So, my office PC won't let me use a pen drive in spite of all the USB ports being enabled. The moment I connect a flash drive, it gets disabled and no matter how many times I enable it via the Device Manager, it goes back to being disabled.
I can see that the computer recognizes the drive which is evident by the icon in the taskbar but the drive doesn't show up in My Computer (due to being disabled).
Here's a list of things that I've tried so far;
1. Enabling it from Device Manager. 2. Uninstalling it from Device Manager and reinstalling. 3. Checking the value of USBSTOR entry in the Windows registry. It's correctly set to an hexadecimal value of 3. 4. Disabling all USB ports and re-enabling them. 5. Tried updating the drivers but it can't find any. 6. Deleting the UpperFilters entry relating to disk drives from the registry. 7. Restarted the PC several times.
It's not a hardware problem as the same ports used to work perfectly fine until I had to replace the HDD. So I'm assuming this has got something to do with a certain setting. And of course, my USB mouse works fine on all ports. Also, I tried using different pen drives; same result.
So, the only thing now left to do is to reset the BIOS via the CMOS battery. I don't have the password to the BIOS so I can't reset it logically. But before I do this, I'm hoping someone knows something else that can be done to get the pen drive working again. So, anyone?
So, the RoboCop reboot is set for release in 2013. Now, as a kid, I enjoyed the old Robocop movies and even today, they don't seem cheesy to me at all.
What the f*ck is that?! As someone on FB pointed out, that looks like the bastard son of Judge Dredd and Batman. I had to come here and make a topic about it just to showcase my disappointment.
I mean, I didn't expect them to stick with the original suit, but I certainly didn't expect them to f*ck it up in this manner. I'm also not sure about the human right hand and robotic left hand thing. Never heard of the director, Josť Padilha, either. I just hope he doesn't do to RoboCop what Schumacher did to Batman.
I'm not sure if this would be the right place to ask, but I guess this falls under the Tech category, so here goes...
I'm planning on buying a 1.5 ton split AC for my living room as summer has begun here and it's pretty f*cking hot. However, I have very limited knowledge when it comes to good brands, what to look for in specifications and such.
Can any of you guys point me in the right direction? I'm looking at one of those power saving 5 star ACs. Budget is anywhere between Rs.30000 and Rs.35000.
