So, I'm new to PS3 and GTA IV. Recently, I have been playing a lot of multiplayer but I have realised there is quite a bit of modding happening. Is there a way to avoid this?

Nope, it's inevitable.

Yeah unfortunately you have to live with it

I still managed to find deathmatches and cops and crooks and turf wars with genuine players but its really hard because cheaters are sneaky

An easy giveaway was i always put my weapons on standard. The second someone had a weapon not in that category i knew they were a modder

Anything except a match amongst friends who are willingly to kick strangers will end in ruin because of modders

Just add people to play with so anytime a modder joins you can all kick him out.
