I don't think there is any other such topic, so I decided to make this.It also makes sense since both games are almost using the same exact engine and have many other things in common, except for the setting and atmosphere.

Which game do you think was better overall, Vice City or Liberty City Stories, and why?

Oh man, Vice City for sure. The soundtrack for one thing. Tommy Vercetti is also one of the GOAT GTA protagonists.

Vice City. Better soundtrack, cooler protagonist, an antagonist that isn't very poorly developed, and blood splatters on the screen when you use a chainsaw. :]

Wouldn't it make more sense to compare LCS with VCS? Anyway Vice City without question. LCS wasn't very memorable apart from being the first GTA on PSP. Toni was kinda a little bitch too.

There are plenty of LCS vs VCS topics already.
And as I said, it makes a lot of sense to compare VC and LCS, because of the amount of similarities these two games share.

LCS for me.

Like even though VC had great music and atmosphere, the map is a real gamebreaker for me. A lot of it was just wasted space with a beach and airport just there doing nothing. And even then, LCS had pretty much most, if not all of the same features & minigames VC had so I'm not missing much other than the soundtrack + 80s neon. But even then, 80s neon would look weird in a gritty northeastern city in the 1990s.

The theme song for LCS is probably the best GTA Theme.

But VC is the better game I think.

beaches have dirtbike track and rc  track with a couple of rampages here and there and hidden packages. airport has rampages hidden packages and an assassination mission takes place there also. there you go.

I prefer VC,for the same reasons others have already mentioned (better soundtrack, cooler protagonist, 80s Miami atmosphere...).Also,since it was the second GTA game I played, and the first 3D GTA I played,I'm more nostalgic for it.

I dunno man, I'd rather do things in a city than a spot that's nothing but sand in every direction I look.

LCS all the way. VCS is boring and has a sh*t soundtrack. I prefer the original Vice City much more.

Edit: Oh I tought it was LCS vs VCS. Well what the f*ck is this topic then? Comparing LCS to Vice City is like comparing an old woman with a sexy cute korean girl in her 20's. Vice City all the way, but VCS is sh*t tough.

LCS for me. First GTA I ever played. Less buggy than VCS, at least on PSP.

Underrated soundtrack too.

If the games use the same engine, physics, sounds, anims, then it is not dumb comparing them.Even if people are willing to compare London with GTA 5, where's the problem?

VC for sure.

I didn't like both LCS and III. The story is silly, and forgettable, while gameplay is utterly boring.

LCS' Liberty City is much better than III' Liberty City; Fort Staunton was one of my favorite GTA places. But Vice City is better, no doubts. Atmosphere, characters, story... You can't compare them to LSC ones.

lcs used a modified version of renderware combined with Image Metrics. they might share assets but it's still a different kettle of fish but either way VC is far superior. LCS was enjoyable on the PSP but comparing lets say the PS2 version of LCS to PS2 VC the latter is much more enjoyable :p
