Realllllly torn on which to buy and would like some advice. From where I sit:

Both helis have very similar speed, handling, and armor.

The hunter can barrage and home, also has countermeasures.

The Akula has off-radar, which is insanely cool and would make it the auto pick for me. However, you can't get rid of the god-awful red star and football numbering on the sides- small thing, but its absolutely driving me crazy. All my aircraft are a nice vasic jet black, and this clown is gonna look all out of place in my hanger.

Thoughts?

Just buy both Hunter is better if your already spotted and Akula is good for sneak attacks. I still mostly use the Savage because it`s a pegasus vehicle and has beam of death.  :D

Hunter doesn't have a purpose.

Buy the Akula. I've never had so much fun with an aircraft. The stealth mode is great for perma-hiding when tryhards are about. Wait for the perfect moment and BAM! Got em!

The hunter has better armor, and the Akula is faster, they handle similarly though

Akula is love. Akula is life.

I'd personally buy both, makes your Hangar's sex appeal rise to god status.

I think they have the same armor and the Hunter is a bit faster when flying straight forward, but the Akula is faster in gaining altitude. The handling of the Akula is better, IMO.

I think Akula is alright if the person is able to use the nose machineguns in air to air fight.

I still think the Hunter is better, because countermeasures.

(i destroyed two akulas with my Hunter, as expected, they didn't used the nose guns, guessing peoples don't really care if the Akula is a helicopter and think Stealth mode gives automatic victory, those peoples would have bought any memomobile if Stealth mode was implemented onto).

They are both good but I use the Akula more than 90% of the time.. not sure if it's a personality thing or it's just that much better.. I dunno.. it's more fun this is for sure. Easily the most fun vehicle in the game for me.

I can't imagine not owning both of them myself. Having both makes you feel like a surgeon with an array of tools for the job. Got something for the guy spamming off the radar, something for the guy spamming Oppressor, etc.

If you don't get both, then I would say just get what feels right to you (as unhelpful as that is). It's not really a clear cut thing where there's a right or wrong answer; just preference.

Akula if you're a lone wolf, if you like to go unnoticed until it's too late and if you like to hit and run (well, fly).

Hunter if you like to bring a friend, if you want to make sure your deadly presence is noticed and if you prefer shock and awe tactics.

Both are pretty good and are worthy of possesion, but unlike the Buzzard, they aren't essencial.

Both or Hunter.
With Akula if someone gets a lucky lock on you, you're toast.
Unless you fly above Stratosphere which less unlikely.
If you're a lone wolf Hunter you have both savage missiles and the better barrages to use.
If you're a lone wolf Akula you have peashooters and either savage missiles or the worse barrage to use.
Copilots on Hunter actually have a great gun to use unlike Akula

Akula dodges missiles like a boss, once you get the hang of it. I took out 2 Hunters, one double-crewed, who were using Ghost Org yesterday, and I could only see one when I attacked.

I'm 100% Team Akula here. So much fun, sooooo useful for freeroam ceo work (hides crates), needs no-lock missile option and a gun buff wuoldn't be a bad thing, but otherwise it's perfect.

Hunter is great, don't get me wrong, but STEALTH HELICOPTER.

Oh boy. Time to paste my discord sh*tpost here.

The Hunter, no second thoughts.

The Akula is a virgin. It needs to hide because it's afraid of social interaction and has never had a girlfriend.

The Hunter is a chad. Nostalgia boners and the fact it'll f*ck your girlfriend right in front of you. Or your boyfriend. It doesn't care. The Akula is probably homophobic.

Buy the Hunter.

Different roles.

The Hunter is a force, a weapon, a tool of destruction and little else. Its role is to pound your enemies into submission with superior firepower.

The Akula is, ironically, a hunter, stalking its prey, unseen, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike a crippling blow before retreating back into the shadows, waiting, watching.

The Akula is more of an utility craft. Perfect for transporting Cargo unseen. While it can hold its own in a straight up fight, it doesn't compare to the Hunter. Due to its limitations (bad main gun, bad secondary gun, either only lock-on or dumbfire missiles) it lacks versatility, an Akula caught unprepared is a dead Akula. The Hunter on the other hand can handle almost all situations. You will see it coming, it knows this and will make damn sure you don't forget it.

This isn't even remotely true, unless the pilot is bad.

...which makes a lot of sense if they're getting seen in an Akula.

But still, very misleading. You make it sound like it will blow up in 1 rocket which is blatantly false.

My biggest concern about dying in an Akula is getting wrapped around a tree as I hover 2 inches from the ground and try to have mechanic intercourse with my enemy's car.

How do you get the idea a Hunter is faster than a jet? are you talking about a low altitude jet or something?

I don't enter combat too often but I bought the Akula the other day and couldn't be happier. It's fast, looks fantastic, can take a hit or two, and wow the off radar sneak is too much fun.

The Hunter is an attack helicopter. If you're going to be doing a lot of sustained fights and attacking, the Hunter is by far the best vehicle.

The Akula is a stealth helicopter. If you want to fly in, get a kill, and then fly away, get this.

Both have different uses. In a one on one fight, the Hunter will win 99% of the time. The Akula will need to get lucky to kill it in any way other than a sneak attack.

I would've loved Akula if it had retractable rocket pods just like Comanche.
The added wings ruin this heli's sleek design :/
