Here's another one. The bikes [as always]; are utter, utter rubbish next to the cars [sigh-jet skis too, as it's impossible to fall off], and are so ridiculously arcadey as to be overpowered..so WHY allow people to chose between them, a TRUCK [no joke], an F-250 [slightly smaller truck] or Hummer [ditto] in races?? Two guys racing; I chose a hummer, he chose a bike..and had dissappeared before the first corner. Keep the races; bikes OR 4 wheeled vehicles of a similar class. Otherwise..people will cheat by default, and go for the bike. As a bonus, it means I can [hopefully] avoid anything to do with bikes, much as I do the planes [I prefer sims-Birds of Steel is the online game I've put the most time into]. Helicopters are challenging enough to be fun, although it's still no; 'Apache Air Assault [made by the same Russian company that did BoS].
On the 'blip' thing; 1 square km is a HUGE area-you'd never find anyone. If stealth mode made you invisible-or flash once every few seconds; that would be a happy medium-as you move slooowly, and can't take cover.
In fact, I'm generally a NO on things that would make gta safer such as this, and friendly fire. I'd been robbed in stores and killed outside gunstores frequently in the early days..I'm CAREFUL when I do these things now, so if a player's waiting to kill me-it's my own damn fault. I check everything. Adds to the game. I don't hop in peoples cars anymore; because most of them are maniacs and drive like retards-crashing into everything. I usually kill who I'm chasing; for that reason-they're careless, and that's their fault. I just have to wait for them to f**k up. Same as with 'friendly fire'. Be more careful.
G.T.A is all about; being a criminal, and living in a dangerous world-fuelled by your 'id'. There's always; Super Mario Kart, if you don't like being shot all the time. No friendly fire in that, either. With the mini map, it's EASY to avoid people. Though killed 20 times by one 'griefer'; I went to HIM as I was having fun. Not once, have I ever felt like I couldn't get away if I truely wanted to. As most people are careless, if this game teaches people to be a little more careful; maybe it's even doing a service to society, who knows...
And why does being careful matter? Because of this;
"On the first-page of the first-chapter of; "The Great Gatsby" [the most famous U.S novel of all-time, and compulsory reading in U.S universities-I've read it 4 times for fun], the narrator divides all of humanity into: 'careful' or 'careless'. Careless people: always leave a trail of debris behind them [literal, metaphorical and emotional], which they expect others to clean up, and are only interested in their own narrow, selfish existence".
It's like..insider knowledge, on who to avoid, and who to let into your life. It also pretty much sums up everything that's wrong with the world, too.
Edit, oh yeah; I really do like the idea of having more functionality with the cop cars, and areas of violent activity highlighted-so I know where the party is!
