one of the reasons the mafia uses the construction racket for, is no show jobs. with the brother in law over seeing payroll. I imagine the way they will pay the debt back is putting a couple of Rudy's guy on the construction payroll
Also a bit like when you did see them show up for the job in The Sopranos except they just sat there getting tans all day and eating food.
I had the same question too. The money they're making from the racket is decent. Was it that they take a cut from everyone's pay? But instead of giving the employees cheques, they cash them for them (they have no choice) but charge the a percentage for the service. Might look good for the mob to lodge them through a business front and their dirty money might look legit and clean. Although wouldn't they have to pay tax through the front? Would love to know if someone knows that scam well.
@Spaghetti Cat: Yeah man, was saying that for years or even late 70s/early 80's when Hip Hop was being born and New York was still a hell-hole crime-ridden kip of a place. Thats why I was kind of disappointed that Rockstar set IV in modern times. Seemed like a real missed opportunity.
