Folks I believe to have cracked the big mystery of Trevor and Johnny's encounter; as I was merely replaying through Grand Theft Auto V and arrived at the Mister Philips mission, I was just passively enjoying the cutscene delivery, the pacing, Scott Hill's performance ... and then suddenly something happened, and completely shook me out of the cinematic. A realization that ruined my appetite for the scene as the jarring occurrence just blew my mind to the highest extent, taking me away from the fiction, where I simply couldn't remove the thoughts of the developer's own.
It all suddenly became clear to me.
The entire justification, motive, and intentions the writers wanted to convey through this scene.
So, after having realized that Michael was alive during this past decade, Trevor stops his random screwing, mouth slightly gapped open, and walks out of his trailer.
Now, observe his movement and behavior.
He is insanely calm throughout this moment: he walks instead of running, he slides past the people who were in front of his way instead of pushing them out sideways, he remains quiet and thoughtful instead of blaring out a train load of profanities and insults.
Compared to the other Grand Theft Auto protagonists, he is being surprisingly 'civil', which is the complete opposite of what his characterization is supposed to represent.
Trevor isn't listening to what Ashley or Johnny are saying and ignores them. He doesn't notice Ron or Wade either. Trevor is, well, alone.
Trevor doesn't respond to any of Johnny's calls, not even when he runs up to him.
Then suddenly, this happens ...
"Hey! I'm talking to You, mother-fcker!!"
And it was only Then, where Trevor decided to turn around, and converse with Johnny ...
THE ENTIRE SCENE WAS MERELY A SET-UP TO THE RAMPAGE SIDE MISSIONS.
This was never about showing how insane or tough or badass Trevor is compare to other leading protagonists.
This was not a moral lecture on how drugs are bad.
This was not about a duel of story-driven protagonists versus gameplay-justifiable protagonists.
This Was Merely A FORESHADOWING.
Outstanding Thunderous Applause to the writers.
MONSTROUS GROUND SHAKING APPLAUSE AND PRAISES TO SUCH MARVELOUS USE OF SCREENWRITING TECHNIQUES.
You mean that all this was perfect top-notch writing?
Congrats! you've now entered the acceptance stage of mourning.
Can we drop this? you obviously didnt get my point.
in other news, i was just shaving my head when the stupid hair clipper stopped working, and now i look like a f*cking freak with half hair on. gonna have to run to the market and get another or something lmfao.
Also Rick the timing should be today at 10PM for you.
Thats why i meant as in maybe, yeah it wouldnt feel right to change anything about us, and its not like theres a lot of gangs out for grabbing in gta, its just that R* screwed us with this online crap, take a look at this mission. online is filled with those:
Yeah we'll discuss that another time. lets see first how many recruits were gonna find. because as of now we really dont have that much numbers to keep playing V when the time comes. im certainly not against making changes to the group if we have to, better than blowing up the Lost while wearing Lost patches. then screaming LOST MC!
As for, terry, clay, etc.. sadly none of those guys have any importance in the game. neither is johnny. johnny had the vp patch, terry's model can be seen sometime wandering in lost santos. they were just placed there in a sloppy manner to get shanked by trevor.
Yeah the missions sucks. but isnt there a free mode or something that missions are disabled in? we can just cruise around and do activities and stuff, basically the same as IV free mode, but without missions.
