Welcome to the 24th week of a forum game called the Weekly Vehicle Showdown. In this game, vehicles face off against each other in a forum poll. At the end of the week, the winner is crowned. The reign is short lived however, the following week, a random vehicle will be selected
to face off against the current champion. We will keep going until we cover every vehicle in GTA V and GTA Online, and have one overall champion. In the thread feel free to
discuss the positives and negatives of each vehicle, your opinions, facts, videos, pictures, whatever you like to strengthen your argument for why the vehicle you are voting
for deserves to win, and the other does not.

Rules:
If you post mulitiple photos or videos of any vehicle, use spoiler tags.
Do not go off topic. Discuss only the vehicles being voted on.
Be respectful of other peoples opinions.
Do not cheat; creating multiple accounts to vote, etc.
Do not vote based on the photos in the OP.
This is not a Snapmatic competition.

Have fun!

Annis Elegy Retro Custom

The Reigning Champion

A legend rises from the ashes of a time

gone past. Long ago one import ruled the streets

and it has returned to redeem it's crown. One of the

most loved cars of yesteryear exploded back onto the

scene and became an instant favorite but can it be

the favorite this week?

VS

Imponte Nightshade

c82m435.jpg?1

Big flares, big stripes, big engines, all trademarks of the

1970s performance car. Unfortunately actual performance was

not a trademark of the Nightshade. Can smooth lines and even

smoother exhaust tones capture the hearts of voters?

May the best vehicle win.

I feel awful for helping to continue the reign of the Elegy but the Nightshade is just...not quite good enough. The forced fender flares and by-default restomod look just aren't for me. I know it's based off a specific custom built Camaro but it'd have been better if they saved that look for a Benny's Custom rather than offering no stock variant.

Yep - it's like the Gauntlet all over again, but with the added minus point of not being able to have it stock.

That, and I'm much more a fan of the 1st-gen Camaro - Vigero vs. Elegy Retro would be a much tougher choice for me.

Yeah, I'm siding with the Elegy again for the reasons above. I love the pre-facelift 2nd gen Camaro and I think the Nightshade had the potential to blow the Phoenix out of the water, but I really don't like the direction they took it in. In addition to the complaints above, the enormous fenders also lead to wheels that feel way too big even by restomod standards, and maybe it's just me but the wheelbase feels way too short compared to its real life equivalent. Honestly, the Nightshade doesn't even feel like it was designed by the same people that designed all of the other vehicles in GTA V; when that update first leaked, it was a big contributor to my skepticism because it looked like something ported from another game or created by a modder. Whenever I look at it, all I think of are the old stylized Hotwheels cars that were based on real vehicles but with exaggerated proportions.

I know it has a dedicated fan base and I mean no disrespect to them, but the Nightshade is probably my biggest disappointment for a GTA V vehicle to date.

It's all random. I don't choose them. Looks pretty close this week though.

One curious thing about this particular face-off, regardless of opinions of the cars themselves: the Elegy Retro Custom is pretty much the only proper '90s tuner added to the game, and likewise, the Nightshade is the only muscle car that wasn't already in the game/ported over from IV/not an actual muscle car/a variant on an existing car.

Whichever one wins, they're both valiantly flying the flag for two badly-overlooked niches of car culture - if R* had any sense at all, they'd have given them both some company ages ago... :sigh:

Elegy's gonna win every week imo. I'd pick it over 99% of the stuff we have. Two exeptions I'd make are the Buzzard and the Hunter.
