-snip-

The Harrier?

Absolute gas guzzler thanks to the VTOL layout, but a fairly successful fighter-bomber aircraft, even though the AV-8A/B variants had a reputation for being quite dangerous to their pilots.

It must be absolutely stunning to see them at airshows. Alongside its party trick, it's quite a good looking aircraft too.

Very nice pictures Tiger, Amazes how close you were able to get you couldn't get within 1,000 yards of the fence at airports here in the U.S

Really? I haven't been to an international airport for a while so I don't know the Australian rules regarding safe distances from the fence.

At regional airports however, I've seen plenty of people standing right up near the fence, even at airshows where jets like Sabres, L-39s and Hornets are on the flight line. It must've gotten a bit warmer when the F-18s went full afterburner for takeoff!

Oh wow!! I've never ever seen the two Goodyear dirigibles hanging out together. What a strange sight!

...And then there's Rio de Janeiro.

Looks like a cool plane-spotting place. It's not an international airport, but still.
