In school I have been taking a Graphic Arts Class, so I wanted to try it out in SA

I have made amazing progress so far, as I have gotten through half of the weapons.

 

I made half of the weapons a few sizes too big (Almost 1024 x 1024, sorry i'm an idiot D:)

(I might even throw in a few remastered screens, and might even make a III themed wallpaper!)

 

 

Here are the weapons I have so far:

I think it's away from feeling of original icons. Those are not bad, but look really weird. Especially curves. Here, i done in a few seconds (believe or not) with my special tool and private technique :) They are not perfect, need to be cleaned but still.

Well it definitely looks nice, but I used the pen tool for the outlines and just filled it in with sub paths, even though, they might not look good, it's still just something for fun, as I did it for class.
In fact im going to re do the chainsaw and redo the ak47

Haven't made anything in a while, changed the 1024x1024 textures to 256x256

The effect is almost like you're using vector magic or flash... its too rounded where it shouldn't be. Try to find the slick style SA has and recreate it, rather than scare the icon up and trace it.

What's the point of remaking them in 256x256? I mean, we already have mobile icons, which are the same resolution.

Idk, cuz why not lol, there's no rule for these, and anyways they're just for fun not really a serious project.

Well, if you would take that advice in general then what would be the point of a retexture in the same resolution? The answer to that would be: a different experience with the same quality.
