So I've decided to start my workshop here, since I've already did some mods for GTA IV and V:

We all know how buggy and pricey Zmodeler is, so it's hard to keep working in a mod without distracting or dumping it. Even worse, the addition of newer LODs in GTA V makes modelling a really tedious process. Buried is my Greenwood, my Simple cab Bison, and all those other z3d files now spreaded everywhere in my HDD (Landstalker Pickup, Granger LTZ, Tailgater Highline, etc).
But now I'm starting a new project

Bravado Bison S (2.0)

https://www.gta5-mod...-bison-highline

Schyster Greenwood (0.5) (Deprecated - GCT did a much better job here, someone should convert it)

https://www.gta5-mod...yster-greenwood

BF Roach

(WIP - Not Released Yet)

What you read there is my most ambitious mod I've ever did. I've always wanted a VW Bug (Type 1 - Sedan - Fusca - Escarabajo - Vocho - etc) for GTA V since it was released, but no one made it. So I've started deleting all those redneck mods from the Injection and worked on new fenders taken from the Hotknife (front) and Roosevelt

(back, not started yet). So here's the result so far:

nwev02.png

It's starting to take shape right now. And it's going pretty fast if you keep in mind I've started it like two hours ago. There are some rough polygons but that's nothing I couldn't fix. It's far from being finished, since I've didn't started modding the back yet. It will feature a brand new, fully restored interior, a 3D Engine (downsized BF Injection One, just to fit it in the trunk) and a clean paintwork. All with new lights, fenders and bumpers. Probably a reworked rear window too. This one will also have fully optimized LODs to be as lore friendly and bug-free as possible. Keep in mind It's far from being released, because:

1) I don't want to release a bugged model if I don't know if I'll be able to update it later in case of bugs, so I'll try it every time I move a polygon.

2) It's a real hassle to deal with Zmodeler trials. I've set up some virtual machines in order to get 14 days more of use for each one so I can keep working on them, but I'm pretty sure that ZModeler will be slow AF in those, even with GPU virtualization enabled, so I'll probably end up using all my other computers.

I'll also add to this post my GTA IV Mods later, I'm just too lazy right now.  (Edit: added)

Right now I'm starting a poll: How do you want to call it? BF Roach, or BF Club Classic?

I agree with Youga, BF Bug is the perfect name for it!

Awesome work on the car, though. Looking forward to seeing it released

BF Roach.

I always thought the Club was callled that way because it's a Golf  - golf club.

So that name wouldn't make much sense for a Type 1.

I've thought the same, I'm also planning to make a lore-friendly Golf for the game too, but it's just in the planning board, since I'll probable have to start it from scratch.

Edit: Chassis is now done!

I'm gonna put everything together and try it ingame for the first time!

Next up: the interior.

For the most part it looks good, but there is something off about those headlights: they look a bit too big.

Yup, those are Peyote wheels. I use them just for testing size and collisions. The front lights are placeholders too as they're the original ones but just resized, not even attached to the car. Badges, turn lights and reversing lights will be there too!

Are you going to update your Bison S? I love the truck, but it has many bugs.

Just a thought, maybe is not necessary, design wise IRL, but shouldnt the front lights be aiming horizontally and not ~45°?

Yup, probably after finishing this model. The most important bug on that truck is that it doesn't have proper LODs and, if I remember correctly, misaligned/narrow wheels. Also the bumper doesn't look so great. I may ask Thundersmacker if I can borrow his Bison's bumper and modify it a little bit.

They will be aiming horizontally, but the frame is slightly rotated, following the fenders curve.

Something like this:

I'm getting really tired of Zmodeler. It broke my z3d file! I get an "Application stopped working" error at 99% then it kicks me to desktop. I've added a new trial to another PC and I managed to open the file, which is corrupted AF. Collisions are just gone, dummies are spread everywhere and the boot and rear bumper are flipped (but I cant flip them back). After fixing the most important bugs (COL and dummies), guess what? I can't export the model because my license denies that action, even if I have 14 days left.

I've just started all over again in an "alternative" version of a certain modeler. At least I already know how I've made it so it will be a bit quicker and better quality than the first attempt, and I'm not rushed by a two weeks countdown chasing my tail.

Will post updates this week, sorry about this.

ZModeler can be a bitch sometimes, but don't give up.

Don't give up. If you do, the world feels empty, the game really needs more lore friendly mods, there are less lore friendly mods for the game, meanwhile real life mods spreading and growing fast on every GTA modding sites. That's kinda unfair, right? Well, I do create lore vehicles as well, but I don't have experience with collisions, however that doesn't stop me from modding default vehicles.
