The Hype for this machine is just incredible. Yesterday went to pick up my friend who works in a supermarket. There were like 50-80 people lining up from 6:30 PM. She hasn't seen anything like this before.
If anyone notices the red light on the PS4, it's because it's overheating due to the airflow being trapped in one place. This is one of the main issues occurring with many PS4 owners in North America as well as the HDMI issue.
i've read this on other forums. Sony have done a Microsoft this time. They gone and put a smaller fan in the system. This will cause issues in the future, when people are playing more and longer. worst of all they in cased the entire heat sink in plastic. PS4 will have terrible heating issues by the looks of it [and sounds of it]
Xbox one fan:
FYI, PS4 has a large number of "individual" fans compared to Xbone. It is actually produces more RPM (Revolutions per Minute) than Xbone.
And no, most "Reputed" tech sites doesn't mention any of what you mentioned.
How many of actually had problems with their system day one? I am thinking of picking up one if it is not sold out, but I wonder if it is worth the risk? I could wait if I want and Im not so urgent, but if I decide to pick up one soon, I would like to hear if anyone here had any complaints as with hardware.
I know about the lack of games, and non hardware things are something I will have to deal with.
The thing I read about was the blue light pulsing and the hdmi was not reading it.
Sony announced the failure rate is .4 % of the consoles sold (estimated around 1-1.5 million units). It is acceptable rate for any electronic device, since it is an common occurrence when a new device launches. (It may be due to poor packaging, manufacturing error, etc....)
