I transferred a lot of my files over when I reset my computer a month back, GTA5 was one of these files. When I try to run the .exe it installs a patch (the same patch every time I open it) and then goes on to say "Sorry, GTA5 isn't installed on this system. Please reinstall game and try again.". However, when I click to see the folder size of Program Files/Grand Theft Auto V it is 71GB, which is roughly the size of the game. I'm guessing means that the game is installed on my computer, but the program cant detect it for whatever reason. Any fix I can try for this?

game isnt written into programs list and registry, if you have physical copy take your DVD #1 and set it to "install" in the location you moved your game folder to. It will be quick and only ask you to insert 2 other dvd's for quick file check.

But if you bought it via steam then you just verify the file integrity and steam client should write necessary entries to system.
