In the end of the mission Drive-Thru Big Smoke says :

,,If you can eat your food, while everybody else is losing theirs and blame on you, you straight homie''

I really can't see the wisdom behind these wise words of Lord Smoke.

It's a poor attempt at being thoughtful and introspective. He's basically saying if you can have what you want whilst others are failing and seem to assume it's your fault, you're doing something right. Unfortunately, this falls apart when you realise he's literally talking about eating other people's food.

He has a habit of doing that.

I kind of always thought it was Big Smoke punning the poem If by Rudyard Kipling to be honest.

But knowing BS, it was actually about food.  :lol:

It seems to me that Smoke was shamelessly avoiding to shoot at Ballas.

OR

I guess Smoke simply wanted to enjoy his delicious meal when everyone was busy shooting at ballas, and not able to eat and enjoy their food.

Smoke preferred to enjoy eating, since he might have thought that they are going to blame him either way for his poor shooting skills, so why lose food???

He tried to present it in some sort of a poetry.

"I'm a fat motherf*cker so I'm gonna eat up all yo food homie and you ain't gonna say a Goddamn thang! Oh by the way I'm Heterosexual"

Its deeper than that homies, Big Smoke was a real philosopher!

If you can keep your head when all about you;
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too.
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster,
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make a heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And—which is more—you'll be a Man, my son!

Come on bro, it was well-known early in the game that Big Smoke talked a lot of sh*t, despite his laughable attempts to sound smart and give out wise words. CJ has digs at him for this several times.
