You haven't lost interest, the game industry sold out.

Haven't been interested in it since 2014 at least. It was kind of fun back then but the grinding got boring quick. It only got worse as more content was added.

The game was the platform that enabled you and your friends to have fun. It's daft to suggest you were having fun only because of your friends and in spite of the game. If you don't like playing lone wolf, fair enough, but that's a separate point.

You don't know anything about me. Everyone is different. Like it or not I was only having fun because of my friends. GTAO isn't a fun game. I had played every heist over 10 times start to finish before I reached level 100, in the first month or two. Now I have over 3300 hours logged in GTAO. None of the content released in the last year is fun. A lot of decent things were added to the game, but VIP/CEO/MC/Bunker/Hangar are all boring and a waste of time. There is nothing fun about them. I started playing GTAO in April of 2015 the content of the game was boring before the end of the year. The friends I had were fun to play with, and GTAO was the only game we all played.

Maybe you find it fun to grief players because the game allows it, and R* encourages it trying to sell more shark cards. Not everyone does.
Maybe you like being insulted, harassed, and more but I don't.

Maybe you like being called demeaning things for no reason, having people demand you do things you wouldn't do, and treated like an object all because GTA changed your chat setting to everyone for some reason and you had the nerve to say hi to a friend. I don't.

The topic of the thread is asking if we lost interest in GTAO. If you feel you need to continue to berate me because my opinion of GTAO is different from yours PM me. Otherwise drop it. This is already off topic.

You stated that GTAO is not fun as a matter of fact. That is plainly wrong as many, many people do find it fun. Trying to belittle their reasons for doing so, doesn't change that.

I think I've finally hit that point.  Been playing since online launched, and have had a blast with it, but it's time to move on.  Will definitely pick up RDR2 for a change of pace, and maybe by the time the next GTA comes out, I'll be ready to do it all over again.  Maybe.

For all the gushing about single player games in the recent interview, I hope the story mode in 6 has more staying power than 5 did.  I enjoyed it, but never getting any dlc was pretty disappointing.

For me it's as interesting as ever mostly because of the social component, always new people to meet and they keep adding content so there are still new things to try which is amazing

Just listening on the mic while muted.  Picking out a target.  Then Oppressing them into oblivion.

Yup. If you don't fit into the 'buy this overpriced bling' or 'blow this up' crowd, not much left for you. Then there is the repetitive grinding. You are right, the game has become worse as they've added more crap - which mostly caters to the 'buy' and 'blow up' crowd.

Even socially it sucks because its the same sh*t over and over.  The fun disappeared with the loss of any attempt at depth.

My biggest gripe right now is the focus on pushing more content out there than fixing the problems the game has right now. Clothing restrictions, the mechanic's cooldown timer, cheating AI, unknown network errors, errors joining sessions, suicide spamming with no penalty, insurance on weaponized vehicles, impossible sell missions, bugged contact missions that fail after completing the objectives, abuse of vote-kicking- just to name a few.

I haven't lost interest, but after Gunrunning, I knew my love for the game was fading away. I don't play as much as I did back then, and that excitement when a new trailer is released is gone because we know it's just gonna be "buy this expensive property, go to a laptop, steal this item, fight through overpowered AI, and bring it back to said expensive property while dodging players with new toys and more overpowered AI to halt your success." Not to mention always having to fork up cash to keep the business rolling (over 18K for crates, 20K to export a car, 9K to pay bunker staff every in game day, Ron's cut, etc).

I miss the old GTA Online sometimes. Contact missions were a reliable source of income, cars were decently priced, clothes weren't 100K a piece, everything was purchasable from the start, Rhinos and Lazers were the biggest griefer's tool out there, and your phone wasn't spammed with invites everytime a new adversary mode was released.

Back to landscape painting, I guess.

I really can't seem to get into anything the game has to offer. The start-up costs for the recent updates and the potential grind outweighs any initial desire to do anything. All of the races and modes that are introduced have the lasting appeal of 15 minutes before they become boring. I don't participate in much PvP, and R* has ceased giving all manner of f*ck about PvE. So yeah, my interest in the game has waned a bit.

I lost interest in Free mode but I still like contact missions and the occasional race.

Lol, guys. It's just a multiplayer add-on to Grand Theft Auto V. There won't be anything 'new' or 'refreshing'. New map? Hahah! Wishful thinking.

What's really speaking volumes (at least, from where I'm sitting) is the amount of interest in the rumoured sequel to I'm Not A Hipster. Seems like the mere idea of varied vehicles, maybe some better character customisation options, maybe a Freemode business that isn't some hyper-expensive pseudo-military thing with paywalls galore, really resonates with people.

...it really doesn't take much, does it? But then, listening to various similar conversations in the wider community, people still look back fondly on things like INAH, Ill-Gotten Gains, and other updates where the content covered a mix of stuff, the prices were affordable, and ...heck, didn't even need much new in the way of substantial gameplay changes.

It's almost like if you give players an interesting mix of toys in a sandbox game, they can just make their own fun - meanwhile, you can put in mammoth updates with Revolutionary New Ways To Play The Game!™, but if that's just the same thing over and over again, and only appeals to the same specific segment of players, it doesn't matter if it's just diminishing returns by design.

I really hope this Hipster sequel happens, R* doesn't drop the ball with it, and maybe it represents a new phase away from just zeroing in on what Import/Export started (or FAFF, depending on where you start counting) and Gunrunning/Smuggler's Run drove into the ground... :turn:

I'm struggling. Every time I get on, I just sit there, wondering what business to do or what job to do, and I don't do anything. I might do a race, then nothing, then turn off the game and watch a movie.

Something finally feels different for me, like every new update is somehow derivative.

My interest has hit a low. All I can think about is RDR2.

So are you finally losing interest? Or what?

Starting to experience the same. The ultra slow dripfeeding is becoming an annoyance. My gut tells me it's time to move on, but the only real alternative will be RDR 2.

Well for me its gotten to the point where I get on getting all excited going "yeah im gonna do this and that!" and then when I finally get on, I immediately lose interest and quit the game. This dripfeed too like a what a piece of sh*t.

I was a daily player from day 1. Gunnrunning really put a sour taste in my mouth and, since it dropped my play time and enjoyment have also dropped, drastically and continuously to the point where i was only going on to attend crew meets. At this point i haven't even done that in two or three weeks. I just have no interest i it anymore. I hope a break will allow me to enjoy one of my favorite games again, but tbh i have not thought about it once since gran turismo came out and with nfs coming (if is is actually good) i don't know when i will be back in L.S.

Must agree, at least in my opinion too... No map expansion as the game currently is, maybe North Yankton as it is in the game files, but no Liberty City, Vice City or new I feel...

I mean, all I'd do is drive around in passive, maybe try new races on a new map, and quickly move on as it is still the same carnage/enforcement of playstyles so my interest would almost certainly be limited. I just don't think it's financially a good idea to create new maps for this game, not when you consider how much this game made upon initial release in 2013... As many will know, this game made $1bn in it's first day or week (can't remember), building a new game may cost a couple of hundred million, but if it could make them anywhere near the initial cash this game made, well, only a foolish company IMO would say 'no thanks' to that, lol...

Them maps are worth big money to R*/T2, much more than they get currently through shark card sales I feel. If Liberty City/Vice City got a massive upgrade, like what San Andreas did here from GTA:SA to GTA V, that sh*t will sell, and should offer PvE players at the very least another story/adventure before they push the PvP stuff online...

I'm just tired of the mod menu players thinking they're gods gift then kick you from the session because you aren't taking it in the ass from them like most people would while expecting free money.

My PSN (Black-_-Hole1885) got banned for a stupid mistake I did. Basically my friend/relative decided to link my account to a CFW PS3...more stuff happened but yeah, I was f'ed after couple weeks later despite us not touching it.

Lost almost all of my friends, trophies, progress and video game purchases including GTA V digital version for my ps4.
I wish if R* still allows moving progress from PS3 to ps4, then i could at least use my PS3 old account.
