This is a topic for those movies, tv shows, or documentaries which weren't very good but were still entertaining for all the wrong reasons. I think a classic example would be the cult classic The Room, it was supposed to be a serious melodrama but instead it's unintentionally hilarious.

Spoiler

Another is a documentary about aliens by none other than Danny Dyer which is pretty funny too. Kind of surreal seeing him travel to America to hunt for alien evidence. Here's the whole documentary.

Spoiler

Below is a funny clip of him talking about in on 8 out of 10 cats.

Lets try and keep out those movies which were made bad on purpose so people will watch them ironically, I'm talking about Sharknado and others like it.

The Street Fighter movie with Jean Claude Van Damme, and that 90s (I think) Mortal Kombat movie.

Any CINEMAX® movie after hours.

Recently watched 'Kiss And Kill" and "High Heel Homicide". Really, really, bad - butt really, really good. :p

Birdemic is really, really, bad but that's what makes it hilarious. The director is totally serious about the movie though and considers it a masterpiece.

I saw that on a WhatCulture video the other day for like the top 10 worst movies of the 2010s. The sh*tty CGI birds alone would be enough to get a laugh. I need to check it out.

Anyway...

The one common denominator is of course Hulk Hogan. Dude was a larger than life WWF superstar in the 80s/90s, but he couldn't act for sh*t which makes all of his movies cringe worthy, but cheesy and entertaining all the same.

Pure schlocky awesomeness.

The colorized restored version somehow adds even more cheesiness to this classic. Everyone needs to watch this film at least once.

I think what separates sh*tty meme movies like Sharknado from genuine ''so bad its good'' is how serious the creators are about it.

The Room, Birdemic, etc were all made as a legit attempt at film making rather than an attempt to cash in with something ridiculous and it shows. There is love put into an undeniably horrible product and the results are fantastic.

Troll 2, too.

While the Star Wars Revenge Of The Sith is a good movie IMO,this translated version is so bad it's hilarious. From want I've heard, first it was dubbed in Chinese, then the subtitles were badly translated back to English (instead of just using the original lines for subtitles),and here someone jokingly dubbed the movie with translated lines.

Jontron has a pretty good video about the ridiculoussness of this movie. My favorite part is probably when the birds show up and start divebombing à la Pearl Harbor and you hear actual plane noises in the background.

3 Ninja's High Noon at Mega Mountain the last of the 3 Ninja series involving a new cast I actually enjoyed the first two but the last two are def cringeworthy

All the Hi-Yas and blantly obvious punches and kick misses by miles and oh Hulk Hogan is in it so that made it even better

Batman Forever is a pretty bad movie, but I still love it. I always loved Tommy Lee Jones' over-the-top performance as Two Face. It's like he was trying to 1-up Jim Carrey's Riddler.

Very Bad Things, with Cam Diaz, Christian Slater and notably Jon Favreau this movie is generally bad but somehow it makes you cringe in a good way.

Ok I bit the bullet and finally watched Birdemic. No joke it's like they were just out somewhere with a camera and started filming random people and telling them they were on camera. I couldn't stop laughing during the Pearl Harbor-esque divebombs.

I'm pretty there's a sequel. Might be worth taking a look.;)

This scene when viewed without knowledge of the actual film feels like a genuine comedy. If slightly retooled The Happening could actually be just that - a great comedy.
