Well, my aunt lives in Naples and while she managed to drive all the way up to Georgia, her house (which is just a old trailer with an unsealed plastic-framed room attached to it) is all but guaranteed to be leveled. She only brought a small suitcase of stuff, so pretty much all of her belongings and house will be gone.

Meanwhile, her friends in Florida are staying, which is practically a death sentence considering the eyewall will be going right by their house. I'd be surprised if they live through it.

Good luck to anyone who lives in Florida, especially people who decided to stay. You'll need it.

I would like to wish all of my Floridians to be safe today and tomorrow during the Hurricane. I have plenty of water bottles, dry food, food in general and sad bags surrounding the house plus boarded up windows.

The Hurricane made landfall an hour or so ago in the southwest and I'm already feeling it in Daytona. Very dark grey skies, like 5 minutes of downpours and 5 minutes of not-so-bad rain, and the river down the street from me is rising over the docks.

What's it like where you live, anyone else here who's unlucky to live here in Daytona?

They should call a Hurricane one of those ridiculous names that parents name their kids so people stop using those names.

That hurricane was a rough one. All damage combined with clean up costs? Woof. About 20 deaths. Heard some guy in FL even got killef by a chainsaw!
