This is seriously annoying. Every few times I start up the game it'll insist I calibrate my display and every time I do that I have to go back into the settings and manually change a bunch of them because it resets all of my settings to default. It doesn't happen consistently, and sometimes I can close the application and restart it and not have to calibrate, but other times it won't go to the loading screen until I do no matter how many times I restart it. Why does this keep happening and is there any way to avoid it?

Try removing these files:
- Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\settings.xml
- Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles\????????\cfg.dat
- Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles\????????\pc_settings.bin
- Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles\????????\control\user.xml

My bad, I shouldn't have assumed. I'm not sure how to help you then.
