beat it on the first try
even used my Raiden as the getaway vehicle

though it was set on normal and once I exited the foundry I got insta killed so..

This, Rescue Agent 14 (f*ckIN INVISIBLE JUGGERNAUTS!!), Server Farm and the first setup of Act 3 with the Jet can all f*ck off.

It was sh*t.

 

Tried to play it "properly" by being all tactical. Lost my patience on my 10th retry and walked in with a mini gun. Died late enough to trigger checkpoint and respawn outside near escape vehicle with ULP. Whatever I'll take it.

I was able to beat this with one other person, by bringing my Technical Pickup Custom and letting them use the gun while I went inside through the door on the far side of the foundry. I also made an epic rescue by using a single blast from my Assault Shotgun to kill the guy holding ULP hostage. After that, it was much easier to get outside again, and there were very few enemies left outside by the time we got there.

 

Then there was an almost leisurely drive in the Insurgent PIckup vs Nightsharks and some Buzzard Attack Helicopters. A few times the Russians in Nightsharks ahead of us would bail from their vehicles and I would swerve to run them over.

Tip: Lookout don't HAVE to climb the tower.

Just bring an Insurgent Custom (because the Buzzards do shoot missiles rarely) with medium armor (gunner gets frontal protection and driver can still shoot) and you're set for a relatively easy defense in front of the foundry door.

1st go of this mission I failed over 7x with a partner on the ground. Came back, had one of my friends join. It was just me and him. He had the roof I had the ground and we completed it the 1st try. It's difficult but take your time and use cover.

I did this with a random, but he had a mic so it wasn't too bad. We failed a good bit early on, but we found out it's better for the sniper/lookout to just go to the spot but then run down and go to the door.

He camps in the office and lets the enemies come in and picks them off easy and in close quarters.

Meanwhile I also found that it's tactically easier to start attacking from the other door on the other side of the building instead of the one it prompts you to go into. So go to the marker, and then run around the other side.

That's my best suggestions. And when you get to the very top, don't take your time because they'll kill him up there and you'll have to start over again. It's a hostage situation kind of thing where you have to shoot him before he shots the ULP dude.

I didn't have much trouble with it, I passed it as a host with a single random. I was the ground team & s\he was the look out. We died a couple of times, but it was a smooth sail once we found a rhythm.

The mission I struggled with the most was the Signal Intercepts ... f*cking randumbs.

And there is me, who blocked one door to the building with a car and protected the other while in a kuruma...

I have to do Rescue ULP again as a Lookout to get the Props, I'm definitely using this strategy... But I'll use a DOD instead.

I don't know why people calling this heist hard.

I've never been in assault team here, just lookout. On the first run i was in my friend's Weaponized Tampa. Yes, it was challenging, but not impossible.
The second run i actually tried to follow game's waypoint and climb that water tower. On the top floor you don't have to do anything but cover the enterance. You just pull out your sniper rifle, choose your angle, peak a few pixels so you'll have a clear shot and do your job. The annoying thing is Buzzard and enemies climbing a ladder. Nothing more.

ULP's new voice is annoying tho.

It's not hard, but can be tricky. I've played it quite a bit since release just going back and forth from act 2 and 3.

The best method I've found for this is to bring an insurgent custom and reverse it outside the checkpoint entrance.

I like to enter from that entrance, but take my time getting in. When you first get in that room you've got 7-8 enemies all with great cover and clear shots on you.

It's too crowded in that room for two players so I prefer going in alone. If there's a third I put him on lookout, unless they want to come in, or there's a fourth player. In that case I have the other player take the entrance around the other side. Helps draw away fire, and keeping you out of each other's way.

Once inside the foundry run around the sides, try to avoid being out in the open and watch for enemies around the corner. Making sure to use snacks and armor.

This mission is very easy even with 2 players.
One goes inside does his thing.
The other parks an insurgent outside the door.
The outside guy should not go to his cp.
Instead camp behind the boxes right outside the door.
Keep snack/armor menu open and you will be fine.

To be honest, the only mission I've found to be truly difficult is the Act 3 Finale in 2. Rescue ULP doesn't seem that difficult at all in my opinion (And I haven't failed it yet).

Have you even done the Avenger and rescuing Agent 14 setups? Those are far harder.


For Avenger my best tip is to use Heavy Sniper Mk II with Thermal scope. It is far superior compared to the crappy night vision.

For A14 and the last Juggernauts,I recommend getting close to their spawns while inside the building. Then just minigun their heads. Easy.

Once we read you can have the lookout player stay in the first room in the building and not be out of his bounds the mission became a cakewalk for me and my one buddy.  He just stayed inthe entrance with a shotgun pointed at the door as I cleared the foundry and got ULP.  Walked out, got gunned down and respawned next to the Insurgent pick up to have a leisurely ride home.

 

That goddamn Avenger mission and Escort ULP missions are just cancer though.

And don't forget to keep an eye on the radar for possible enemies sneaking in behind you. It's bound to happen even if you have a good lookout.

 

And speaking of which, while it's wise to take your time, do you really want to take too much time and put pressure on the lookout?

Yep, going full Rambo is the fastest way to die ... And they never learn lol.

Yep, He survived in a couple of my SP story runs.

I don't think he was meant to die, otherwise it would've been like Rocco or Johnny K.

Done it a few times with only 2 people. I haven't found it difficult at all tbh. I don't think we have ever done it with an Insurgent, one time we brought a Kuruma. The enemies spawn in the exact same locations every time so after the first run you pretty much know what to expect. With 4 people it was a breeze. 

 

I also think the Avenger setup is more difficult, but that is just because of lack of cover at the start, and again, the enemies all spawn at the same places, so after the first run it is a lot easier.

Rescue ULP was indeed hard, but not hard that it's impossible to clear it, the first time. Once you finish it, it's literally the easiest one to do.

Fun fact: ULP stock health is 1100, 1650 on hard mode.

26 of the enemies use Assault Rifle, 18 use SMG, 22 use Pistol.

It requires 37 shots to kill him using the Rifle, 50 using the SMG, 43 using the Pistol.

Hard mode:

Rifle = 55 shots

SMG = 75 shots

Pistol = 64 shots

I can tank the whole setup if I have that amount of health with full snacks.

ULP is basically like the characters that you kill or spare in IV. after the cutscene in The Wrap Up mission, Michael can just run to the yellow marker. seeing as killing ULP is optional. theres no brief that says you have to kill him plus there should be an epic cutscene if we were instructed to kill him like the unfortunate Johnny K. wish Rocco got a nice cutscene death tho.

r* does annoy me sometimes with their continuity and esp killing off their protagonists. there was a whole debate back when VCS was released, about the protagonist Victor Vance getting killed in VC. then i think r* confirmed his death a year later or something.

and while were on the topic of ULP, its too bad Karen didnt make an appearance or get a mention in this dlc.

I don't think they were thinking that far ahead when they developed VC & the way I see it is they needed a way to connect Lance to VCS, so they picked Vic. Same with LCS ... The Toni we played with wouldn't let Salvatore's death go unavenged for, he'd shed some blood. And that would appear in III & would at the very least send some goons after Claude every time he steps foot in Portland like how Catalina sent a Cartel goon after Claude everytime he went to Shoreside Valley. They weren't thinking that far ahead.


Yea, I was disappointed that I didn't see her, but I found her signature equipment at the IAA facility ;)

Simple, and yet, the answer to the whole damn game really, lol. Especially heists. Just learn from experience, but so many just can't.
