Well? So can someone give us a engine screenshot now? Is it an actual rotary or a recycled futo?

I don't really think it sounds like a rotory. But idk I guess all the ones I have heard were like, highly modified.

The engine startup has the very distinct rotary brap to me though.

Start up and idle sounds like a rotary, but under acceleration and deceleration it sound like a normal 4 banger.

Being fair, those are all tuned cars without the original exhaust system, whereas the Savestra is stock, no?

Also I find it funny how it's almost impossible to find a video of a stock rotary engine sound on YouTube.

Judging by the racing seats and turbos sticking out of the hood, I would say it's not all that stock lol.

Hey, for those curious about the engine, here it is

and here's how it looks with the turbos installed and also while overheating a little

so the pipes are unique, i guess

I know the model isn't a rotory, but you have to admit they knocked the engine bays of these new cars out of the park. That is incredibly detailed compared to vehicles in the past.

Most of these are are highly modified and have been peripheral ported (read; larger intake and exhaust holes), that's why you hear those 'braps'. The Savestra sounds like a stock rotary, which are way smoother, except it's higher pitched.

They at least got little details right like the curved runners that point the throttle bodies over the top of the engine like I see on a lot of rotary builds.

Somehow I get some Nissan Laurel 2000 SGX vibes from this... Idk why though. The parts don't really match, but the overall look... hm. (I mean apart from being obviously a Mazda :p )

She's pretty, but...a million dollars for something that won't even come close to the lap times the top-end sports classics are putting out? When they're cheaper? C'mon, now.

https://youtu.be/Ah7odg18UlU?t=8s

Thanks!

Doesn't sound like much of a rotor to me but clearly they tried... you can tell that's what they based it on not a 4 cyl.. For the goodness

Given that it takes 10 minutes with a die grinder to double the horse power of a rotary.. chances are no such thing exists as a stock one

Definitely mostly a Mazda, supposed to be a Mazda anyway :)

Can anyone remember what the Mazda was everyone used to convert to rotor back in the day? when I was a kid everyone around the neighboured had 4cyl mazdas converted to rotors, they were pretty much the same as an RX3 but you could buy them for like 300 dollars, then you'd get a 500$ imported 12A or 13B and get your die grinder out. Mazda 808? I think it was called. It was a bolt in job, they had the mounts for a rotor ready to go.

808/818, in Japan they had the 10a/12am. Everywhere else got the 4banger.

Also know as the Grand Familia, with the rotary model being known as the Savanna or the RX-3.
