I use my headset but not the mic as my PS4's are in the living room. To be honest I don't really need one seeing that most players/friends I play with are experienced.

The only time I use my headset is for mouth movement for photography purposes.

I only use it to talk socially with friends or if I see something that is just totally off in a mission to provide guidance.

But by and large, I don't use it and prefer not to. Playing this game isn't rocket science and there are clear directives provided on the screen. Sure when there's new missions or tough ones it may be nice to discuss a little strategy. But I always view that as an optional benefit than a necessity.

I don't think people need to be hand held every step of the way.

With friends online - Party chat. Always nice to chat sh*t with mates.

When doing Elite's, and to an extent CMM runs. Very helpful, more-so with elite's as they in places have real time constraints, so to tell a pilot when we're leaving the prison in a hurry... Key to success IMO. Can't beat a mic. (Messages can get delayed).

When in public sessions. No interest in talking to the average Joe out there. It's plugged in and on my lap/table in front of me. I often still hear it coming through the mic, lol. (Like sitting next to someone with an iPod on the bus, lol).

When I go on call for heists, missions, and races. I'll have it in, but usually switched off on my end. Listen in and see. But texting works just as good for things here too. 20% is easy for all to understand, lol. I may pop on when I see a job going south, in hope of helping it go smoother, but can't win 'em all.

@ REXX...

And yet again. I forgot all about that side of the game... Lol. My bad dude.

I love that the mouth moves too, lol. Those lil' bits add the depth this game is so good with at times man.

OP... I shout at the odd store clerk when robbin' the gaff, lol. Totally forgot that!.

(Though, much more an older thing I did more than still do)

And of course... Singing in the shower... Free RP if you serenade the lobby, lol.

Only when playing with friends, most of the time I just use my earbuds with no mic.

I use head sets rarely. I like being quiet and sneaky. I mostly use them when I haven't broken them by being so clumsy.

I use it to listen to stuff when I'm not playing with no sound. But I don't have the mic on unless I'm in a party.

I rarely use a headset, I'm on mic even less.

I'll occasionally get on mic when doing heists with randoms, either to offer some guidance or try and stop someone f*cking around. But that's about it these days.

I'm not much of a talker irl, so I'm not likely to start bending someones ear in game.

Never felt the need to use one in GTA.   The flow of salt is entertaining without the need to engage in voice shenanigans.

I very rarely use my mic. If something needs to be discussed we just set up a group chat, some players dont use mics at all so its easier to just make a text chat so everyone is on the same page.

Well i always use a headset whenever i play, but i always mute the mic, the only reason i use the headset is for the sound experience, the detail of the engine sound, city surroundings, even i can hear a street busker playing near my maze bank office

It's amazing how detailed they made this game

Just drive your cars around and punch them in both eyes causing immediate blindness.

I use a headset so I can hear those sweet engine sounds better, turn on the mic every once in a while if I am home alone.

I'll use the mic on heists if others have one too... I don't like to be the only person talking and giving instructions though...

In freeroam I almost always go after people who have mics on since actually hearing a response to a kill is funny. I won't do it if they are being civil but most open mics are just blaring static or crappy music.

Headphones unless I'm charging them. Normally have the mic off unless I bump into players in missions / heists who are also using mics.

I always have it plugged in, but only use it when playing with friends. The rest of the time I just use it to block out annoying sounds when playing with randoms and waiting for a race, mission etc. to start.

Only use the headset for voice; a good sound system still beats the best headphones any time.
