I would love to see a woman as a protagonist in GTA, but clearly the fanbase isn't ready for it. If you actually believe that it wouldn't work unless she was a "butchy lesbian," or a "stripper/prostitute," you have a warped idea of what women are. If you think that it wouldn't work because GTA is social commentary, but there are no female criminals to satire, perhaps you should reconsider how important "reality" is in the construction of a virtual world. And if you think it's as easy as dropping Lara Croft into San Andreas, you're what's wrong with gamers and you prove the sentiment that "GTA is awesome but it has a terrible fanbase" (though I will concede, no one's is worse than CODs).
Feminism isn't all about bra burning, my friends. It's actually come some way since the 60's.
