I will take notice and listen.I will do the job to the best of my ability but I will not stand for anywhere near the amount of crap that cerbera has in the posts I have had the displeasure to have read.

I intend to propose a new rule soon also.I am running it past the admins as we speak.

@GTA3PCGuy (et al)- Well, the fact that Onyx doesn't care much about the opinion of others is part of the reason I brought him on. Naturally, the community's opinions are important, but in this situation we need somebody who's completely unbiased as to what's going on.

Congrats on becoming a mod Onyx. Im sure you will do a great job

A new mod is a new member. I guess if you want an unbalanced member then its good, but I don't agree with replacing MMMS with a newb. Not that what I think matters, so have fun modding Onyx and good luck.

I am here to moderate these forums as I see fit and if that causes friction the so be it.I am not here to make friends but to do a job I am very capable of.

Just introducing myself and would like to point out that Cerbera has been a great ambassador for gta gamers everywhere and the flak he gets is way unjustified

Anyways, nice to see a familiar face around here.

Can I enquire as to how you two fellas know each other?

Doesn't anyone agree with me that there are too many 'modding mods' on these forums? There is just no balance to the force. Are there no good communicators out there to choose from? -ONYX- has only been here two seconds and already he has set his childlike tone of 'I am going to change things, this is how it's going to be from now on, like it or lump it bucko'
Have any of you read 1984? Why do I get the feeling you are all art students?

If we keep bringing in mods from outside then we might as well change the name of the forums to something they like because they will try to make this forum similar to the forum that they used to frequent and gtaforums will lose it's sense of identity.

General Chat should be self-moderated, end of story. Just stick a disclaimer at the top saying that the opinions within are not those of the site owner. Freedom of speech anyone?

Well, this is a GTAForum(s.com), so it would make sense to bring in people who know about GTA, no? So how will having old GTA modders and scene members disrupt the identity of a GTAForum?  :dontgetit:

And yes, I have read 1984.

Because my friend they are of a mechanically minded bent. Into cars and gigabytes, hard drives and carburettors.
I am talking about nerds people, nerds plain and simple.
Do you not see the childishness inherint in sexually frustrated mods who cannot stop touching there buttons and ( if Cerbs pic is anything to go by) flicking their hair?

Man, I would cringe with embarassment for a long time if I was ever to come to a forum as a mod and before I had even looked around, I was telling people that it is my brand of medicine they will be drinking from now on so they better shape up. That is the mind-set of the emotionally immature.

Cerbs and co. are actually the cause of most of the stuff that is and will continue to go down here. If they treat people like kids then people will act like kids.
It is no wonder MmMs wanted to kick loose and swear a little, and since when have we not been free to make our feelings clear to people we dislike? Most of us are guys, we all swear, we like the banter, get a f*cking helmet (to quote the Hick rip-off)

It is getting so claustrophobic in here, why should anyone come to these forums just to have nomarks exercise their frustrations on them?

Humourless anal-retentives, I have no time for them.

Humility is the key. A new mod should come and ask if there is any advice the general populace might want to give them because they doughnut know it all

At least if they did that we would respect that he is trying to serve his purpose and not use us to SERVE HIS PORPOISE!

I think the old times means that they both used to be on a different forum, and both moderated it, and now they are on this forum and are both moderating it, and it sounds to me that they are going to try to change this forum so it will be more like the one they use to be on.

What I mean is what was the "old times" like? Was the board run like a dictatorship where if you said something against them you were banned? Thats what I mean. I guess I wasn't clear.

This is just an idea, but maybe in the future when you want a mod, you pick like 10-15 people that you think would make good mods, and have the members vote between those members in General Chat, and that way not as many people would complain, but thats just an idea I made up.

Edwards  applauds loudly

Oh, now this is just MARVELOUS. I'm going to pull out an analogy here. If I know some guy from another forum, but he's never been here, or been in an online gang (edit: or a real life gang), am I going to make him Right Hand Man of the Andolini Mafia Family? And I have the power to do that, but the stupidity of such a decision would be overwhelming.

Can we please stop making people mods until AFTER they've shown they're good moderators? Here's an idea: Give potential mods a single forum or group of forums to lead and moderate. Let the members + staff vote on whether or not they should be promoted.

This pisses me off. Freedom in here is being lost quite often. Not nearly as much as the US Gov is doing, but it's still happening.

ONYX, I apologize, but I don't want anyone who just pops in to become a moderator. It's a bloody powerful position, and I hate it when it goes to unexperienced people.

edit: Grammar and an added part.

I have plenty of experience my friend and I am very capable of making my own decisions and choices.

I do however feel that some of you are contracting a case of the green eyed montser and we all know how nasty that can turn out to be.

as for my quote to Cerbs, please take a trip over to my #1 rule and all will be explained.

I have spent every bloody day on these forums for a year and onx spends a coudle days on them and gets a mod position sorry for being a tad cross but I feel I come here everyday for nothing and wasting my time

everyone wants to be a mod and everyone wishes they will be one one day if they come here alot....

but it it only because hes been in the "gta scene" that hes becoming a mod these forums are alot more than gta to alot of people....I really think we need a mod who comes to these forums alot and isnt just illspirits friend from g!

but none the less congrats on your mod position -onyx- you got the easy way out unlike alot of the people here....

ps sorry for that but I feel luosy today and am prepared to kill myself....   :sui:

I don't consider you experienced. When you have spent enough time on this forum to be respected, then you will be experienced. When gang leaders all fight for your presence in their gang, then you will be experienced. When you are one of the members that everyone knows, then you will be experienced.
