GTA SA crashing half-way through loading screen, what file is broken?

I actually figured out it was a file in GTA3.img that was causing the crash

I can't tell what it was, is it the save-game editor I used? Or the MG Rex mod? I know that the loading screen can tell very smart coding magicians what files are damaged, what do you suggest?

Try deleting the .set file in your gta sa documents. If that doesn't work, reinstall the game.

The what?

There is a file named "gta_sa.set" in the user documents.
