Toning down weaponry in GTA NXT

Honestly, I want the next GTA to have a variety of weapons similar to the well-balanced variety in VC: weapons that aren't too over-the-top but will get the job done right.

Ok, I'll admit I don't need to carry every weapon in my pants like GTA V, but excessively limiting the gun carrying to something realistic and therefore boring would ruin a huge part of the game, that being the random police chases. I want to carry something with which I can blow stuff up, and I don't want to have to carry it in a car trunk or else not have it at all. That's not fun. And if GTA's getting more realistic and moving beyond fun like some people are saying, how come the 5th game had a cannibal canadian who hallucinates clowns when he smokes weed?

I'm happy to see that we're finally finding a middle ground in this topic

That said, R* would/should never tone down the overall number of weaponry you are able to carry for the sake of realism. That works in linear shooters, not series where the opposite has been stablished for decades.
EDIT: They need more street level guns in the next gta, but i take the excessive weapon variety in V over the bare bones selection in IV.

Why does it have to be black or white, meaning that you can only carry 3 of them or all of them? I think this can be an option like the hardcore mode in Fallout New Vegas. If a player wants to carry a very limited number of weapons and a very limited amount of ammo, they can tick a box in the settings menu. But more importantly, there has to be an option to drop a weapon. As someone in this topic said earlier, I want to plan my inventory before I start a mission.

I don't like how you can carry literally EVERY weapon/throwable/melee.
In most previous GTAs you had to settle on one pistol, one smg, one shotgun, one AR and so on.

I would love a more realistic way of carrying weapons as it encourages a more tactical way of playing the game - but at the same time rampages aren't quite the same without a giant arsenal of f*ck-off weapons.
