I never picked up GTA 3 when I was younger, when it came out I was like 3 or 4 so obv my parents wouldn't get it for me. Anyways, I completed it last night after a year of it sitting on my PS4 waiting to be downloaded, and holy hell what a hard game. It's probably way easier on PC, but on console it really gave me a challenge. I didn't use any cheats or glitches, just played legit. It took me about 3 or 4 days from a brand new save, and the hardest mission I had to do was between A Drop in the Ocean, Espresso-2-GO (had to use youtube to find all the locations cus I thought it was only on Staunton), and the final mission. After almost breaking my controller during the last mission, the moment I finally blew Catalina's ass out the sky with that final rocket gave me a sense of closure that I completed one of the best GTA games to date.

But yeah, it was a pretty good game. The only thing I really hated about the game was how the camera is and how insanely easy it is to flip over cars.

Oh, and the gang members that brutally dismember you in 2 seconds.

Still working on 100%ing it before I go to Vice City and complete that for the first time :panic:

LOL.

Congratulations, you've played the best version out there, the PS2 version.  :^:

Nothing values the pleasure of the PC version with the mods and trainers.

Congratulations!

So easy in that way, PS2 is more challenging.

congrats, i have never passed the first set of stauntin mission, i feel thats because my general dislike of liberty city and yeah, basically you being unable to explore certain areas because people will just blow your ass with a shotgun, though i really like the dark atmosphere of gta 3, the misteries, the ability to blow off limbs, etc

The Exchange would have been easier if you had collected unique packages earlier, you'd just go to the SSV safehouses and collect guns.

So convenient that way. On console you must suffer the way Rockstar made the game but on PC you're free to change the things you dislike so you have the maximum playing pleasure.

And so much the worse for the difficult challenges. There are times you feel proud after completing a hard challenge and other times when it just makes you mad and leaves the memories of a nightmare afterwards.

Ahh I aint even think about that. I had about 40 collected, but those M16s the cartel carried ripped me to shreds more times then I can count

Well, Welcome to the game I guess.

(Since I'm like a nostalgic gta 3 fanboy, I've approximately completed the game over 10 times, including side missions and collecting pickups etc...)

I hope you're not too disappointed by the fact you don't get any reward for the 100% completion.

Say goodbye to the Saint Mark's District. You're never going in there again.

You can come back there as many times as you want without they assault you or use shotguns with mini-commander.

Totally agree if you'll play it on PC, use mods and make the things even more easy but he played it on a PS2. Modding is almost nonexistent there.

I actually made a script mod a while back while allows you to bail from cars. No vice city like animations though.

Especially if you could do it like in Total overdose.
