Welcome to the 40th week of Rockstar Central! This week, we have car releases, "free" car giveaway woes, adversary modes, bonuses, and retailer release date craziness for RDR2! Don't forget to check out the new Snaps of the Week section too!
Last week, there was the promise of a brand new free Albany Hermes on Christmas Day, because who doesn't love a free car to drift in the rare Los Santos snow (trust me, the Hermes is a beeatch to handle!)... Players flocked in to the world of GTA Online to get their free car delivered to their properties on the 25th, except that some of those players got pretty much screwed by the dealership and had to pay a whole 535k as soon as they signed the form to get the car at Southern San Andreas Super Autos!
Rockstar made a bit of an oopsie in the PC version of GTA V, and everyone who got their "free" Hermes, instantly got charged the car's original price after Christmas. Internet-wide reactions, even on Christmas day, prompted a quick reaction from Rockstar, who wrote a support article promising refunds for those affected. Surely enough, those refunds happened, and they also happened for those who did not purchase the vehicle and so were not affected by the bug! Good job, R*!
R* refunding my hard earned money (*cough* grinding *cough*)
After Christmas Day, however, the snow has inexplicably disappeared... Weazel News meteorologists say it was likely the presence of Avon Hertz' technology under Chiliad that caused its dissipation, others say the weather got warmer, it rained and melted the snow... But at least, this makes things much easier for this week's new vehicle: the Överflöd Autarch.
Not a hypercar, not a sports prototype or a concept car, it's something else, or so say Överflöd. This new supercar is now available at Legendary Motorsport, and is crafted with speed in mind and environment as an afterthought (maybe it was Överflöd who made the snow disappear...).
An all-new Adversary Mode is also available now. Slashers, the original classic Adversary Mode Slasher, but with a twist. A predictable twist... And another unpredictable one. That extra S in the name may keep you thinking for a bit, at least if you're as aware of the world as your GTA Online character, but think no more - there is now a team of Slashers! And a team of Hunted, as regular. The unpredictable twist? Every minute the team roles are reversed until one of the groups has been wiped out completely! This mode is offering Double GTA$ and RP until the 8th of January.
2017 is now coming to a close. Those were some quick 50 or so weeks, several DLC's released, a lot of outrage and happiness with each one. This year we had Cunning Stunts' expansion with Special Vehicle Circuit; Gunrunning, one of the most hyped updates to date, only to be criticised for some of its things; Smuggler's Run and finally this month's Doomsday Heist.
The year isn't over yet however, so be on the look out for some new unlocks within the next few days to help ring in the New Year, and the return of the snow, apparently... But can we really trust Weazel News' meteorologists? I mean, there's no snow yet!
In other Doomsday Heist news, looks like Lester hasn't resisted in sharing his
fetishes art out to the world, so everyone could be exactly like him! Rockstar has released a brand new wallpaper of Lester's desktop wallpaper (you heard that right, inception) in the Doomsday Heist planning room! With and without desktop icons (weirdo, why would you want Princess Robot Bubblegum pirated episodes on your desktop?), and available in 4K!
You may be entering a panic now by seeing this logo, but unfortunately, Rockstar are leaving us hanging as much people will be hanging from ropes in RDR2. However, the tale of the retailer store dates has just entered another chapter! The store that previously leaked GTA V's next gen release date has now listed a date for RDR2 as well, putting it at June 8 2018, which is not only Spring, but also a very plausible release date for Europe as it is a Friday - they may not be aiming for a worldwide release this time. The reason why this is more relevant? According to some of our detectives in the RDR2 forums and even around the Internet, apparently this store has leaked more release dates for other games, so it's definitely something to look out for!
If you're hungry for more news as we all are, be sure to check out the forums!

In Snaps of the Week, we show off 5 of the best screenshots, in no specific order, from this week's submissions all over the forums. This can include other games, other than GTA V, but admittedly there has been a shortage of pictures from other games. Enjoy and props to all the talented photographers and their characters!
