- FTL (minimal resolution must be 1280x720, idk if there's a workaround)

- To The Moon

FTL cannot be a problem, as long as your video card supports that resolution.

To The Moon isn't really a game you could replay. It's a masterpiece in storytelling, and as far as stories go, it's my favorite in a video game, ever. But gameplay-wise, the games lacks a lot.

Yep, i include that as a precaution, because Davenwolf said his PC sucks.
About To The Moon, i include that because every gamer must experience that kind of story. f*ck AAA games with their convoluted stories that was getting nowhere as awesome as this little gem.

I cannot suppress my hype for the sequel. I'm sure the story will be just as good, if not better. To The Moon's story was truly genuine. By comparison, TLoU got nothing on it. It's the only game, EVER, where I cannot give a damn about gameplay.

Yes, A Bird Story is going to be good.
Recently finished Gone Home, and it has such a heartwarming story. I really enjoyed game as a story-telling medium, as long as the prices wasn't too high of course.

Yeah it does suck but for some reason it runs The Forest and 7 Days to Die in the lowest resolution.

You'll run FTL like a pimp runs his whores, no problems.

Games that are similar to Civilization 5? mainly in the military sense (waging war)

Depends how in depth you wanna go, and whether you want empire building as well as the war fighting. If so, I cannot recommend more Crusader Kings 2, though admittedly that is ALOT of empire management.

There's also Europa universalis IV, by the same studio but simplified and a bit more war focused.

Isn't Europa Universalis more statistic-based though? And like, very steep learning curve?

You could try Age of Wonders III (recently released), it looks a lot like how Civ 5 functions (I haven't played Civ 5 though).

So I'm going to try and buy an Xbox One for Christmas along with GTA V and some other racing games. The problem is... I don't know whether I'd want to buy Forza Horizon 2 or the next Gran Turismo. I'm not really into arcade racing styles and I know that's what Forza Horizon is about, but I want a game with the newest cars, the best physics, and the most amazing roads and places to travel through. So... tell me which game is better in each of these categories please.

Graphics
Physics
Car Selection
Car Customization
Scenery
Realism
Best Environment

And before you mention the Lamborghini Huracan, the Nissan GTR Black Edition, and the Corvette Stingray being in Horizon, I already know and that's something that's driving me towards that game.

Thanks in advance.

First of all GT and Forza are console exclusives. GT isn't on Xbox.

Forza Horizon 2 on the Xbox One uses the Forza 5 engine so technically FH2 is a simcade.

First off

Graphics: Personal preference. Personally I prefer Forza

Physics: Same as graphics

Car selection: Hands down, Forza. A good chunk of cars in GT are either re-skins, standard cars (with poor interior models) or one of 30 odd skylines. Seriously though, the lack of effort shocked me.

Customisation: GT. I'm look at this in more of a tuning aspect than actual body kits and spoilers. The tuning system in GT isn't perfect but it's what it does that makes it superior. The rating of the car will increase if you tune the car in a way that will make it faster whereas tuning in Forza is at a set rating. I suppose it's a personal preference

Scenery/environment: No competition at all. It's FH2. FH2 is open world and it's set in Southern Europe, specifically: France, Monaco, Italy and probably one or two I've missed. Open world games will always have better sceneries and environments than a closed track racing game.

Realism: It's hard to say. It sort of depends on experiences. Personally, I haven't driven a car but I feel that GT is too gripy.

It's not that I have anything against the GT series but imo GT5 shot the series down and GT6... That could have been a PS4 exclusive to show off the graphics. There's not really a genre of game that can show off graphics as good racing games. Rather than doing that they released it for the PS3 and lost the chance to redeem the Gran Turismo name.

So overall, it's basically about personal preference. Out of FH2 and GT6 it would have to be FH2 for the free roaming. Personally, I want to see if FH2 can stand its ground against The Crew which, by the looks of it, is what Test Drive Unlimited 3 (well probably TDU4 but that's not the point) would have been.

EDIT:

Wow... I just looked at the GT6 car list and there's 53 Skylines.

What are you talking about? You can tune all the same settings in Forza as you can in GT.

Forza has a letter class ranking system with an associated numeric value that a car can reach within the range of that class. Any performance part you install will alter the rating. If you install enough, it changes your class. It could not possibly be less of a set rating.

When you make changes to the actual tune the rating will change in GT but not Forza. You're confusing upgrading parts with tuning.

If I make a change to the tune of a car, lets say the ride height, the rating in GT will change but in Forza it wont. It's usually just a small change but it gives you a better idea of the competitiveness of the car.

Should i play Ubisoft's Child of Light ? Kinda interested by the fact that it is a short/pocket RPG. I would like to go for the Vita version.

I am a bit worried about the game being repetitive and about the story overall. I have the feeling the game may be a bit dry, on the other hand i don't feel like diving in a 30h long adventure so Child of light 10 hour story would be perfect.

I'd like it to be interesting plot-wise and i wanna know if the game manages to stay fresh during the short time it lasts.

If it is, then it's an instant buy for me.

I'm looking for a RPG game on PS3 with 2 players splitscreen or 2 players on 1 screen, shooting and fighting are the types of games I like and a good campaign story would be a bonus.

Good thread, I was going to post one myself to ask this question...

Can anyone recommend me a game similar to DayZ? I have PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and a PC, so it can be from any of those platforms.
When I say similar to DayZ, I don't necessarily mean zombies(but if it does, that's cool), but just a survival game where you have to scavenge supplies and try to stay alive in an open world.
I'd prefer it to be multiplayer, but I'd take single player games too.

State of Decay for consoles and PC, then The Forest and Rust come to mind for PC

Ahhh, State of Decay, thank you. I've actually known about this game, but I completely forgot what it was called. I'm getting that for sure. Don't know what The Forest/Rust are, but I'll check them out. While I'm here, anyone also know of any RTS games that are fast paced and responsive like Starcaft 2 and Warcraft 3? I love RTS games, but I'm getting bored of all the slow paced, unresponsive RTS games that rely more on the base building than actual unit movement. I've got Company of Heroes, World in Conflict, every Dawn of War game, every Command & Conquer game, Universe at War, and Kings Crusade, and while they are all fun, I'm looking for something more like Starcraft 2 now. Unfortunately, Starcraft/Warcraft seem to be the only games in the genre that play like that, unless anyone knows of something different?

Also, I refuse to play RTS games on console, so I don't care for games like Halo Wars. I think they simply don't work. Even someone like myself, who is a primarily console gamer and a Halo fanboy, cannot get into that game.

To be honest, I only played about an hour of it, but I would say it's somewhere in the middle, you should watch some Youtube videos to find out more.

Not sure what you mean by solo, because the forest is single player only and 7 days to die has solo mode too. You might like Sir, You Are Being Hunted and Planet Explorers,I think those are solo, I've never played either of those though.

Have you checked out 'The Forest' yet, DavenWolf? Looks pretty cool, you have to build and survive against cannibals after you survive a plane crash.
