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/F9rign6mTnrXPrYq6 Download the High-Res Print Friendly image here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/2GEHE9T238TSfthb9 I do recommend printing at A3, as A4 text will not be legible.6 points -

I'm glad Three Leaf Clover doesn't waste our time with "preparing". I've seen people over the years complain it just happens out of the blue, but that's kinda the point. For one Niko's just a crew member so he's not supposed to be preparing and two it's supposed the sell the idea that the McRearies are incompetent. It's a stretch to say any heist is "realistic", but Three Leaf Clover manages to still feel like the most grounded. I think bogging the player down with preparing would've killed the tension and surprise. It really feels like Packie was up smoking weed one night and thought he'd invite Niko to get involved in family business. It's the most unique heist in the series and does it with a minimalistic, no nonsense approach. Love it.5 points -

In GTA IV Jim was depicted as generic balding, Caucasian biker. It's unknown why exactly his appearance was completely changed, but I assume it's a bit like when they overhauled Vic from Vice City to VCS. Maybe they had no plans for Jim to be a major character in TLAD, but saw potential in him later on. I think why he's black in TLAD is to drive the point that The Lost aren't racist rednecks like the AOD and skin colour is no boundary for the brotherhood and like I said the original "Jim" looked generic like a random biker/gang member.4 points -

Would be interesting, like when you get that cop girlfriend in San Andreas so when you get arrested you don't lose any weapons. And I think it should be more like Heist crews in GTA V, where each has a different ability and a different pay. So let's say normally when you get arrested without a lawyer, you lose all your weapons, your car goes to a crusher and 24 in-game hours pass. If you get a sh*tty lawyer, you'll leave jail with pistols and melee weapons, you'll be able to recover your car in the impound lot and 18 in-game hours pass. And if you get a great lawyer, you'll leave jail with all your weapons, your car and everything inside it will be at the impound lot and 6 in-game hours pass. Alternativelly, you could call a hacker to remove your charges from the system, it would cost more and take longer, but you're sure to leave jail with everything you had when going in. But I also feel like in order for this to work, the police should, y'know, actually try to arrest you. None of those slow fat cops from GTA IV or the trigger-happy police from V, they should carry (and use) tazers and nightsticks, maybe even tackle the player at higher wanted levels.4 points
