"My mother's my sister."

That's something I still quote today.

"You're a big tough yanky boy, eh?"

"You want the chainsaw, gringo?"

"Run, or die."

You're gonna be sorry."

Simple quotes from the Colombians.  However, quotes, that always stay with me and things that I remember.  There isn't this same sort of special feeling from HD Era GTA Games, imo.  The peds were always the best in III, VC, SA, LCS, and VCS.

Indeed.  "I'm going to kill you!" is also quite funny how they say it.  I love III so much! :)  They just don't make 'em like they used to...

I just like how they tried to personify the pedestrians back in that era. They didn't do it to the extent of Bully in where everyone had a fleshed out personality, but it wasn't a sea of generic faces as is the case with the HD era games. Something just felt right about III in general regarding that.

Well, in Bully they are in fact supposed to be unique characters inhabiting the town (even if they keep suspiciously teleporting around) but I get what you mean. I can still remember all the peds in SA, the way they looked, walked and their unforgettable quotes. Starting with IV they just tried making things more realistic by introducing the scrambling system, which makes far more sense than armies of clones on the street but it's not as memorable.

Kinda like you'd know every city corner because it stood out in the low detail, while in HD you may forget about places because they're much more like real life.

True that. Sometimes the realism gets in the way in that instance and takes the fun out of it. Hell, the scrambling sorta ruined the funny in it aswell. There's something funnier about an old man saying "My mother's my sister" than some Mexican saying "f*ck me in the ass".

"Get in the back!  Ahhhhhh"

L.C. Taxi Driver! :D

But I agree.  The peds in the 3D Era are simplistic, yet very funny.  The magic of the peds has disappeared since 2008 with the inception of the HD Era.

I thought it was "I have no problem to kill you!". Then again it could be a different speech file you are referring to. :)

Speaking of memorable peds, anyone remember that gay construction worker who spewed one-liners?

WHERES MY DAMN TOOLS.

I used to have a buddy who, when she was younger, thought that the guy's tools were actually hidden in Portland and you had to find them to get the bridge fixed.

"Yup, I've been drinking again".

"Always trouble".

And everything the gay worker says.
