So, I just need some old version of 3DS Max (which is capable of modding 3D era games). If anyone knows where I can find an older version (2008 or maybe something; atleast the minimum required for modding), please help me.

Uh, I dunno what you may think, but I don't wanna pay for the software (which explains why I am asking for an older version).

I tried using blender, but it doesn't have terrain editing features (basically IPL plugins aren't available for Blender).

Btw, if there are any other (free) alternatives to 3DS Max, please go on and tell.

Any help appreciated ;)

For me, the best version for modding is 2012, since its got some modern stuff while still being compatible with older plugins. But, heres the thing. I dont think that Autodesk sells older versions of 3DS Max.

Now that we got that covered, if you want to get a pirated version, definately DONT search here. Piracy is against this forums rules.

Hey, try GMax. It's almost like 3DS Max and it can run Kam's scripts fine (atleast they worked for me...)
