Shotgun reload

 

 

Have you noticed that the shotgun fires shots forever without ever reloading?

 

Well this fixes that.

 

Now the shotgun shots maintaining it's "cocking" sound after every shot but cj needs to reload after firing 8 times, like in real life.

There is a better way , buddy.ifp has 2 animations , one called Buddy and one Buddybad

you can use buddybad in weapon.dat and replace it with the shotgun pump animation , then you get it fully working (SPAS still uses the buddy animation , while the shotgun will use unused buddybad one that has been changed into shoot and pump animation)

Incredible how I've never seen anyone doing this before.

Change sound delay from 500 to 300, here had better results.

The devil is on the details, i am not a great coder, but i do like to believe i have good ideas.

Yeah i'm also interested and would like to see a video of it. i don't have GTA SA installed right now, so i can't test it myself :D

If i had a better computer, that doesn't drop to 15 fps while recording a game video i would do it.

The shotgun works the same way the difference is that it has 8 bullets now, the cocking sound is a cleo sound, reproduced by a cleo script, and the reload animation is the one from the automatic shotgun.

The mod substitutes the buddy anim on gta3.img the weapon.dat with the same stats and default.ide with animations changed, it also has a readme to change the weapon dat and default.ide options yourself

I hope that description is enough.

Any chance to do the same for sniper rifle and country rifle? And optionally flamethrower, minigun, rocket launcher and heat seeker?

Not sure how stable the mod would be in the long run - anytime I've done an anim swap in default.ide like this my game would eventually start crashing. I had crashes lately and I'm not sure if it was cause of this or something else as I got rid of several things at once. Either way yeah it'd be great to make it for sniper and other things too, hmm..

Either way yeah it'd be great to make it for sniper and other things too, hmm..

 

This, is actually stable, is such a small script it is practically impossible to be causing crashes, i think you were the guy that told me he reinstalled Sa for my mods right?

If you are using "reinforcements" redownload it man, it was causing crashes when getting away from the enemies, that must be it, the rest of my stuff is pretty much stable now, trust me i play for long hours with everything together just to make sure is all good.

I think I narrowed down the crashing to outdated modloader version, still though my point remains basically any time I edited animation entry in default.ide (i usually always replaced colt45 with silenced pistol anims) my game would start crashing after 30 min or so. Maybe it doesn't happen with modloader though.

By the way you really ought to make some kind of 'showroom', it's kind of a pain digging for all your mods through the forum when they could be put in some list :D

This mod hasn't crashed for me in 3hr playsessions though.

Also thanks for providing the weapon.dat lines in the read me, makes it a lot easier to combine with the no dual wield mod done by junior :-)
