You never said what graphics card it has in it, that has a lot to do with how it will run.

Your memory and cpu are fine,

You didn't mention any GPU. Does it use integrated graphics?

Please note: If OP is in NZ (according to his profile), assuming 800 was NZ$800... that's a subUS$500 machine.

It is extremely unlikely to have sufficient GPU power to run GTAV at anything higher than minimum.

Probably something like this

Exactly why you can only do lowest settings Intel HD graphics arent man enough to run it properly.

You will probably find GTA4 would struggle with it too, maybe more so.

sorry to break it to you, but intel HD is just the CPU and not a dedicated GPU (what games need)

  • MINIMUM System Requirements:
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)

.. and i think it's ass...

You think correctly.

You just meet CPU, RAM is good, but Graphics is a fail.

There's a reason you can't get "gaming" laptops under NZ$1,000.

Some "media" laptops have semi-decent dedicated GPUs that would have allowed medium settings but Intel Integrated chipsets just do not work - despite what Intel marketing would want you to believe.
