GTA III noob here.

I saw all the time online that the mission "Payday for Ray" was so difficult, nearly impossible, synonyms. I'm just starting to play GTA III and I beat the mission on the first try.

I'd like to hear people's experience with the mission. Did anyone else find it easy?

It's easy if you have a good sense of car handling. I beat it on the first try. That was years ago and I find it easy TBH. GTA III was some the easiest car driving physics as compared to the newer games. It may have been difficult to beat when it was new, never impossible. And this must have been like a 2001 scenario.

When I played the mission for the very first time, it was a pain in the ass. Now, all this time later, it's a piece of cake.

It was annoying when I was a kid, the one phone looks like it's underground and that one threw me off course. Nowadays it's fine.

Once you get to know Staunton well and with a fast car it's not very complicated.

The first time I did the mission (also the first time I went to Staunton, who would have guessed) I completed the mission quite easily. I honestly can't understand why it's hard for some people apart from the absurd time limit.

It can be hard if you don't know the map. I finished LCS before III, so I already had an in game map in my mind and this mission was a walk in the park.

To be honest it was difficult for me too but only the first 2 tries and that was when I played the game fir the very first time. The major problem was that I didn'know the while Staunton yet and I remember how I always confused that phone in bellvile park which is above the tunnel and I always searched for it in the tunnel, haha. Unlike VC, GTA3 shows only squares on the map so it may be difficult in some cases to identify if the object is above you or below you.

Ps: the phone in liberty campus is also located on a hard to find place. Heck, even nowadays I sometimes get confused :D
