I didn't understand it either until GTAO from 2017 onwards. I actually felt compelled to play, even though it was mind numbing. I'd either be in a solo lobby grinding away at I/E and VIP work or I'd be replaying Heist finales for hours on end. I wasn't enjoying the game at all in the most part, but I'd become so fixated on that number in the top right hand corner that I was actually forcing myself to play. I wouldn't go so far as to call it an addiction, because on days where I couldn't play I wasn't affected negatively in any way, but when I had free time it had to be spent on GTAO, it didn't matter how bored or p*ssed off with the game I got, if I had a spare hour, I played GTAO. RDR2 actually changed that. People from the GTAO section might remember that I had no intention of even buying RDR2, had it not been for my wife buying it for me as a birthday gift I quite possibly wouldn't have bought it by now. But I'm glad she did. The RDR2 story made me fall in love with gaming all over again, it had me playing a game because I actually enjoyed the game, because I was invested in the characters and the story. That has fully carried over into RDO. I think, for me personally, this has much to do with me not grinding the game, in the most part. Yeah, the Bounty Hunter ranks were a b*tch to get through, but other than that I haven't really chased anything. In the most part I've ignored money, gold and rank, I've just done things I enjoy for as long as I'm enjoying them, then moved onto something else. Playing that way has naturally earned money, gold and rank, but not focusing on them has made my play time so much more enjoyable and gratifying.

It's the Doomsday Heist method of artificially raising difficulty. Give NPC's a ridiculous amount of health, make them spawn in high numbers out of nowhere and buff their accuracy through the roof. Why make AI smart when you can just make a high volume of super accurate bullet sponges? Amirite.

I'm getting more and more suspicious that the recent dripfeed cars in GTA Online is being ported over from a WIP GTA VI, which is rumoured to be set in different eras. Just look at the most recent car and it's customization options. Timestamp 2:43. Reminds me very much of an old school cab.

Hairworks in RDR2 might just be enough to push my framerate into the negative.

I don't think it matters, Rockstar hinted towards an upcoming 4k/60FPS trailer last week. It would make sense for them to reveal it this week considering how they had the site ready for the trailer.

Who remembers watching GTA5Videos, iRue399, Olli43 and GTA 5 O'clock before the game came out breaking down trailers and screenshots that was back when Gtamen was LibertyLunatic and just a side character in iRue399s videos lol and look at him now
