Hey, so, I'm looking to buy a laptop in the near future that'll be able to run most (not all) games on regular settings. I'm on a budget, however, so the most I'd be willing to spend is about $500-600. I'm bad when it comes to laptops and PCs so I don't really know what's best.

These two things are incompatible. You might, might get something second hand that can play some modem games on low settings at 30fps.

As sivis said, second hand is your only bet. You simply won't find a gaming laptop for $600, at least not one that can play any games from post-2010 with any decent performance.

Hmm, that makes sense. Then what kind of games would I even be able to play on a $600 laptop?

Edit: I'm pretty bad at quoting lmao

For $600 your only real option is a PC build.

joking: you can try to get something that comes with a geforce 940MX, it will run GTA at 1080p with normal graphics with no anti aliasings and still get 40'ish frames per second

Would the older GTAs like San Andreas and Vice City play smoothly at least?

You should be able to play those fine on a laptop. I never have problems with them.

Pretty sure i saw San Andreas on a "games that will run on any PC" list. San Andreas has been on smart phones for years now youd probably struggle to find a laptop that cant play it.

Yeah to be honest I would laugh if you did. Would have to be some dodgy-ass bootleg chinese "Sorny" or "Hewlitt Pockard." Haha

Build a gaming pc like me. My budget is 550$ same range as you.
Besides,Laptop is not suitable for gaming it damages your battery life and heats it up.
For good gaming laptop budget should be atleast 1000$
