I think you might of made a mistake making it poll only so I fixed that to allow for replies.. ;)

Anyway it should come as no surprise that I'd choose GTA IV.

RDR's a great game and all, but it doesn't have the replay-ability that GTA IV does IMO. The story's a tad overrated too and Jack annoys me to play at the end.

From time to time I sit down and try to rate and compare the games I played and RDR is usually the only games that I treasure more than GTAIV... When it comes to replay value, though, nothing beats GTA San Andreas for me, I would rate it (slightly) less than GTAIV, but I've played it twice as much.

I much prefer GTA IV gameplaywise, driving is just more fun than horseriding, however, when I first played RDR it made GTA IV feel really dated and sluggish, in terms of movement and especially shooting. Where RDR also beats out GTA IV is in the side objectives category. Big points for having no collectables except for the very fun treasure hunts.

Storywise I prefer RDR, simply for it's more unique plot. The redemption over revenge-angle was really fresh to me.

Overall I like GTA IV just abit more, repetative as it is, it has more mission variation than RDR. When you boil it down RDR reuses the 5-6 same missions over and over.

GTA IV. RDR was very nice, but I'm into modern day vibes. Besides, it took place in my city and I'd take a car over a horse any day.

GTA IV for me but I understand who voted RDR though, it's one of the greatest games ever made. RDR captures the Wild West perfectly and it makes you feel like you're living the end of an era, you can see things changing, things dying and people stuck in the past, not understanding what is happening. I chose IV because I love the atmosphere, the characters and the story, I guess it's the only game that shows the decay of the italian-american mafia as we know. Besides, GTA IV sends you a strong message: if you get into a life of crime, you'll lose more than you'll win, there's no happy ending.

RDR's story hit me more and it has better Euphoria physics, so I'll have to give it the edge. But both games were pretty much my favortites of last gen, around 2010-2012 I sunk so many hours into them and the DLC's. Just thinking about it is making me nostalgic about the times Rockstar actually made SP DLC. :(

RDR is the superior game, simply because it expanded upon every aspect that made GTA IV great. The problem with V is, it ignored almost every aspect that made RDR great. One step foward and two steps back.

Altough I prefer the story and characters from GTA 4, I never really liked the story in RDR or John; I love the world and atmosphere tho.

But really, the two games are amazing to me, I don't like one more than the other.

Difficult choice... but IV.

I prefer driving around more than galloping on horseback.... I actually didn't know you could just fast travel via campsite until recently. I thought carriages were the only way :p

I just love modern things like guns, cars, helicopters, and the good old RPG!

Bonus points for Niko not dying and being replaced..... though I actually wouldn't mind playing as Roman Bellic.
