Stolen the car, parked it inside the Brucie's garage. Cuscene with Nico and mechanic exchange words. Nico is leaving the garage and the garage door slams shut right in front of his nose. Nico get's stuck (continues to bump against the door), no keyboard controls working, autosave is not triggered yet. The only option is to reload last save.

Tried a couple of times (killing the pursuers instead ignoring them, going to "Pay'n Spray" instead of driving straight to the garage) - result is the same.

Has anybody encountered something like that?

I've noticed that I can't load my save game when the console isn't connected to the internet, because I can't log in to my Microsoft account.

Is there a solution for this?

The savegames are stored on the internal hard drive not in the cloud.

It wouldn't make sense for me to invest so much time in a save game with special vehicles if I can't access it later if Microsoft ever discontinues the service.

Edit: Second question: Can I use these save games later in an emulator?

I don't know after how many calls the mission will initiate so I'd start driving towards Grummer Road. I either don't catch up, or don't kill him over the waters. 

PS: The man across from the Bohan Safehouse is super annoying ! 

I finished Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend and since then no new missions appear.
No calls, no icons, nothing. I already checked guides - I’m supposed to get Pegorino’s Pride (Mission 77) but it never triggers.

What I tried:

• Sleeping several times

• Hanging out with Kate/Packie (got them to 100% like and proccess)

• Driving to Pegorino’s house (with and without suits)

• Doing police/vigilante missions

• Calling every contact multiple times

• Replaying older side content

• Checking emails (nothing new)

• Restarting the game, restarting PC

Nothing works. It’s been over a week in-game and real life.

I tried downloading savefiles online, but:

• Half the links are dead

• Many RAR/ZIP files are broken

• Some saves are 100% only, not mission 77 (or before and after)

• Steam won’t load some of them

• And a few that DID download just say “corrupted save”

I just want a clean Mission 77 (Pegorino’s Pride) save compatible with GTA IV Steam / Complete Edition so I can continue the storyline instead of restarting 30+ missions again.

If anyone has:

• A working mission 77 or 78 save

• Or a reliable download link

• Or knows how to fix the corrupted 1.9MB saves

• Or any trick to force the Pegorino trigger

I am not able to save the mission passed in game.. whenever I try to do it keeps saying saving failed..not enough storage..whereas I have hundreds of GB of storage in my system also I have tried all the tricks available on YouTube..raised my concern to rockstar but still haven't received any revert from them...

Hello, I installed iCEnhancer 4 to play the game again with nice graphics. But now the Cops Sirene are not working and I’m stuck in this one Mission, after killing Vlad. I fixed the ZolikaPatch with CopSirensFlag=0 but it’s still not working. I hope somebody can help me, it’s rly Frustrating.

I made the mistake of buying GTA 4 on the rockstar launcher and I recently downgraded it to 1.0.7.0, but whenever I try to run it the rockstar launcher just updates it to the newest version and I can't stop it. I've looked everywhere but nothing seemed to help. Any ideas?

For example, at the time of writing I have a nVidia GeForce 8800GTS with 320MB of RAM. This card can also make used of shared RAM (memory taken from your system's RAM, of which I currently have a total of 4GB). I'm not sure how much it is possible to use, but DxDiag reports me as having 2GB of graphics memory, pretty awesome, that means it's taken 1.7GB from my system RAM, meaning I've got 2.3GB left, plenty to play GTA IV.

So, naturally I want to play on as higher settings as possible for my computer. But because the game only recognises 320MB of that video RAM, I'm severely limited. Here's what to do to get around those limits:

Retail version instructions

1. Create a shortcut on your desktop to the LaunchGTAIV.exe - by default this will be in C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV

2. Right click the shortcut and click Properties

3. Make sure the Shortcut tab is selected. You should see a field called "Target", edit this to say the following, making sure the path is correct, I'm just using the default here:

QUOTE

"C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -norestrictions -nomemrestrict

That includes the quote marks and the options coming after the link to the path

4. Click Apply

5. Double click the shortcut to launch the game.

1. In steam, right click the game right click the game in Steam and go to Properties > Launch Options

2. Add the command: -norestrictions -nomemrestrict

3. Launch the game

Like I showed in the above screenshot? Well, this is what happened to me. There's simply not enough memory available to load up all the textures. Upon leaving the safehouse I was greeted by the following:

However, the player models looked amazing! tongue.gif

NOTE: Remember to be sensible with the settings. If you've got a sh*tty card then there's really no point turning everything up high, it'll be way too laggy to play. Play around with the settings until you reach a compromise between nice quality, and good framerate.

 I have the xbox 360 disc version of the game. 

 What do you recommend buying an Xbox 360 console or newer that is backwards compatible. 

 I can get an Xbox 360e for €60

I've been trying to set framelock to 30 frames in GTA IV for stable performance (I own the game through Rockstar Games Launcher). Commandline.txt and in-launcher Launch Arguments don't work. Only thing that worked is FusionFix, but it makes my game glitch a bit. DXVK works on my system quite unstable, so I want to lock the framerate without mods. I would be grateful for advice.

My specs:

Windows 11 Pro

Intel Core i5-1135g7 with Iris Xe graphics

8+16 GB of RAM

Information: on the 1.0.7.0 patch, the savefiles are located on the "appdata" folder, while on the 1.0.8.0 patch, they are located on "Documents/Rockstar Games/GTA IV", EVERYTIME I run the vanilla game (1.0.8.0, no moddifications installed), not only the error message appears, but also, even after deleting, a folder on my appdata is created called "GTA IV" with two folders called "Settings" and "User Music", inside the "Settings" one, there are two files called "Limits.dat" and "XString.dat" , I CAN'T delete this files, as when I delete, the files reappear. The "cloudsave.dat" and other RGL files are created on my "Documents" folder though.

So what I think happened? My game gets "confused" on the folder in which the savegames are stored, and, because of that, it just does not save at all. I think I can easily solve this by changing the user on windows, or even formating my computer, but obviously, this is a bit extreme.

How can I play the 1.0.8.0 again without needing to format my PC or something like that?

P.S: I tried deactivating "Controlled Folder Access" on the Windows Defender settings, it didn't worked, mentioning this because I read some topics explaning that you need to deactivate this setting before playing GTA 4 with FusionFix installed, or something like that.

I have found many people that have this exact same problem on the version 1.0.4.0, but haven't found any working solution. This bug only happens to me on this version of the game, it really ruins it for me. 

Since everyone recommends 1.0.4.0, I would like to ask for help with this serious issue

Luckily I had a backup game copy, but what was strange was when I tried deleting the copy that kept crashing, I was unable to delete a lot of the files in the textures folder because windows said they were "corrupted and unreadable", forcing me to skip them in the deletion process.

Why I'm bringing this up is because I want to ask if GTA IV slowly deteriorates in the steamapps folder everytime I shut my PC of since this has happened to me before, only now I was lucky enough to have a spare main modded copy installed. 

I found my own old save file with 99,30% completion (everything done except the last story mission, no cheats or hacks), time played 94 hours.

I used this save editor to change this to 24 hours (i.e. just replaced 9 with 2 and saved with no other changes), copied it to my PS3, loaded and finished the last mission.

No trophy. The game stats say 100% complete, ~24 hrs played time, but trophy didn't ding.

Any clue what's up? Maybe the game takes something else into consideration when it comes to LC Minute trophy?

Notes:

* after loading the save, the game says "trophies available". I also got another trophy (rolled over) on this same save file, thus there's nothing preventing trophies in general.

* I have a digital (vanilla US) and a physical (Complete Edition UK) versions of the game. Both load the same saves but same result.

* the PS3 saves pinned in this forum don't work for me, the game doesn't recognize them. And I can't find other saves for download just before the last mission.

* even if I could, GTA IV won't load saves made by someone else. I tried loading the saves on other profiles on my PS3 and got an error "You did not create this save game data. File cannot be loaded." Maybe one of the updates introduced this change.

* no, I'm not gonna replay the game, I don't care how easy it is, I don't care I can use taxis, car spawning cheats and skip cutscenes and I certainly don't care you managed to finish the game in 0.8, 8 or 18 or 28 hours, so please don't suggest this. I'll play the whole game again when I feel like it.

* I also don't care if it's cheating. I've played this game through a dozen times including 100%. Not my fault R* likes to put retarded trophies in their games. Also it's an interesting problem to solve IMO. If I can't solve it, that's fine too.

Then it starts new game in place of that. I can see the benefits of downgrading as game loads quickly and runs smoothly but the error mentioned above is a big hurdle.

I tried saving in that new gameplay, then overwriting with previous saved files but it just says that it cannot load.

Note: I didn't used radio downgrader given in guide I mentioned above. 

I just downloaded GTA TBoGT and when I launched it, I got a problem. There are no textures, I don't see buildings and roads, I don't see my character, I don't see anything. Except the lights from cars and the lights from buildings windows. It feels like I just downloaded GTA without textures.
